so much until i read the internet.

i thought FFXII was refreshing. i thought the story was one of the most "mature" i had seen in an FF title. i thought the voice acting was excellent, as well as the visual art design. i still play it upscaled on my PS3, and it looks great (i'd be all for an FF HD Collection, remastering all 3 FF's from the PS2).

the game play was great too. i'm not a big fan of MMO's, but i felt that FFXII had what ...

i also really loved FFXII.

this FFXIII hate reeks of internet sheep mentality.

i'm sure there are plenty of people out there that just genuinely didn't like the game, and for valid reasons, and THEN, there are those people that are hating on it just because it's the accepted thing to do.

it's not a perfect game, but out of all of the RPGs i've played this generation, it's one of the most polished and refreshing.

i remember the first time i saw the start screen of God of War 3, my jaw just hit the floor. especially when it pulled out and showed that it was his actual in game model, not a separate switch to a higher detail model.

it's crazy, because he has less polygons than Nathan Drake, but is arguably more detail because he's shirtless, and you have his muscles visible.

Nathan and Kratos are probably two of the most impressive character models i've seen ...

really. it isn't.

you can have wildly varying lists for the top 5 PS3 games and still have a great list.

my personal top 5 (in terms of how often i play the games over and over and over again):

5) Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
4) Little Big Planet
3) inFAMOUS
2) Metal Gear Solid 4
1) Uncharted 2

i could easily swap out any of those games for Demon's Souls, Valkyria Chronicle...

but i have to say that just seeing the audience reaction to the reveal brought a big smile to my face.

i didn't expect to see Twisted Metal PS3 at E3, and i don't fault or blame Jaffe.

i MISS the days of E3 surprises.

call me old, but i remember the days when i was eagerly awaiting the "E3 issue" of game magazines, which always came out a MONTH AFTER E3 wrapped, so i could see what surprises the gaming industry had in store ...

having PR for Hitler coming out and saying, "Hey, Hitler would like to improve his image."

um, good luck with that Hitler.

Activision has a LONG WAY to go in terms of improving their image. if they were really serious, they'd delay Call of Duty: Black Ops until next fall. that way Treyarch could REALLY bring it in terms of pushing the tech and quality of the game.

if they were serious, they would treat their employees as more th...

people are STILL calling bullshots on PS3 exclusive titles.

i mean, have you naysayers learned NOTHING from Killzone 2? Metal Gear Solid 4? Uncharted 1 and 2? Ratchet and Clank Future: ACIT? Killzone 3? Gran Turismo 5? Heavy Rain? God of War 3? even in light of impressive new tech like MLAA, you people are still doubting that inFAMOUS 2 could ACTUALLY look like the screens suggest?

seriously, people. the PlayStation 3 has proven itself visually. there's r...

people are pestering them about inFAMOUS 3?

i think the answer Sucker Punch gave in this interview was simple deflection. i'm pretty sure they have plenty of ideas of where to take inFAMOUS next (as if comic books don't offer an ass ton of inspiration).

reading between the lines, i think they are simply going to produce Sly Cooper 4 after inFAMOUS 2. that'll give them a nice breather after 5.5 years of working on inFAMOUS, they can revisit Sly (wh...

sold, because the gaming media had already MURDERED the brand.

all those reviews trashing the game set into consumers minds that it was a brand to be ignored.

even if the sequel was better in every way, it's still a "tainted" brand. all those 5/10s, and 6/10s just because the game was short (and realistically, you could beat it in 9 hours first playthrough).

value is in the eye of the beholder, not in the number of sales.

of COURSE it's going to have bugs and glitches that will be ironed out before release.

having tested video games for years, it's just something you come to expect (and hunt for at work).

but of course, it's more fun for journalists to blow this stuff out of proportion.

i'm more interested in the fact that my 2 year copy of Fallout 3 on the PS3 STILL has fatal crashes when it's the final code. get on that shit Bethesda! i&#...

i thought it was a pretty average FPS, with phenomenal visuals.

stripping the visuals away, and it really is a standard PC FPS.

add in the visuals, and you have a standard PC FPS that can only run on a very small percentage of PCs at that level. lol.

i think the game gets more credit for it's visuals than it's game play. calling it terrible though, is really unfair.

"terrible," is Blacksite: Area 51. Legenda...

better in my post? read it again and get back to me.

there you go.

for the record, i DO think Rising looks better. that doesn't change the fact that the images in the article for MGS4 were extremely poor quality and not representative of the actual game.

Metal Gear Solid 2, when it hit, was the most visually impressive PS2 title to date. nobody thought it could get any better than that. THEN, Metal Gear Solid 3 came out years later and ma...

is using for that trailer?

better question: WHAT platform does Kojima Productions have an awful lot of experience with?

it wouldn't surprise me if this trailer was running the PS3 version, or the PC version of the game.

in either case, the game is looking great, and has me intrigued. i'm getting the PS3 version. i wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version has some extra bells and whistles because of the disc space. god forbid the 3...

and i had a blast playing Harmony of Despair.

Journey looks fantastic, and i'm eager to see it in motion (i don't need ANY information on the game. knowing that it was made by thatgamecompany has already cemented a purchase from me).

Scott Pilgrim vs the World looked AWESOME, and it could be a movie to game tie in that WORKS. loved the style.

i didn't get to see the others.

and of COURSE these games are overlooked...

but i remember playing the first two on the PS1 back in the day and having a great time.

as for Twisted Metal PS3, seeing it in person at E3 pumped me up for the game.

the videos don't do it justice (like most vids these days).

seeing the game actually running on a PlayStation 3 makes a big difference.

even Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines looks WAAAY BETTER when running on the system than the trailer they released.

the game is looking to improve every aspect of the original game in terms of game play, and all ANYONE can talk about is the fact that Cole has tape on his fingers and hair.

it's literally driving me insane. i just want to talk and speculate about the game and it's game play, and even it's setting and story, and every. single. time, the conversation is just mired in Cole's "douchey" looks.

looking like a douche didn't stop us fro...

it's all "who CARES WHO WON E3?" when last year it was all about Microsoft winning because of the amazing Natal technology.

no, it's not a big deal who won E3, but i find it irritating that NOW people want to accept how pointless it is to argue about who won when their preferred platform didn't have the most impressive showing.

personally, i think that i won, and my wallet lost (although, i admit to being more impressed with Sony overall...

a lot of fun.

moving around, using powers, etc, all felt great. i was playing as a Batgirl type character who got some armor from Batman. She could glide through the air, as well as climb on any surface (even ceilings).

Her powers were pretty cool. i could go stealth, whack people with my staff/wand. shoot out a fire ball, and trap people in an electric field.

i was all into it until i asked the guy if it was subscription or not. he said &quo...

was really about how hard Microsoft dropped the ball with Kinect.

after hearing for MONTHS that "all would be made clear" at E3 concerning connect, i was really expecting to be impressed by how Kinect could be utilized in a variety of different ways.

instead, what did i get? Cirque Du Soleil, Animatronic Elephants, uncomfortable segments featuring little girls petting air, telling my 360 to play and fast forward/rewind instead of pressing a button, ...

that Sony won in terms of content and showing that MOVE isn't JUST a grab for the casuals (it IS a grab for the casuals, but us core gamers aren't being left behind).

i think that Nintendo had the best presentation, and the 3DS is some impressive tech, but my issue is that, once again, they fell back on tugging on ours, and the media's nostalgic heartstrings. Zelda. Mario. Metroid. Kid Icarus. Donkey Kong. yes, it's GREAT that we are once again getting more, b...
