my wife is a girl, and she HATES 2D games because they are too hard.
instead, she plays Fallout 3, Oblivion, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 1 and 2, and Fable 1 and 2, to name only a few of the games she plays. those are not 2D. the only real 2D game she'll play is Little Big Planet, but only up until the end, because those last levels are brutal.

i don't quite get the hate Resistance 2 gets, because i enjoyed the contrast in tone between it an Resistance (God forbid a sequel doesn't just copy/paste it's template from the previous game), but the original was great. i didn't get my PS3 until 4 months after it launched, but Resistance: Fall of Man was the game i bought with it. fantastic stuff.
