Sucker Punch have said that he will always be the "Electric Hero," and i view these ice powers as supplements to his electric powers.
besides, it's been shown in inFAMOUS 1 that Cole is a very special conduit, and has the potential for an expanded power set.
Sucker Punch also said that the narrative of inFAMOUS 2 revolves Cole going on a journey to become a "Super-Superhero." i took that to mean, he gets in contact with the First Son...
me about Dragon Age: Origins is that i didn't think, graphically, it held to Bioware's standards.
the story and characters were typical Bioware. that is to say, they were great, i just felt it lacked graphical polish.
my wife plays the hell out of that game, even after getting the Platinum in it, and she's looking forward to this one. she's currently excited for Fallout: New Vegas, since that's actually launching this year. it'll keep ...
it's awesome, because Red Dead Redemption is awesome, and i'm all for supporting DLC when it's making a quality game even better.
it's shitty, because i literally, just a week ago, came up with an idea for a story i'm going to write (and maybe draw), about Zombies in the old west, and what it would be like to have to survive against zombies with the limited tech and communications and means of transportation they had back then. my story was set further bac...
embarrassed other sequels out there that are barely improving over their predecessors. the CORE of inFAMOUS 2 is the same, but the execution and additions are what's going to make it trounce the original.
i always made comments prior to the debut about how i had high hopes for inFAMOUS 2 because the leap between Sly Cooper 1 and Sly Cooper 2 was so great. when the Sly Cooper Collection hits, those that get it will see how much of an improvement Sly 2 is over Sly 1.
my wife plays everything from Final Fantasy to Fallout 3.
she's platinumed Dragon Age and Fallout 3, and beat Mass Effect 1 and 2 multiple times.
she's particular about her games (she loves RPGs and open world games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, etc), and she doesn't like mind-numbingly hard games, but she DID play Demon's Souls quite a bit, and only had me jump in when it was a boss battle.
so, yeah. in short my wife is awesome. ...
i'm still rocking the original model.
i'd prefer to have a nice catalog of PSP games saved to my PS3 hard drive, able to be fired up and played with my Dual Shock 3 at a whim, then, if i want to transfer it to my PSP for on the go, i can do that. i'd also like to be able to adjust the screen size of the games on my TV, or have the PS3 do some minimal upscaling so it doesn't look like a blurry mess.
i downloaded this program on my computer that...
Sony has invested in enough 1st and 2nd party studios to cover all their bases.
they don't have formerly core game oriented studios now working on casual fluff like the competition does.
Sony lets their developers cater to their strengths and produce the content that they want. if they want casual games, they'll go to one of their studios that KNOWS how to do casual games (like the EyeToy team in London are in charge of most of the PlayStation MOVE ti...
game library.
inFAMOUS is.
why? because it is probably one of the best feeling and controlling sandbox games in the industry.
the amount of control you have over Cole is amazing. he is a joy to maneuver through the city.
the control scheme in both Assassin's Creed games is cumbersome and often imprecise. i can't tell you how many times i had to do the one hidden temple section where you have to leap across the beams i...
and i'm certainly playing the game on my PSP, but i would 100% gobble up a PSN/PS3 version of the title that i can play on my 40" HDTV.
Kojima is one of the industry's greats, and he's earned a fan for life thanks to games like MGS, Boktai, and ZOE. i'll support whatever he makes, and i'll double dip without a second thought (release a MGS HD Collection and i'm all over it).
considering the state of the PSP in terms of software sales...
and no, not in the everyman way that Peter Parker is unremarkable, but in the "i'm a bland, uninteresting character" unremarkable.
the jury's out in inFAMOUS 2 Cole, because, so far, we've only been given a total of about 3 lines of dialogue from the guy.
visually, he doesn't look like he's trying too hard to be an "urban superhero," like inFAMOUS 1 Cole was. to me, Cole's character design in inFAMOUS 1 reeked of so...
Sony just needs to make another offer to buy Sucker Punch.
those guys DESERVE to be in the PlayStation family proper, and benefit from all of the backing that entails.
i definitely think PS3 first party devs (and second party devs like Insomniac, Quantic Dream, and Sucker Punch), have really been knocking it out of the park when it comes to pushing the industry forward on a yearly basis.
many other studios are content to just slap Unreal Engi...
that the people that are disappointed with Crackdown 2 are people that don't even like the 360 or the Crackdown games.
for me, i actually GOT my 360 because of the original Crackdown and Mass Effect. for a LONG TIME, those were the only two titles i had on my 360. then i got Fable 2. i'm not a Gears of War or Halo fan, so those weren't selling points for me. Crackdown and ME were. i played the HELL out of Crackdown 1, and i highly enjoyed it.
my a...
all these people bitching about wanting PS2 BC in the PS3.
see, the thing is, we HAD, PS2 BC in the PS3, but at the time, it was all about why the PS3 was "overpriced," and how Sony should "remove features" in order to lower the cost of the PS3.
well, Blu Ray wasn't going anywhere. as you can see by games like Uncharted 1 and 2, Ratchet 1 and 2, Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc, Blu Ray was VITAL to the PS3 as a multi-media platform...
i only played a little of it at E3, but it looked and felt like Crackdown to me.
the only real problem i have with Crackdown 2 is that it's set in the same city. i was hoping that they would have moved to a new location. a lot of the fun of sandbox games is discovery. i loved just roaming around in games like Red Dead Redemption, GTA, inFAMOUS, etc, because it was a new locale, with it's own style and layout to learn.
i loved the first Crackdown (it w...
it's extremely encouraging to many who may have been gamers, but felt that their disability kept them from pursuing that hobby.
gaming is one of my favorite forms of entertainment, and i don't know what i'd do if i was somehow unable to continue doing it.
this guy found a way to keep on gaming, and that's awesome and impressive.
i personally hadn't seen this story before. it's one of those things where you just can'...
i don't have to by ANYTHING i don't want to.
is it some kind of unspoken rule that whenever a company introduces a new product, you HAVE to buy it?
have i been saving myself TONS of money by, i don't know, exercising my free will and buying whatever the fuck i damn well WANT?
i bought a fully BC PS3 back then because i knew i'd want to fire up some of my favorite PS2 games (i still regularly play the Silent Hills, Metal Gears,...
manufacturer and a game publisher.
i remember back in the PS1 era, they were relying heavily on third party developers to create compelling content for the PS1. oh, they certainly had a few in house studios develop some good stuff (Legend of Dragoon, Gran Turismo, Colony Wars, Alundra, Warhawk, Ape Escape, Twisted Metal, etc), but their output wasn't that much. it was all about the Final Fantasy 7's, Metal Gears, Silent Hills, Castlevanias, and Resident Evils back the...
that the industry has gotten so spoiled that if companies aren't announcing "revolutionary" technology every 6-12 months it's a sign of doom.
personally, i DON'T want any new hardware. i spent over $2000 this generation on hardware ALONE.
i'd like to get CONTENT NOW. Sony showed off a breadth of content catering to a broad demographic, not just one.
Nintendo showed off new hardware, but i'm not in the market for ...
there's also a difference between "graphics," and "art design."
the real question is: "Does art design matter?"
for example, Super Mario Galaxy can't technically compete with a game like Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. that's a fact.
HOWEVER, Super Mario Galaxy is still a beautiful game. why? Art Design.
if a game has great art design, then it will look great.
it really is.
some of the best games of all time were not only praised for their awesome game play, but their excellent visuals.
people forget that Super Mario Bros. 3, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 4, etc, were considered graphical benchmarks/technical showpieces at the time. the game play also happens to be classic and praised endlessly.
personally, i don't see graphics and game play as being mutually exclusive.
