industry thinks that all high school students settle their differences with epic song and dance offs, people stranded on a mystical island for months on end still manage to maintain their roguish good looks and pearly white teeth, and that people that KNOW they have camera's in their homes filming their EVERY MOVE are somehow ACTUALLY behaving anywhere CLOSE to how they do in "real life."
in short, it's a fantasy world. the entertainment industry, from movie...
but the game was like, 60 percent air duct exploring simulator.
the melee fighting was much more satisfying than in inFAMOUS (if Cole cold pull off the moves that Batman did, that'd be awesome), but after beating Batman: AA, i wasn't compelled to play it again. i STILL play inFAMOUS to this day, just tooling around the city, killing enemies and jumping around.
the feeling of freedom in inFAMOUS is fantastic. Batman: AA felt more claustrophobic, which ...
Cole is that he came after Nathan Drake, who is one of the most fleshed out, personable characters i've seen in gaming in a long, LONG time, if not all generation (John Marston from RDR is another fantastically realized character).
there's nothing wrong with visually redesigning your main character, and there is nothing wrong with altering his personality.
inFAMOUS is one of my favorite games this generation, but even i knew that Cole wasn't the m...
Zeke is still there. that's too bad.
but i'm sure Sucker Punch took to heart the complaints about Zeke, and will probably work on his character.
i cannot WAIT for this game.
i don't know when i'll get my copy of GI in the mail, but i don't think i've been this excited about getting a print magazine in a long time (i got a free year subscription to GI when i bought God of War 3 from Gamestop earlier this year).

it's a symbiotic relationship.
without us, the companies wouldn't be able to make money.
in order to make money, the company needs to create a product that the consumer is willing to spend their money on.
in order to ensure that, the company will do what it can to produce a quality product, and then have FOLLOW THROUGH with that product to ensure consumer loyalty.
Sony, over 15+ years, has produced a line of PlayStati...
he mentioned at the end of inFAMOUS that
SPOILERS: Kessler took a "one way trip" back in time, and i always thought that meant that he could only use this "newest and deadliest power" once, because it was too powerful, but i could be wrong.
in either case, it doesn't matter WHAT the story is, because the game play in inFAMOUS was so addicting and fun. i'm expecting a really improved narrative compared to the first, but what i'...
so the only thing that would interest me when it comes to playing PS2 games on my PS3 is if they do more collections like the God of War Collection.
having my favorite PS2 games, upgraded to HD, with smoother framerates, and even Trophies (although Trophies are at the bottom of my list when it comes to compelling game play features this generation), is just much more appealing to me.
God of War Collection was such a surprise (i really wasn't expecting it ...
that made me hyped for Heavy Rain, but i think the people dismissing Heavy Rain as being it's "own genre" haven't played it.
i loved and adored Indigo Prophecy, but Heavy Rain is more than just "Indigo Prophecy with better graphics." EVERYTHING about the Heavy Rain experience feels different from Indigo Prophecy.
i was in the camp also, before i played it, that the game would be just like IP but prettier. but man was i wrong.
but what's awesome is watching porn TOGETHER.
having a wife who is cool with me watching porn is the most kickass thing ever.
i shouldn't have to feel ashamed because i enjoy porn, or have to hide it from my wife. i'm not rushing to close the browser when she enters the room and i'm looking at it.
as for Sony not allowing porn on the video store, i can understand why they wouldn't. more than just adults use the PS3. my nie...
is ruining gaming. i think developer/publisher apathy is ruining gaming. there are very few developers out there taking chances, trying new things, pushing the current technology as far as they think it can go.
it's pretty much just, "Hey kids, you can SHOOT EACH OTHER ONLINE!!"
i've sunk over 40 hours into Red Dead Redemption single player. i have yet to play the online portion. i'm actually thinking of restarting the single player, bec...
or that these announcements/reveals are "leaks."
they aren't leaks. Sony is actively making these announcements before E3.
as for "spoiling E3," some of you must think that Sony only has 4 or 5 development studios. the truth of the matter is that Sony has 20 (TWENTY) first party studios, and 9 (NINE) second party studios. that's 29 studios working on exclusive content for the PS3, and you guys are thinking that the 4 exclusives rev...
we've seen screenshots from KZ3, and Sev still has his mohawk thing, as well as no facial hair.
i think this dude is a new character.
EDIT: nevermind. i just read the quote in which they confirm it's Sev. well, i feel foolish now!
like, literally, NONE of that stuff happened in the book. lol.
i couldn't pick out a single part of that trailer that looked like it actually came from the book.
as for it looking like a 3rd person shooter? i got no problems with that. the previous Harry Potter games blew chunks.
at least in the 7th Book there's a lot more action/combat (which is why i guess they took so many liberties with it for the game).
EA really...
um, that's all i really had to say.
but yeah, the Helghast are a fascinating "enemy," and i'd love to see more of their story.
Killzone has such a rich, well thought out universe, that it begs to be explored more in the games.
i think it'd be kind of cool to create a 3rd person shooter like RPG (almost like Mass Effect, but minus the pretending it's an RPG, then pulling a bait and switch with the sequel), and really ...
i have the PS3 version, and i've invested roughly 30+ hours into the game, and i've only run into framerate issues ONCE, and the game only froze on me ONCE.
unbelievable.
i'm pretty sure that the people experiencing the framerate/freeze issues are 100% experiencing those issues, but i'm just really surprised that my experience has been so smooth. i played the game practically non-stop since i got it.
could it be people's ...
i did something that i will now make standard when writing reviews: i waited a few weeks/months, before i sat down and evaluated the game.
so many reviews can be classified as "impulse reviews," in that most reviews these days are written then and there, either during or after the reviewer has finished playing the game. most reviews are also fueled by hype, whether good or bad hype, and that greatly affects the score.
i mean, look at how many review...
traded in my copy of Heavy Rain, but it was for a worthy reason: God of War 3. i simply didn't have the money at the time to buy it, and i desperately needed it.
i plan on rebuying Heavy Rain (and all the other games i traded in that day). before i got rid of it, i beat it at least 3 or 4 times. absolutely great game.
i agree that nothing beats the first playthrough, but subsequent playthroughs really gave me a chance to take in everything Quantic Dream g...
that the Beast was John ever since the game released.
We never know what happens to him (Cole thinks he's dead), and it was established through the Dead Drops that John was a conduit like Cole (or else why recruit him and run tests on him?).
Zeke isn't a conduit, so I don't see how he could be the Beast. Nothing happened to him when he opened up the Ray Sphere.
I don't think John was killed when Cole activated/destroyed the Ra...
is willing to take risks.
Nintendo is content to reap the rewards of building a ravenously loyal fanbase thanks to Mario, Zelda, and Metroid.
Microsoft is content to simply follow the herd and take a "wait and see" approach, investing very little in risks (which is why they tend to rely on 3rd parties to do a lot of the dirty work on the 360, like Sony did with 3rd parties on the PS1 back in the day).
without Sony taking risks, we...
i still play through Uncharted, inFAMOUS, God of War 3 and Ratchet even though i've platinumed those games.
why? because they are insanely fun.
i'm going to restart a new game of Red Dead Redemption, because it's simply a fun, great game.
i've enjoyed games for over 25 years without the need for Trophies and Achievements to somehow convince me that i'm having more fun that i'm actually having. i never needed incentive,...
