i'll pick this title up when it hits the PS3(i have a feeling it's coming to the PS3 at some point in the future).
i have no problems with the 360, but i can't justify purchasing one for 3 games (Mass Effect, Bioshock, Fable 2).
when there are more titles that i must play for the 360, i'll pick one up, but i was burned on my X Box purchase by Microsoft (they abandoned the X Box after only 4 years, and left me high and dry for new X Box releases while they were es...
we *HAVE* seen MGS4 gameplay.
the last trailer released, sometime around the Tokyo Game Show, showed us actual gameplay.
Kojima said that they used one of the programmer's gaming sessions, and just manipulated the camera for clarity.
look it up, i'm sure you can find it on ign or game videos.
either way you slice it, these games look great.
you'll always have games that look better than the other (for example, God of W...
just as a point of interest, those screenshots *ARE* from ingame. the trailer confirms that the visuals look this amazing during gameplay.
i think they all look fricking incredible.
i think tears were brought to my eyes looking at those screens. almost too beautiful to behold *sniff*.
anyway, the key difference here, is that to play Crysis, i'll need a ridiculously powerful (read: expensive) computer. we're talking $600 on the video card *alone*. then you have to find a motherboard and processor that'll be compatitible with the vid card, a chasis, we're already approaching over a grand, maybe even n...
i got to play this title at E3 2006, and it was a lot of fun.
i'll try and remember as much as i can from my experience with it (the arena demo we're all familiar with was is what was shown)
in all honesty, it has more in common with God of War and Ninja Gaiden, than Dynasty Warriors and Ninety-Nine Knights.
to generalize, think of the button layout of God of War/God of War 2. that was the control scheme for Heavenly Sword (at least last year).
<...
i'm expecting it to be released in Japan this year. same thing with White Knight Story.
even if FFXIII doesn't come out this year, that still leaves 31 high quality exclusive and multi-platform titles being released by the end of 2007 on the PS3 and 360, and i didn't list all the titles slated for this year, just the ones that personally appeal to me.
the whole gaming universe doesn't revolve around FFXIII or MGS4. sheesh.
there's plenty of other ...
the ratio in Japan before was the Wii outselling the PS3 4 to 1.
now, the Wii is outselling the PS3 2 to 1.
what other sites reporting this story have noted, is that the gap between the two is *SHORTENING*.
those in Japan that have blown their load (of energy, keep your minds out of the gutter, people), on the Wii, are now looking for that other system to supplement it (the Wii can't do it all, you know). considering that the 360 is practically a n...
as a PS3 owner, i'm glad to see one of it's classic franchises staying exclusive. this will surely boost sales of the PS3 once the game is released, hopefully this year. of course, with 3 million units sold worldwide, i think it's safe to say that the console won't be going away anytime soon.
on another note, he's noted numerous times that he'd love to develop something for the 360, that is specific to that console, taking advantage of it's particular strengths.
...
i saw some videos of this game in action, and it did look like fun.
it wasn't even a blip on my radar before i saw the 1up guys talking about it after the TGS show last year.
visually, it's stunning, and the gameplay, at the least, has me installed.
it's a little bit Pokemon (in that you have different creatures that will fight for you), and it's a little big Ghostbusters (in order to capture the creatures, you have to use the SIXAXIS to suck out t...
they actually sell the UK OPM here in Los Angeles, so i'll definitely pick it up next month.
i was never sure if they'd offer demo discs with the PS3, since there's the Playstation Store now, but if they'd get an exclusive sneak peek at upcoming games, and demos, i'd be all for buying magazines again. i stopped buying printed mags a long time ago. i got tired of waiting 30 days for outdated news, when the internet was just a button click away.
i'm definitely going to try and get in on the beta.
if i don't, ah well, there will be plenty of great games for me to play in the meantime until the final version is released.
to Madden:
yeah, that happened to me also! i posted some positive stuff about the PS3 and lost a bubble! lol.
it's all good, as i could care less about bubbles. i'm too busy counting down the days until i get my hands on Mass Effect, Bioshock, Heavenly Sword, Lair, MGS4, FFXIII, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, LA Noire, Heavy Rain, White Knight Story, Folk Souls, Killzone, and so many others that i can't think of them right now....
i have the PC version, and i love it (and beat it), so i have no desire to get it on my PS3.
also, 4 reviews is hardly enough to really base any conclusions off of. one reviewer might think it looks odd (it even looks dated on my PC, but i remember when i first saw it nearly two years ago, and was blown away. considering the leap in visuals we've attained in the past 6-12 months, i'm not surprised if they think it doesn't look up to snuff), while another reviewer may think it l...
i could care less if Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Lair, and Heavenly Sword all come out in the same month.
they're all coming home with me, even if they release on the same day.
after my hands on with Heavenly Sword, that's my definite favorite, though Ninja Gaiden Sigma is close behind it (i played Black, but only through about 5 or 6 chapters. great game, though).
Lair is third on my list, but hopefully we'll see a demo of it soon, so i can really get my ...
i can't wait to get my hands on this game.
i'm picking it up for my PS3, though (i don't have a 360, and won't be in the market to get one for at least another year).
i'm definitely looking forward to seeing what this game is about.
visually, it's fantastic, and Factor 5 has a solid pedigree, let's see if better technology can help them achieve that great balance of visuals and gameplay.
i'm expecting a LAIR demo in the next few weeks for certain (remember guys: Thursdays are PSN day! yesterday they had some lame baseball demo; no offense to baseball lovers out there, but i'm not a fan, a Home trailer, a new Warhawk trailer, a...
if Sony comes up with an online service to match X Box Live, it's all "Sony is playing catchup to MS! They are teh suxxxxorz for copying Live!!"
if Microsoft adds additional hard drive space and HDMI (something Sony offered on day one with the 60gig PS3), it's all, "It doesn't matter who came up with it first, everyone copies!"
the truth of the matter is that the Elite is the console that Microsoft should have launched back in November 2005, b...
there is no need for spin, this is sh*tty news for the loyal X Box fans that purchased 9 million 360's over the course of the past 16 months.
for potential new consumers, the elite isn't too shabby, unless you want to compare it to the PS3:
X Box 360 Elite: $479.99
includes HDMI
included HDMI cable
includes 120gb HD
to play online will cost $50 a year
if you're a movie fan, the HD DVD drive will cost an additiona...
on friday, all over the net it seemed, dissenters were singing the doom of Sony, since the launch in Europe was an unequivocal failure because there weren't eleventy million people lined up outside stores waiting.
now, the preliminary numbers have rolled in, and the PS3 sold 600,000 units in roughly 4 days time.
that's impressive, and either way you cut it, this is a good thing for Sony and gamers in general.
if Sony had bombed, Microsoft would hav...
if Bioware has retained the rights to Mass Effect, then it's more than possible for the title to come to the PS3. published by MS or not. if MS owns the rights to Mass Effect, then yeah, we won't be seeing it anywhere else.
if not, well, looks like i won't be playing Mass Effect for a while then, as i'm not spending $400-$479 for a 360. too high of a defect rate for that kind of money spending.
