If you're looking for some sort of driving simulator, I'd recommend Scania Truck Driving Simulator instead.
It's only $25 as a digital download and there's a demo of it as well. It has surprisingly good graphics for a low budget simulator and it supports both my Logitech G27 wheel and TrackIR which makes for a truly immersive experience. It has missions and a sandbox mode which provide some very challenging scenarios. If you think parallel parking was or still...
I have the plain black version of this headset. I absolutely love it. I can wear it all day long without even noticing. That says a lot because I have a huge melon and I wear glasses. Probably the worst case scenario for any headset that either sits on or goes over your ears. I rarely use my regular PC speakers anymore because of it.
Heh... problem with definition #3 is that I could technically use that to claim that me playing a bit of Skyrim is a sport LOL. I mean, I play it as a recreational pleasant diversion from everyday RL crap'n'stress, so it fulfills everything in criteria #3. Now every Joe Couchpotatoe with a controller can call himself a sports person even if he can barely get off that couch :)
But yeah, let them call it eSports if that's what they want. It's not going to ruin m...
I can't think of any game I would turn pro for.
I play games to have fun and relax. I like to play whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it.
Sure, I can get competitive every now and then, trying to win a race on iRacing or a match in SC2, but to go from there and to becoming a pro at it. It just sounds like it'll suck the fun right out of it since the time and effort needed to become a pro quickly turns it into a job.
That's ...
Meh... in my world, sport involves physical activity.
The word game on the other hand, can be both physical and/or mental and can be just as competitive as anything else, sports included. But I guess they want to use a different word to differentiate it from casual Joe Couchpotatoe playing a bit of SC2 during the weekend.
Again, meh - doesn't matter much to me. What's wrong with using, say, pro-gaming instead though? Isn't that what it used to be...
It's been 10 years at least since I last did a mid-life memory upgrade to my system. Since then, I've always ended up replacing both the CPU, motherboard and RAM at the same time.
In short, it wouldn't really affect me in terms of system building or upgrading. If it means better performance without any other nasty side effect, then I'm up for it.
I'm a bit concerned how this could affect overclocking, cooling and such though.
I wonder how many of those we will actually see in 2013.
At almost 48lbs/22kg... couldn't they at least have made it a proper BMW by sticking some wheels on it?
LOL... the article claims there are no facts which clearly states that piracy is hurting the industry, yet he delivers no facts other than his own -personal- experience to back up his claim that piracy is good for the industry. What a complete and utter joke.
Pirate if you must for whatever reason you choose, if any. Just don't go claim it's good for the entire industry unless you can put some hard evidence down on the table with lots of solid numbers involving a lot ...
True about the FPS for the most part. There are some games which load textures and such on the fly however. Those games are likely to be less prone to stuttering or texture/object popping when on an SSD. It's not going to make or break a game though and I agree that it's not a gaming requirement. Just something nice to throw into your PC once you got everything else covered.
I love my 240GB Corsair Force 3 SSD. It wasn't cheap when I got it, but it has been worth it to me and the price on it has come down so much recently that I'm considering adding another to my system.
My system boots so fast that it takes longer for my BIOS to POST than for Windows 7 to load. It makes a huge difference in some games and almost no difference at all in other games, so you gotta do some testing and then evaluate whether you feel the decreased load times j...
Welcome to the MMO genre? The last MMO I can think of that didn't feel repetitive to me after a while was pre-NGE Star Wars Galaxies. Probably because it felt more like a living breathing sandbox world and had a great community. You know, people who would actually sit and chill out with each other, talking about life, adventures and building stuff together rather than worrying about epic gear and raid schedules.
It may not be perfect, but I think Guild Wars 2 is a step in...
There's nothing about Windows 8 that makes it a "must buy right now" thing to me as it currently stands. The Windows 8 UI looks horrible from what I can see. Even with Metro disabled, the old desktop UI looks extremely flat and uninspiring with Aero Glass gone. Sure, there are some nice optimizations but Windows 7 64bit already runs nicely on my 4.8GHz I5-2500K with 8GB RAM and 240GB SSD (waiting for BIOS POST takes longer than booting Windows 7 and Windows 8 won't change th...
Another perfect example of why I love PC gaming.
I don't get the article.
I used to play Flight Simulator II on my C64 back in 1985ish. Today I'm playing Flight Simulator X on my PC. Am I being ripped off because the gameplay (takeoff, fly, land - repeat) is exactly the same?
I could find a free 2D flash shooter or I could play BF3. Am I being ripped off because they're both shooters and BF3 obviously cost me a lot more than what a free flash shooter is ever going to cost me?

LOL. Ubifail screwing over legitimate customers yet again. Thankfully, there are too many great games to play and not enough time, so I avoid the problem entirely simply by not purchasing (or pirating) any of their games.
Ranged combat while riding a horse? That's going to be fun, if a bit overpowered, with my Khajiit sniper.
Yay.. another generic hotbar and class based quest grinder with some tweaks to make it seem different and a big IP tacked on to sell it. Where have we seen that before? Ah, yes... SWTOR is doing really well these days, right?
I'm gonna laugh the day I come across an Angry Birds frozen chicken in the local supermarket.
Asura dance cracks me up.
