Pay-to-Win kinda reminds me of the great time I had playing Dungeons and Dragons (and many other tabletop RPGs) back in the 80's and 90's. It wasn't called Pay-to-Win back then though. It was called 'let's bribe the dungeonmaster with some beer, pretzels and pizza!'.
Watched it hoping that I would get offended. Left thinking - WTF did I just watch O.o
So, these... people... wanting to identify themselves with a penis swastika.... seriously... they get turned on by sucking a group of nazi d***s and they want to proclaim it to the rest of the world in a video game? Sounds pretty disgusting and pointless to me, but it's a free world. However, if that's what they really want, then maybe they should put down the contoller and find some nazis dudes. That is, once they're old enough to engage in sexual activities.
My gaming rig is virtually silent. The humming from the 4 HDDs I use for storage (SSDs for system and gaming) now make the most noise. It stays that way even when gaming thanks to the Noctua nh-d14 and Gigabyte GTX670 Windforce x3. For the case fans, I simply use as many 200-230mm fans as you can cram into a Coolermaster HAF X and run them at low RPM (300). This is enough even when gaming during summer where I live.
It seems crazy to use that many fans, but in my experience i...
Do I care? Nope, zip, zilch, nada. I play games for fun and relaxation. I find that playing competitively often ruins both. As a result, I tend to gravitate towards non-competitive games or games where you can still do okay and have fun without giving yourself 110%.
Nothing. I'm pretty satisfied with my PC rig which is still less than a year old and current gen consoles are of little to no interest to me. Sure, I -could- add more hardware to my PC, but it wouldn't make much difference to the games I'm currently playing or interested in playing. Heck, there really isn't anything material I want where Xmas and such is concerned. I just want the people around me to be happy.
Now, that's what I call a dick move. That will make some people think twice the next time they come across an Activision title with a tempting preorder bonus. I sure will.
According to Steam, I got 552 hours out of X3: Terran Conflict.
Hmm
It's not a glitch. The game was originally going to be CoD: Snake Ops, but they were afraid that people wouldn't buy it because people only buy sequels these days.
I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. ;)
How about completely avoiding the problem by not buying gold in the first place?
No, not in general. You'll always find extreme cases though. Heck, I've seen 'em.
I'd rather spend my time playing those games I like than wasting my time hating on those games I don't like.
But if some people get enjoyment out of hating... well... *shrug* can't say I care much about 'em even when their hate is aimed at the game I'm playing. Doesn't make my game any less enjoyable. In short, they're wasting their time while I'm having fun :)
Great. Another camper. Just what CoD needs.
Is it going to drop purple shinies if you knock it over?
There's an important difference though. Driving that Ferrari at 20mph is going to get you a hell of a lot more chicks than any overpowered PC gaming rig.
My "Ferrari" may only go 20mph a lot of the time, partially thanks to consoles only going 20mph, but when you get it on that race track or private road, it's an absolute joy to ride.
More importantly though, it gives me options that consoles can't even get -remotely- close at doing (eve...
*shrug*
Being a CoD sheep is a lot more affordable than being an Apple sheep though. CoD + DLC once a year is hardly going to ruin anyone's budget. Even 12 year old Timmy can do that with his allowance and we all know it's only the 10-12 year old kids that play CoD, right?
People waste a lot more on much less every day, so I honestly can't get butt-hurt over CoD sheep despite not being much of a CoD fan myself.
I went from ZX81 Clone -> C64 -> Amiga -> PC. Commodore began screwing up the Amiga around the same time I started my computer science studies, so going from Amiga to PC was a natural step even though the PC in some ways felt like a step backwards in comparison to the Amiga.
Fortunately, the PC really took off with Windows 95 and since most of the games I enjoy playing aren't even available on console, it's pretty obvious why I'm a PC gamer to this day. M...
This is what happens when you give neanderthals a bunch of computers.
