Indeed...
Good point.
Yeah, and they sure live up to their promises on delivering the most kick ass AI ever. Trying to take a fort in Empire/Napoleon never fails to entertain when it comes to scaling those walls and getting your troops to stay there and do something constructive when they've reached the top. A truly excellent example of brilliant path finding and line of sight at work.
Sure hope they deliver on that one in Shogun 2 since they're promising even more advanced sieges battles....
What's so fail about the RailDriver? Sure, train simulation is about as niche as you get and most people would consider it as dull as watching paint dry, but I'm getting the impression that those who are deep enough into train sims to actually purchase the RailDriver pretty much all love it, so you can't really call that fail, can you?
I've also heard lots of praise towards the Nostromo N52, so I'm a bit puzzled on that one as well.
I have 100Mbit Internet connection. It costs me $20 a month. When the download servers aren't overloaded, I download a game in less time than I would take me to get to the nearest game store where the PC selection doesn't totally suck.
Very convenient...
Especially since I don't overly enjoy going to a store to begin with as they tend to stress me out (autism for the fail). At the same time, I don't have to deal with all the clutter from usele...
If you're at the point where you can afford the Mars II (I saw someone guessing at $1.2K on a forum) then I'm sure you can afford the PSU and those 450 extra watts on your electricity bill as well. Oh, and the extra AC unit for your home to keep the room cool lol.
That actually is very nice. Looks quite sharp and retro at the same time due to the usage of hex grid and art deco style. Gives me the impression of playing an old fashioned board game rather than a video game. I could see myself use this view quite a lot, especially on my dual core 1.2Ghz/Intel 4500MHD ultra portable which rumors has it, should be able to run Civ V.
This comes close to being one of the most useless reviews I've come across. The whole review falls apart in the third sentence when he writes "First off, video games should never be about the realism, it defeats the purpose".
Did it ever strike him that RoF:IC is not supposed to be your average video game? It's in fact a simulator and a hardcore one at that. If you expect this to feel like being in a Hollywood movie, you're going to be quite disappointed...
When I game, I tend to forget about food anyway. Coffee is all I need. It also suppresses the appetite. If I reach the point where I must eat something after all, I take a short break.
I'm pretty sure it would be easy to make a list of 10 C64 games that are more rare than even the "rarest" game on his list... and the C64 was pretty darn popular back then. I'm just mentioning it because that's what I grew up with and I obviously have a soft spot for it. There are way more obscure systems with even more rare finds.
The lesson he needs to learn here is that if you're going to write an article about rare and revolutionary games, you se...
Finally a fermi based card that isn't an overpriced toaster oven that requires a Mr. Fusion just to run it. The fact that the 1GB factory OCed 460 can rival the 470 for less and without all the drawbacks of the 470 just makes it pure win. Looks like a worthy upgrade for my GTX260.
I see fanboys wanting to proclaim the next upcoming MMO as the WoW killer all the time. It baffles me why there is such a need to kill WoW to begin with. Sure, it has affected the MMO genre in big ways and some of them might be considered negative, but the damage has already been done, no?
If some MMO -does- manage to kill WoW, we can rest assured that all the other developing companies will copy that "winning" MMO ad nauseam, so let's hope this mythical WoW kil...
And if you happen to already wear glasses to begin with? Wearing two sets of glasses is not my idea of fun. LOL - not even sure if it can be done.
Pointy eared Harry Potter wannabe at 2:01 in the trailer...
Seems like companies will do anything to shove ads down our throat these days while praising the "It's free!" mantra. If only that was really true...
Oh, I agree...
But you make it sound all too simple. In reality, it's a very frustrating one since the "signal-to-noise" ratio is much worse in WoW than most other MMOs. Add to that the fact that you're competing against a billion other guilds trying to do the same thing and you're in for a tough time.
To make matters worse, drop below the critical mass of members needed to keep the raid machine running and watch the cascade failure unfo...
The MMO genre has been seriously lacking in creativity since WoW came out as well. It's hillarious though. So many trying to copy WoW and has any of them been even remotely close to achieving the success of WoW?
Quote from article: "Sounds a bit too nerdy, even for us nerds."
Sounds fun to me. Guess I'm a super nerd then.
Running a guild in World of Warcraft?
Gah...
Unless we're talking a pure RP/social guild or something, I would refuse to do it even if it was a good friend begging me to take over a guild. The intense raid, gear and achievement focus in WoW combined with the kind of people playing the game just makes it frustrating at best.
I've witnessed first hand in WoW how guild drama over raiding can ruin real life friendships and send the guild ...
Quote outwar6010: "with steam you need a constant internet connection to play games on your pc that you've paid for"

Really? I had a brief net hickup the other day when I tried to launch a game in Steam. I switched to offline mode and then fired up the game without a problem. How come that I was able to do that if Steam requires a constant Internet connection as you claim?
