Arius -- There's a disturbing trend that "real" or "core" gamers completely reject certain types of games. I don't know when FPS became "hardcore" and platformers became "casual," because I had a helluva lot harder time with Mega Man 9 than with Bioshock. Yeah, I preferred the storyline and atmosphere of the later, but the former's difficulty was absolutely wicked.

If it's not Killzone or Halo or COD or Half-Life, some gamers just turn t...

It's embarrassing that most devs haven't pushed the Wii beyond what the GC did (even more embarrassing to not live up to GC graphics).

Galaxy and Corruption looked great. Conduit had the tech, but not the art style (while MadWorld had all the style, but in a short, niche game). Other M, MH3, RS2 and Shattered Memories all look promising. Maybe we can add FFCC to that list.

CW -- I didn't say they couldn't be improved. They obviously can. In an ideal world, Motion Plus is what the Wii should've been capable of on day one. But that doesn't excuse some devs from giving us some truly bad games; if little 'ol HVS can make a great FPS control scheme in Conduit, there's no reason EA or Activision or Ubisoft couldn't have spent the time earlier to get it right.

I think motion controls -- at least IR/pointer aiming -- work a heckuva lot better in some, b...

Day one purchase for me.

I really hope Suda/Grasshopper have made the open world more interesting, though.

As others have said, Thom, there are plenty of games that work much better with motion controls. Heck, I'll take Zelda on Wii over the Gamecube, just because it's a lot easier to use projectile weapons.

The best version of RE4 is on Wii, and it's a shame no one has followed that up with another great third-person shooter.

Dual analog works/worked for SOME games. I have NEVER understood people who think it's the be-all, end-all for FPS. It has not ever come close t...

Remove Wii Music (I'd add World of Goo in its place), and that's not a bad list.

Galaxy, LoZ:TP, Brawl...those go without saying. : )

Both Trauma Centers and Pro Evo's are well worth playing, IMO. RE4, Corruption (or heck, just wait for the full trilogy), No More Heroes...all good stuff, too.

This list reminds me...I really oughta lay off Conduit's online so I can finish Okami...

10 million?

Hasn't Galaxy "only" sold about 8 million copies?

Can't wait for this one.

Most devs haven't even truly pushed the Wii. That may end up extending the console's life just a bit, too.

But "near future" is a matter of perspective. "Near" meaning this year? Of course we won't see a new console now. But in two years? Holiday 2011? I wouldn't be surprised to see a new console from Big N.

Resort and the Prime Trilogy could actually end up being a nice 1-2 summer punch.

No need to insult, amigo. But I'm looking through the gallery on IGN, and there is definitely stuff in MH3 that looks better than FFXII.

Looks like TP with a lot more texture work. And that's a good thing.

I liked WW as much as anyone, but I played TP a few nights ago, and it really does look great for what it is (especially for a GC game; the water looks fantastic). MH3 may not look totally "next gen," but it's sorta "gen-and-a-half" looking to me. Not bad at all.

If this pushes the Zelda team to squeeze every last drop of power out of the Wii, all the better.

No one will deny that Factor 5 did some truly amazing stuff with RS2. Like Metroid Prime, that game stands up graphically to this day, and that's really saying something.

But compare the trees and the foliage in your caps to some of what you see in MH3. That first pic looks great, but look at the droid -- the lighting and shadows are great, but it's on a perfectly pristine white suit (with precious little detail), and look closely at the muddy textures below the foliage on the ...

Wow.

I knew the Wii could do more, but that game truly looks fantastic.

Well said, Product.

MH3 shows how much better games can be on the Wii. Yes, the casual market will still buy mini game compilations, but the core crowd will also still buy well-made Wii games like Zelda.

Nintendo will be rolling out three new versions of its big three -- Galaxy 2, Other M and the next Zelda.

We'll get Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 2, SH: Shattered Memories, and hopefully some good shooters now that HVS has shown the bigger devs the right ...

If we're in the middle of the slump with an economy currently beginning to show signs of life, and the holidays are on the horizon...it makes little sense to cut prices NOW. It gives a three-month window before people will start shopping for Christmas and buying consoles, anyway.

I'd like to say it'd be Capcom, since RE4 on Wii played great. But I don't think they're interested in anything but on-rails shooters right now.

Shhh...no talking sense allowed, man. ; )

I've been saying the same thing as you have, and for some reason, some people think it's a controversial thing. It's not. IR/pointer controls are faster, more precise, and now more customizable than dual analog.

To put it simply, the controls are BETTER, just like PS3/360 graphics are better than what you see on Wii. Once I played Prime 3, dual analog seemed clunky to me.

There's a reason the best version of ...

Indeed. And it's getting quite a library of great Metroid games, too, with the Prime trilogy coming out this month. That oughta keep us occupied for at least a little while.

mrnintendo96 -- Odds are, if MW sells enough on Wii, they'll port over MW2 next year.

Probably isn't too expensive for Activision to even do it. They've already got a modified COD4 engine to play on Wii (with W@W). Hopefully the reason it has taken this long to do is that they've been trying to nail the controls and online.
