I'm not sure if it's a bias against Wii, really. They gave the remake of Okami a good score, even though they weren't wild about the control scheme, and they gave LoZ:TP a perfect score (I'll never understand their score for NMH, though).

I think that, more and more, they just have a bias toward digging high-def FPS at the expense of other genres. That's why I let my subscription expire.

For a pretty flattering review, a B+ seems low (heck...maybe it's a typo).

Especially considering they gave Orange Box a perfect (A+) score:

Prime gives three AAA titles for the price of one, and it gives you the definitive version of the first two because of the far superior controls.

Heck, 1up gave Corruption alone an...

I guess Microsoft would have to drop the 360 Elite down -- the Arcade is already super cheap, but if you're racing to the bottom of the price spectrum, that's where to start.

Nintendo could be interesting. They're usually a bit conservative, so putting the Wii at $199 is to be expected. But they've been anything but conservative this gen. Would they go lower? $175? Even $150? They've been turning a profit since day one, so why not?

Brock -- This probably IS the most competitive gen since SNES/Genesis, IMO. We're getting some great stuff, and we've probably got at least another two years of solid games coming. There are three great consoles out there instead of two this time, so it's all the better for us gamers.

Sony is going to do just fine, regardless. None of the "big three" need saving.

If by "save," the author means that "the PS3 won't overtake the Wii as this gen's top console for overall sales," then he's probably right. The slim PS3 with a cheaper price will cause a reaction -- cheaper versions of Microsoft and Nintendo's consoles, which will have their own sales spike. The "pecking order" has pretty much been established in sales.

The controls aren't just good...they're fully customizable.

http://wii.ign.com/articles...

First the MW port, now RS2. Everyone is copying the scheme HVS came up with. Conduit may not have been the greatest FPS, but its control scheme was the best yet for a console FPS. It's the new standard, apparently. Good on Ubi for adding that in. That's probably one of the reasons for RS2's delay, bu...

Not lame in my opinion. And the controls seem like Metroid Prime 3's, plus adding a sword. I don't know how they could be any MORE intuitive, tbh. I certainly prefer Corruption's control scheme over dual analog, but that's just my opinion.

But Tila...yeah, that's one thing we can all agree on.

OK, we can all relax now on the graphics.

No Wii Speak is a bit of a bummer.

But keeping all the online modes, adding two more players compared to World at War's 8 (but still less than the original, of course), fully customizable motion controls, the same single player with an added drop-in mode...that's impressive stuff, since the Wii wasn't supposed to be able to do any of it.

And Infinity Ward is supervising the game engine's performance?

I think Conduit's days are numbered as best pure FPS o...

No talking sense allowed, Arius. : P

Everyone complained "Conduit isn't Wii's Halo!" at first, but its influence won't be multiplayer or graphics, it's completely on the controls. Even with Conduit's critics, most read the Gamepro review and went "WTF? The controls are the best part."

And in five years, that's what the game will be remembered for -- the first console FPS to have controls precise and customizable enough to rival (but not top) a ...

Heh, "is it hardcore?"

All three Prime games are "core," but Echoes is a freakin' beast. I can't wait to play through it again with the much-improved Wii controls.

Hopefully I'll have played myself into a rut with the trilogy by the time Other M ships.

Wow.

That looks REALLY good. And not "for a Wii game." It looks good, period.

I'd love to give MW a shot if it has good multiplayer on Wii...but if it doesn't, I'll have the Prime trilogy to keep me occupied.

Microsoft is more in danger of being "on the ropes" than Nintendo, IMO, but that's only "on paper" at the moment (we just don't know how this will play out; people at first thought this was another gen of Sony leading things "on paper," after all).

The 360 and PS3 are fighting for a share of one portion of the market; Nintendo aims there, too (please, folks, quit pretending a 60-hour Zelda game is aimed at "casual" gamers, or a boxed Metroi...

I can't wait for SMG2, either...but restating things we already knew from E3 counts as a "preview"? Gimme a break.

Not much to go on. But from what little we have to see, the game looks exactly like everyone thought it would...a less detailed and lower-res version of MW.

I'll gladly take some muddier textures in exchange for far better controls. There is NO excuse to have bad FPS controls on Wii anymore.

...and it sure would be nice to get around friend codes for Wii speak...

As a Wii owner, I'd say a substantial price cut is FAR from "too little, too late." It's making me consider a PS3. GOW3 certainly won't be on any other console.

Technically it's not an exclusive Wii franchise (as noted in the article, it started on the DS), but good pick, nonetheless.

I've seen a few snide comments on here about "playing doctor" regarding this game, but TC is frickin' tough (and that used to count for something in core games; just look at Mega Man 9). Tougher than most "hardcore" games released as of late, and it's one franchise that just wouldn't feel right with dual analog.
