No pun intended...but this game looks sharp.

Everything I've seen from RS2 makes it look like a LOT of effort was put into it. Maybe not a AAA-level budget, but AAA-level effort.

Sadly, I don't think Ubi will bother marketing this game with the same effort.

Perhaps someone thought there were a sufficient number of scares in SH:SM?

Dunno. Gave you an agree, though. ; )

I'd like to see some sort of barebones combat. The flashlight mechanic is brilliant...but you pretty much are holding a MAG light at all times, and those suckers can do some damage.

Oh, they've changed. I don't think that's arguable. They weren't making Wii Fit last gen. And they said "we're done with the graphics wars," which was pretty ballsy.

I just don't get the people who say "they've left their core audience behind." They've put out a LOT of first-party titles that aren't casual games. And the big three hasn't been dumbed down in any way. They're actually going back to make Metroid more old school, it seems.

But I...

TBH, I kinda miss the sandbox. The mini games are fun, but some of 'em feel a little wonky to me (especially in the gym). Love the Rad Racer-esque pizza delivery one, though. I must've played that for an hour alone last night.

It's undoubtedly an improvement on the first; the combat is even tighter, the visuals got bumped up a notch and the bosses are even crazier this time. But I can't help but feel ever-so-slightly underwhelmed. Only because I wasn't expecting anything out...

To be fair, the qualifier used is "in some cases." 60 FPS will be the standard for the majority of gameplay, it seems.

But Ubi's Lyn engine is looking pretty darn formidable. There are some great sparks and particle effects in the gameplay clips I've seen. And I guess it helps to have cel shading, where you aren't having to sacrifice what you can do onscreen by nailing detail/complex texture maps on walls, foliage, etc. at the same time.

I think there could be a great deal of potential in Natal, but without any sort of controller, it'll end up being a very nice Eye Toy. You've gotta have something to control a sophisticated game, because you aren't going to navigate a huge open field in an online FPS by moving around your living room.

Still, I wanna see what some devs come up with.

It's weird. Some people say "Nintendo has changed too much," and others say "they haven't changed at all and are still releasing the same types of games."

The one thing that gets me from the article is this:

"But make no mistake, the company that you grew to love and support during the 80s and 90s is no more, replaced by an impostor that doesn’t have your best interest as a gamer in mind."

Best interest?
Does anyone t...

I just don't get it, man. To me, Nintendo is doing the things they've always done. There have always been lulls in releasing their biggest games. They've always had the mad scientist gene (Virtual Boy, anyone?), and they aren't into always using the same controller every gen.

I don't mean to sleight HD shooters. I love me some COD4 and Bioshock, too. But in 20 years, COD4 will look dated, and if MAG is any indication, the online portion of IW's classic will be antiquated. <...

Just put three hours into it. Stuffed full of win.

If you loved the first game, you'll love this one. I think some of the mini-games are hit and miss (especially at the gym), but everything else is...well, NMH. It's unlike anything else.

How about 85?

"The title plays and looks like the version I demoed extensively during E3, but of course the setting is different and some notable refinements have been introduced. Similar to the first level I saw, the canyon stage sports stylized, quasi-cel-shaded graphics drowned in particle effects like fire and distortion and everything runs at 60 frames per second. The game never so much as hiccups. In fact, Vandenberghe noted that in some cases, the fluidity is locked a...

Seriously? People are still writing garbage like this?

Nintendo is "hardly concerned" with epic versions of their core titles? What do you call Galaxy? We'll be getting a sequel of that very soon.
And when has Zelda been anything BUT epic?...

"Superficially, Desperate Struggle is amazing: The first game's muddy, low-detail, harshly-shadowed characters are completely refined here, boasting greater detail all around. Throw in better animation, flashier effects and even nicer-looking environments as you run around the city, and Desperate Struggle makes itself one of the best-looking Wii games in its category."

Win.

So far, very positive reviews. Can't wait to play this tonight.

There's just too much win out there now.

I had to push back Tat v. Cap for this game (and may have to push that one back further so I can get Tri and RS2).

"No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle makes some big improvements on its predecessor. It’s more funny, it looks better and the 8-bit minigames are a fantastic addition. It's not an exceptionally long game, but it's a tight, lean experience that trims away a great deal of the first game's bloat."

Yet the first game scored higher with them. Weird.

Can't wait to get home and play this.

Yeah, I finally got the hang of its recoil. It's the only gun that I did all of the marksman/expert challenges with (just couldn't resist going for the red tiger camo). It's tied with the M4 as being my favorite overall gun.

I think I only got to level 52, though, so I'll finishing that up. Might be online tonight...in between bouts of NHM2.

EDIT: Good points on Natal. I think it could be a very interesting piece of tech, but I don't think it's going to have the ...

Not me. One of Nintendo's biggest concerns is keeping things affordable; the article notes that being able to release this tech at a competitive price (in 2007) was part of the decision for big N.

And Nintendo already had Wii out there and were presumably working on Motion Plus.

So I don't think it necessarily means bad things for Natal just because Nintendo passed it over. There are certainly other concerns, but we'll see...
