It looks like they just put an Okami-style paper filter over the picture. That's also misleading, maybe moreso than the original shots.
Yes, it washes out a bit of the sharpness to demonstrate differences in resolution, but it also washes the color out of the pic. Getting vibrant colors out of the Wii isn't an issue.
Man, he has it made, then. It must be great to get paid for blind guesswork.
A console on its fourth year in the market won't sell as well as it did in its previous three years? This actually passes for analysis? That's common sense.
About the biggest dropoff for the Wii is that instead of outselling the PS3 and 360 combined, it'll just have to settle for being the top seller. I'm sure they're absolutely heartbroken about this in Kyoto.
Online play is probably the biggest factor. You can lose hours at a time playing online in a fighter or FPS.
With NMH2, you might put in an hour or two here and there, then switch it out and play another game.
Any game with online has better replay value. I haven't beaten NMH2 yet, but when I do, I probably won't go back and play it again for a few months.
Looks promising. Also looks like devs are finally starting to realize that there's extra horsepower in the Wii. Red Steel 2 also looks pretty great. I wonder if this PoP will utilize the same Lyn engine?
That said...it's just two shots. I'll reserve judgment until I see the game in motion.
EDIT: Looks like PoP:FS will use the Jade engine, not Lyn.

It's been a 3-day double-XP weekend, so I've been playing a lot. Haven't come across these types of hacks, though.
Now...plenty of fools running around noob tubing...yeah, THAT is rampant.
I'd argue that the Wii IS the most traditional console out there, simply because that's all it aims to be. It's not a media hub, it's not a blu-ray player, it doesn't try to "do everything." Just like the GC, it exists just to play games.
A five-year old port? I mean...seriously?
COD4 was considered too late, and that was two years.
There better be a heckuva lot added to this (PLUS a discounted price).
"A lot of people say they don't like motion controls because they look gimmicky but I find them to be quite good when done properly, which could almost be said for any type controls to be honest. We can't stay on dual analog forever."

There are some games that just work better with a conventional controller (I just can't get into tilt controls for racing games), but motion controls work fantastic in others.
I doubt that a...
"It's actually the biggest reason. You mentioned 'aside from the motion controls,' but actually, the controller part of the Wii version is the biggest focus that we had, the main element that we wanted to present to the new users."

I call b.s. They're packaging it with the classic controller pro. And there's also this:

Reasons one through five for me are Other M. It's the first proper third-person 'Troid to appear on a home console since Super Metroid back in 1994. And Sakamoto-san is at the helm.
We've already gotten NMH2 and Tat v. Cap. Toss in Metroid, Galaxy 2, S&P2, MH:Tri, RS2, maybe Zelda...yeah, it's gonna be a good year.
retrovertigo -- The thing is, the original NMH is Suda's best-selling game for a home console (and that's with being limited to one console, unlike Killer 7). And if I'm not mistaken, MadWorld is the second-best selling game Clover/Platinum has ever put out (beyond only Bayonetta).
And that's for two games that aren't really very mainstream.
Ditto Extraction. Rail shooters just don't sell like GTA. Plus, there's no way Wii gamers SHOULD have paid $50 for that game...
"It’s a massive improvement over the original with one of the best combat systems seen in a Wii game yet."

With a healthy chunk of customization options, too.
This game looks like it has a metric f*ckton of polish on it.
No Metroid Prime?
System Shock 2 wasn't eligible, but no BioShock?
Heck, I'm not even a Halo fan, but I think you'd have to put Halo 2 on there for the sake of online console gaming.
As previously mentioned, no RE4 either?
I'm a huge fan of Okami, but I don't think I could include it in a top 10 like this (as it's really an homage to Zelda).
Same with Shaddow of the Colossus; I love the hell out of that game, but there's no way ...
Arius -- I decided to click on this one because Bozon (who recently left IGN) gave NMH2 a fair review (IMO). And really, they're pretty fair in this article. They just aren't particularly careful with their facts, though.
Schnazzy -- It's good cop/bad cop with their editorials. Being bad cop generates controversy, which in turn generates page hits. It looks like they're trying to be a little more even handed with Craig Harris taking a bigger part on the Wii side of things. B...
"The fact that I didn't understand what the heck was going on had nothing to do with me not playing the original."
Actually, yes. Yes, it did. Revenge as the central plot point only makes sense if you know what happened in the first game and why it's coming back to bite the anti-hero in the ass. Moving on...

The bosses are mostly less talkative this time around, but the majority of them still represent some sort of societal problem or they're a metaphor for Travis' "struggle."
It boggles my mind that so many reviewers COMPLETELY MISSED the social commentary in the first game. Look at the assassins -- bad father, misogynistic rage-a-holic, abused alcoholic with messed up sexual values, the high school student so bored she looks for dangerous fun...this stuff was much more o...
"Monster Hunter Tri is certainly an impressive and unique experience on the Wii. The only thing that confuses me slightly is why CAPCOM decided to make the game a Wii exclusive title."

Google is your friend.
"'Due to high development cost of titles for PS3, we have decided to switch the platform to which we release our Monster Hunster 3 title,' Capcom managing corporate officer Katsuhiko Ichii said."
bob -- I'd say that MadWorld was actually more of a spiritual successor to Clover's previous beat 'em up, God Hand.
And that g...
