This game just broke my hype meter. I can imagine Sakamoto answering questions on this.
Q: "Is it third person? Is it first person? Is it 2D? Is it 3D?"
A: "Yes."
That is one random dude.
...and I like it. Can't wait to hear about them working with Motion Plus.
tunaks1 -- I won't lie, I'm very anxious (bordering on nervous) to see what the hands-on impressions of this game are. Seems there's an embargo on info till 9 Pacific (midnight EST).
Reggie wasn't kidding when he said this would be old school.
"Nintendo Reveals Hardware and Software Lineup for the First Half of 2010."
Nintendo Reveals LOTS OF WIN for the First Half of 2010.
Fixed.
I am TOTALLY confused, too.
Screen caps like these:

Suggest it's not just a straight 2D plane you're able to move on.
...but the Nintendo re...
I can't wait to hear everyone's hands-on impressions.
They'll be demo-ing the game in private today, with an embargo until 9 pm Pacific (midnight EST).
Get your coffee, folks.
March -- Red Steel 2
April -- Monster Hunter: Tri
May -- Super Mario Galaxy 2
June -- Sin & Punishment 2; Metroid: Other M
...too...much...win.
May 23rd.
Followed by Sin and Punishment.
Then Metroid.
Goodbye, wallet. I will miss you.
It's the deluge of Wii games. They've been storing up, and now we're getting them.
Mario, S&P and Metroid, back-to-back-to-back.
RS2 next month, then MH:Tri, then some Nintendo big guns.
And this meeting didn't even go over Last Story, Xenoblade, Zelda or Retro's secret project.
This is a killer lineup:
March -- Red Steel 2
April -- Monster Hunter: Tri
May -- Super Mario Galaxy 2
June -- Sin & Puni...
In short, win.
6/27/10!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course success is "absolutely crucial."
If you want to make a profit and establish an IP, you can't just have moral victories. The bottom line is green.
gaffyh -- If I'm not mistaken, MadWorld is Platinum/Clover's second most successful game, behind only Bayonetta.
The game was a short, violent, niche brawler with very limited replay value and very rudimentary motion control.
RS2 looks like the first game to really GET sword fighting on the Wii, which seems like a much bigger deal.
But that's just my $0.02.
swiftshot93 -- The Prime trilogy was more about exploration with sporadic enemies tossed in, but not the classic 2D Metroid games. Super Metroid is basically "run, jump, shoot, rinse and repeat." It's full of action.
However, it's not full of the type of physical action the trailer shows.
But this one is under the eyes of Sakamoto. The guy that directed Super Metroid. If there's anyone we can trust with Metroid, it's him.
Yep. Ubi looks like they really knocked this one out of the park.
It's like this year is the Wii deluge -- Mario, Metroid, NMH2, Tat v. Cap, RS2, MH:Tri...maybe Xenoblade and the Last Story? There's a big hole in the holiday schedule, so Zelda or Retro?
Been a good year already, and it's going to get better.
First three, sure.
The last two...I can understand why they were listed, but there could very well be quite a few more heavy hitters. Last Story? Xenoblade? Retro's secret project? Pikmin 3? The long-rumored Kid Icarus?
Rush them? Dude, Other M has been in the pipeline since the Wii launched in 2006.

By the release of SMG2, it'll have had 2.5 years in development (but will have a jumping off point in having a ready-made graphical engine from its precursor).
WIN!!!!!!!!!!!

June for Mario, August for Metroid?
That leaves a biiiiiiiiiiig hole in the holiday release schedule. Retro? Zelda?
Best. Year. Ever.
No need to worry about an overly jiggly Samus.
She'll be in her Varia suit during gameplay.
Team Ninja isn't doing the cinematics (where we might see her in the Varia suit), a team called D-Rockets is.
Nintendo R&D1 + Team Ninja + D-Rockets = Project M
OK, then every sequel that doesn't completely reinvent a series is "lame," in your book. That's just foolish.
SMG2 looks like Galaxy, but kicked up a notch. That's a GOOD thing.
