:sigh:
The wait is getting unbearable.
The first one (snow, explosion on the overpass) actually looks pretty sharp, IMO.
Some of the others don't hold up as well, but they all look better than the leaked trailer from yesterday.
I'm on the fence with the new Zelda art style, too. I love WW and TP...and this is sort of a middle path. So I should absolutely love it.
Yet I'm just not feeling it. At least, yet.
OTOH, the 3DS completely raped the show. Holy crap.
At first, watching this online, I was like "WTF?"
Then the more I watched, the more I loved it. This really does look incredibly inventive.
I thought Nintendo did fine LAST year, which was a rebound after a pretty mediocre 2008. Last year we got SMG2, Other M and NSMB. Good stuff.
But the 3DS is just freaking beastly. So this is where all the third-party support was for Nintendo, huh? ;)
There isn't a much bigger way to kick off a conference than with Zelda. The hands-on articles making the rounds have me relieved that the controls are spot-on. That's the most important thing. I dig the menu interface, too. Point to what you want, equip, use.
All of that said...I'm just not feeling the visuals yet. I mean...I love the WW style, and I love the TP style. This is kind of meeting in the middle...so I should frickin' love it. But I'm sor...
The 3DS completely raped E3, IMO. Sora's KI, plus a metric f*ckton of third party support? Geez.
Well, well, well. Very nice. Now if we can just totally ditch friend codes...
Big ups, HVS. I'm not yet sold on C2, but you're keeping my attention.
Better late than never.
Guys (you know who you are), I'll definitely talk to you soon.
I can't remember the last time I was so conflicted toward a trailer.
On one hand, there's a lot of win material there. Melee-only online mode and splitscreen? Frickin' WIN.
OTOH, parts of that trailer looked pretty bad (and I'm being excessively charitable -- showing the playable characters looked horrible). But I'm hoping that's Activision pulling another MWR on us -- showing an early build of the game.
Umm...Midna WAS a bit of an anti-hero. She manipulated Link up until the very end (using him to get to Ganon and Zant), and really didn't see any error in her dismissive, sarcastic, manipulative ways until her fate became entwined with the light world's after the Lakebed Temple.
:sigh:
Nothing against DK, but I REALLY hope Retro is working on their own new IP.
Hmmm...really? I just find it hard to believe Nintendo being able to keep these secrets for so long, only to leak 'em out two days before E3.
Streamlined dungeons and a harder difficulty level? Sign me up.
I'm not holding my breath on it, but if it turns out to be true, very cool.
Equal parts old and new. I loved TP, but it's time to shake up the formula.
Zelda and The Last Guardian at the same show.
Let that sink in.
:sigh:
I agree with the essence of the article, but the definition of "mature" is apparently incredibly narrow for the dudebro gaming demographic.
Just look at how many people missed the ENTIRE PLOT of Twilight Princess. "It's just about saving Zelda again, right?" Well, no, as the subtitle of the game doesn't even refer to her; and the game is all about the redemption of Midna and the Twili, the corrupting influence of power, an...
Wait...didn't he justify this whole "Wii HD" thing a while back by saying "there IS a Wii HD...it just happens to be the PS3 with Move"?
Why yes, yes he did.
http://www.pushsquare.com/1...
How much longer are people going to listen to this @$$hat?
And if it's true the the Move bundl...
With all due respect to S&P2 (which I will eventually buy), it's Other M, and then everything else. The first third-person console 'Troid since 1994? Yes, please.
Don't make us wait so long next time, Sakamoto.
The wait for this game is killin' me.
You know it's a strange conference for Microsoft when barely anyone is talking about Halo.
Truly new, innovative stuff always wins E3. Move and Kinect may certainly get some good software, but they're follow ups (4 years later) to Nintendo's motion controls.
The 3DS? There hasn't been anything exactly like it. Plus, it gets a metric f***ton of third party support, AND Sora's Kid Icarus game?
