I own two Wiis. TWO Wiis. Is that not the most ridiculous thing you ever heard? I hate region locking. It affects a small minority of gamers but that minority gets absolutely screwed.
I totally agree, but I want a Wii U :-/
The title of the article is exaggerating quite a bit. There have been many more important games for Nintendo over the years.
Ignoring the silly title, the article's point is actually amazing. And I honestly think whoever comes up with the ideas at Nintendo is a certified genius.
Nintendo Land is basically the Wii Sports of the Wii U. Everyone knows this. It's designed to show people why having a touchscreen interface for a console is revolutionary l...
Well of course the GamePad shouldn't be defined as a tablet. It's a controller for the Wii U. That's all it does. Unless the entire definition of a tablet is "has a touchscreen" then this doesn't fit.
...What? That's crazy. No wonder Nintendo is all about region locking.
And vice versa! They don't release any Lego games here for some bizarre reason. I want to play Lego City on the Wii U!
I'll still be picking up a Wii U of course. I saw this coming, but I'm still disappointed. I get that if you sell a game for $40 in one region and $60 in another you don't want people just importing the cheap one. That's global economics. But, if you release a game in one region with no plan to release it in another, why lock it? Then you get zero sales from one region instead of a couple thousand from importers.
Actually the only confirmation we have so far on resolutions is that the Wii U can do 1080p but 1st party launch games will only run at 720p, including Mario wiiu (New Super Mario Bros. U). I tried to find any other confirmation of resolutions but all I could find are articles about Mass Effect definitely being 1080p as well as articles saying Mass Effect definitely will NOT be 1080p.
This article says Assassin's Creed and Batman will run at 1080p but it doesn't seem...
Heck yeah, Pilotwings! I'm still waiting for my true sequel to the n64 one. I mean what's up with no birdman and little states on the 3DS?
I agree with you but what I think DigitalAnalog meant was that they should have addressed the issue by explaining to fans why their game is being published by Nintendo instead of Sega.
I'm a hardcore American civil war reenacter. I'm a hardcore scrapbooker. I'm a hardcore old timey memorabilia collector. I guess gaming is the only hobby where people describe themselves as hardcore with a straight face. Strange because when I play games I'm usually just sitting on the couch which doesn't strike me as being very hard or core.
I agree that digital media is the future, but that's not a good argument for the Wii U. Its online is untested and it has a tiny amount of built in storage. Of course I'm old and still prefer owning physical things so that doesn't really affect me.
Omarzy, well at least they're good at commenting first on Nintendo articles.
Edmix, 4K? Does that mean I'll have to get a second job to buy a PS4 AND a new TV?
I'm sure it's fine.
I laughed. Also I like your list.
I heard this game was something like My First Castlevania but after watching that trailer you can really see how much they took from Symphony of the Night. If I found this game cheap somewhere I might pick it up.
SmartGlass looks cool. I'd give it a shot. Of course the Wii U has a better system but that doesn't make SmartGlass any less cool.
I agree that the system is innovative and I can't wait to pick mine up but I don't know if the creative director of a Wii U launch title being quoted in a Nintendo magazine is an unbiased source.
Good choice! This was a pretty interesting game. I've been thinking of picking up the sequel.
