Yeah yeah, all Nintendo systems have gimmicks, we get it. In fact I think we should start replacing the word gimmick with "an interesting aspect of a Nintendo system". Or if that sounds too positive you could break out the dusty thesaurus and replace gimmick with "contrived object". Or you could just keep using the word gimmick and make me question whether or not I've already read this article a hundred times on a hundred different blogs.

It's a shame well researched and written articles like this don't get a lot of attention since they don't have inflammatory headlines.
With the amount they've been demoing this game I thought for sure it was launching with the Wii U. Oh well, I'm planning on getting it but I probably wouldn't have gotten it day one anyway.
You're the worst naruto ever
I don't know why people are disagreeing with you.
The Wii launch was weird. They had a ton of units available on launch day and then just none after that. I don't know if that was on purpose but it sure was fishy. They certainly didn't seem to be concerned about the lack of available product since they refused to ship any by airmail and sent them all by boat. Of course all the consoles this generation were nearly impossible to get the first couple months after la...
Googling 'Wii lifetime sales' I found this: http://www.nintendolife.com... The Wii was at 96,560,000 when this article was written. It probably won't hit 100 mil but it's still a lot of units.
The Wii is definitely a wife friendly system. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is good for co-op wife play and e had a lot of fun getting every coin in NSMB Wii. Rright now we're playing through the VC Secret of Mana. The Wii didn't have a lot of third party support but it's hard to beat when it comes to family games.
Blind Nintendo fanboys already preordered. If they didn't, they don't deserve the honor of being called a blind Nintendo fanboy.
I just want to know when I can finally preorder mine. I heard end of October but no specifics.
That was a great article. I never realized I had no idea how developers got better at designing for a system throughout its life cycle. This gave me a lot of insight.
Though it wasn't mentioned explicitly in the article it seems this bodes well for the Wii U. Even if the Wii U is underpowered compared to the other big 2, it won't mean the Wii U will outright miss multiplats since the architecture will be similar.
I'm probably looking forward to this game way more than I should be. What I really want to know is will all versions be the same? It might be fun to have on 3DS to bring it anywhere.
Haha@Portal 2
Lower prices and give us actual accounts so we don't lose our games when our system dies. I will NEVER download a full game without it being tied to an account. Too risky.
My DS Lite was stolen. I lost that plus the few games that were in the case. I still have 10+ other games that weren't with it. This is where having an account would have been awesome since I wouldn't have lost any games. On the flip side, if all my games were digital I would have lost ALL my ga...
I can't believe Super Mario Bros. was released two years after the Famicom was launched in Japan. That's a long wait for a good game.
There was a second there where I thought I grasped Miku's comment, but then it fluttered away like a timid butterfly.
I like the way Nintendo is taking video game social networking if the 3DS is any indication. The neat stuff you can do with street pass makes me carry my 3DS everywhere. If they can make Miiverse just as interesting and fun then I'm all for it. Reggie said, "Until you try it and experience it, you may not totally understand it" which makes me think of how street pass was before I tried it.
It sure makes them a lot of money though.
More like "can allow you to take it on the stay".
Not that I care. That's why portable systems exist.
In the video of the cross controller play demo for lbp2 there was lag. I agree that from a hardware standpoint there should be no lag like the Wii U so maybe it was just a software issue that can be ironed out.
I don't really care about region locking when it comes to games that are released in all regions, but when a game is only released in one region with no plans to release it elsewhere why region lock it?
