Whoa whoa whoa, DC was more powerful than the PS2? I never heard that before but I decided to do some research. I couldn't find any hard facts, just people comparing God of War to Shenmue, which of course isn't fair since GOW was made 5 years after Shenmue. The only thing I could find that sounded legitimate comes from a forum post made by a well respected guy that codes for emulators. According to him the DC was indeed more powerful and posted some screenshots to illustrate his point...
Most people who watch Netflix on their TV do so through their Wiis.

I'm guessing Nintendo took notice and decided to take it to the next step.
That was some darn good reasoning. Bubble up.
If this can play movies and TV shows from a HDD it could replace my HTPC.
It's powered by a miniature black hole
Haha, yeah, I thought about Duke Nukem when I wrote that. Maybe it only applies to games that end up being worth the wait.
I'm one of the people who said the Wii U ought to be more powerful because it's new. I don't mean that as a slight against it. I just think it will be more powerful... because it's new...
It uses modern ram, modern architecture in the gpu and cpu, and a quick blu-ray based disc drive. Just how much better it will preform, we'll have to wait and see, but I've got my preorder and I'm excited.
I agree. It's also not THAT long a wait. I think it was Miyamoto who said something along the lines of once a game is released no one remembers how long the wait was, just how good the game is.
Well, there's always the sequel to look forward to.
I own two pairs of Sennheiser headphones that I got about 7 years ago. One is an $80-ish set of cans and the other is a pair of $15 earbuds. I love those earbuds. I've used them everyday since I got them. When they finally break I'm going to bury them in a shoebox in my backyard.
@T900
I don't think Nintendo ever said the Wii had top end hardware. All they said was that it had 2 gigs of ram and that, as usual, they don't believe great graphics are the be all end all.
Kind of reminds of Ultima Online back in the day. A guy figured out an exploit that would allow him to kill anyone, so he assassinated Lord British, AKA Richard Garriott.
Yeah, this game definitely looks like more of the same. Of course I had a blast playing co-op on the Wii version so that's not totally a bad thing. I'll pick this up eventually, probably sooner than later.
Well it's certainly the newest console so I'm not terribly surprised.
I got to be honest, I don't remember this time period you speak of :). I used to argue with my friends in grade school about which was better, the SNES or the Genesis.
They're bad in that they distract from other balanced, well researched articles. Still, they do tend to at least be interesting, especially the comments.
Sometimes an author will write an article with a trolling headline and then complain when fanboys flock to the comments to disagree. If they want those hits that trolling titles draw in they need to be prepared to reap what they sow.
wishingW3L was being subtlely sarcastic.

There was a period at the end of the link. This should work.
Man, how big is Platinum Games? I guess they're just finishing up The Wonderful 101 now, they're working on Bayonetta 2, and Metal Gear Rising. I always had this image of them being a smaller developer but they can sure handle a lot of big projects at one time.
That was excellently worded. But, I disagree with you that the Wii U is not next gen, simply based on the added ram and modern CPU/GPU.
I think this is the first time I clicked disagree AND bubble up. But there you are then, bubbles to you.
