You can't upscale an image and expect it to look as good as a native image. No matter what there is going to be some sacrifice of visual fidelity. MS tried to sharpen the image to enhance the textures so that it did not appear any less sharp than 1080p textures. By removing the filter you are back at the original texture sharpness. That is why the image looks blurrier. If you liked the sharper image just turn the sharpness on your tv all the way up. You should get a similar effect. But th...
Everyone is missing that the source is saying that Witcher 3 is only running at 900p on PS4. That is kind of disappointing. That would be the second PS4 title to be sub 1080p.
Edit: Nevermind I see they are still working toward 1080p.
It's a positive because it would have been better on PS4. So if you are an XB1 fanboy, 3rd party exclusives are a victory. Simply put, since they'll never be able to say it's better on XB1, they can say, you can't get it on PS4.
Haha, you are right I guess if you bought an XB1. Since the XB1 can only compete if the game is exclusive, I can see where this would be a positive for XB1 fans. For Sony fans though, every multiplatform game will be better. I don't really care because I will play this game on PC, maybe. Or I might just skip it.
While I'm still very excited about this game, I'm not going to defend RaD decision. The game should render at the resolution that fills the screen. I feel really bad for people who game on anything less than a 32 in screen because the image is going to be so small. I game on 46 in TV. You are losing more than 25% of the screen area. It's not too bad on 46 in TV, but the smaller the screen the more annoying it will likely become. 16:9 is a compromise between the theatre and home an...
It doesn't matter how fast the XB1 sells if Sony still ends up with 60 percent or better of market share. MS depends on third parties for exclusives and the bigger the gap in market share the less MS will be able to get third party exclusives. This is good for gamers, but it only makes the PS4 that much more attractive.
It's not going to be a huge system seller because it is on 360 and PC. If you want a PS4 and have either the 360 or the PC I just don't see Titanfall convincing you to buy the XB1. If you were going to buy an XB1 regardless or you don't have a 360 or a capable PC then maybe you'll pick up an XB1 if you can't live without Titanfall. However, my guess is that many COD fans can live without because they are still playing Ghost.
It's all about market share though if the PS4 continues to out sell the XB1 by 2:1 it won't be long before MS cannot lock down 3rd party exclusives and might even lose some bigger titles, especially from JP developers. The longer PS4 out paces XB1 sales the harder it will be to turn that trend around. Sony was able to beat MS in worldwide sales last gen, but there is little to no chance for the XB1 to do that. Simply put, Europe is nearly lost and JP is definitely lost for the XB1 alr...
@Septic
Wow that's a lot just to say, "I like Titanfall eve if it is a COD clone." The problem is not that it plays like COD. COD is obviously still the most popular thing going right now in FPS. The problem is that this has been touted as the end all be all fps game changer of the new console generation. Why? Because MS needs it to be that because the XB1 is not selling well compared to the PS4. XB1 sales are great compare to last gen timeframe, but that just d...
I think Xbox would fail if this happened. Of course I'm 100 percent sure it won't happen. If thee are talks between the two is is probably about competition for PS Now. This just doesn't make sense with how hard MS is fighting for exclusive rights, etc. if it were true the implications would be huge. Would MS studios stay exclusive and would the deal include dev studios? Would Amazon continue to sell Sony and Nintendo products? Would Xbox become generic? Yeah, I feel like this wou...
I was thinking almost the same thing.
There is a dirty part of me that hopes this game flops just because of all the hype. Gamers crying over it not being on their system and others applauding back room deals to keep it exclusive. The gamer in me hopes it is successful, but the love for irony in me hopes it fails miserably.
Sorry man, I'm going to be a little bit of a jerk. But how does a game strive for anything? I think what you mean is every developer should set forth with a goal of 1080p 60fps. I don't necessarily agree but I think every PS4 developer should at least strive for native 1080p with a solid 30fps, depending on the game. 60 fps offers little benefit in an RPG or platformers and I would rather the extra hp be used for larger environments and better effects.
Whoa, calm down everyone has an opinion. Wii U has some great games, but honestly. You are not going to convince someone who says he's getting his girl a Wii U. That's code for I want a Wii U but can't admit it because I'm too cool. Chill man, the PS4 and Wii U both occupy space under my TV and should your's too.
RPGs do not have to push graphics to be innovative. The Xenoblade battle system was quite fun. The graphics for this game look great to be honest. Xenoblade had some massive environments, and the game actually looked quite good. I'm excited for PS4 RPGs but I doubt that any of them will be as fun as this game, even if more eye candy.
Xenobalde was one of the best RPGs I have played in a long time. I can't wait for this, it is currently my #1 anticipated announced Wii U game.
It's a side scroller. The game does not push either system. I guess the systems are very close for this type of game because it doesn't push either of them.
This was actually my first PC game. I had a Pentium II with 128MB RAM. I don't know like a 16MB graphics card. It had DVD ROM. It was actually pretty rockin for the day. PII had just come out.
Agreed, but the optimizations mean that these are not exact replicas of the cards that are in the PS4 and XB1 and the console cards are probably a little more capable than what these cards would be in a PC. I am not sure exactly what optimizations the XB1 card has other than esRam, but I know that Mark Cerny talked a lot about the ACE cores. I'm excited to see what these cores can do for future games when utilized in the fashion they will be on consoles. I don't see these optimization...
You have review scores for each version that don't appear for both. The game is rated exactly the same. Why would ps4 get lower scores for running the game at a higher frame rate. Your desperation is bordering on delusional now.
