I think the more obvious reason for this release is what everyone seems to fail to see. If TLOU remake comes this year it is probably because UC4 is not going to make a 2014 launch. I don't want this to be true but my gut tells me that it makes too much sense.
Apparently some one at SP likes Nintendo. Some R&C games had Nintendo references as well, this is nothing new.
It's the non-religious atheist crowd upset about the content of the poster's prayers. I'm not saying all atheist are that way, but a lot of them can't stand even the notion that someone prays to a higher being.

Infamous SS delivered the promised visuals and did so with a solid framerate. I agree the gameplay could have been more innovative and the story better, but it delivered the goods visually. I think a shake up at Sony is happening, some people leave when those things occur even if they were not asked to. I hope this is for the best, but loosing talented individuals rarely is.
Dual Titans, yay! Oh no DX12 on the horizon, I'll never get the chance to max out my rig! :(. Look there is always something bigger, better, and shinier. I'm not disappointed with my Ford Fusion because Lambos exist. I'm happy with a reliable vehicle that does what it's supposed to do. That is why I like my PS4, I put a PS4 game in, and it works. I don't have to tweak the settings and I didn't pay $3000 for it just to be obsolete tomorrow.

Hopefully pj Morpheus will be extended to the PC platform. It would be a good move for Sony as it would increase sales which would in turn make the PS4 more likely to get supporting titles.
Too early to tell if VR will pan out, but if the naysayers had their way no one would even try. There are really only two ways I can think of to do VR, one is a headset, the second involves a Holodeck. He left in February to start his own Indie firm. You don't just get laid off and then start your own business. I am pretty sure this was planned. As for the other lay offs, there is definitely a re organization happening. It is necessary, Sony needs to make money again. These positions may have been redundant or no longer necessary. Let's not forget how much harder the PS3 was to develop for, if the PS4 is a lot easier, they might not need as many developers.
Vita would be nice, I mean why not? I don't even care if the upgrade the graphics, just make it render in Vita's native res.
Restructering is a necessary evil. Will this affect current projects? Maybe, but who knows, they could have been over staffed. It could have been admin people.
I have the game and think its great. I'll admit it can be a little repetitive, but the game moves along a lot faster than either of the other infamous games. To say it's all flash and no substance, I could see where maybe an open world fan could get that impression, but Infamous to me is one of the only open world games I actually complete. It's meant to be completed and not so big that you just never finish it. I like the characters and the game a lot, it's a 9 by my standard...

How developers use a system's power is up to them. They should focus on the best overall game experience. Both systems are capable of outputting 1080p and 60 fps. What it comes down to is how good is the game engine and how hard do you push game assets and effects.

I have a few ideas, 1. Up give options similar to PC emulators. Those things render in higher resolutions and enhance textures. 2. Give us games that people actually want. 3. Reduce the prices. 4. GameCube games
