Well, as a PC gamer this was good news.
PC 2K@60
@DrSteveBrule2:
"Yeah have fun with that."
Well, you can be sure PC gamers will. It's not about having 4K today but that day is definitely coming and not even far away. The pace of technologies go forward is incredible.
@DrSteveBrule2: One big problem is that XBox is based on totally closed technologies. Even if FB would own XBox their couldn't do much with it without MS.
Unfortunately an another problem is that consoles are not capable of decent VR experience; >1080p@60.
PC is open and with SteamOS easily most open gaming environment ever. PC is moving fast toward 4K and will have easily enough power to run >1080p, 1440p, 2K and 4K VR experience. PC is perfect fo...
Well, that's how PC gamers feels all the time. Now they are stuck with "next-gen" consoles next five to seven years.
Fortunately it is not total disaster; PC gamers are able to move smaller computers like Intel NUC. Intel NUC with Broadwell is able to give "next-gen" console experience 1080p@30-60.

Oculus Rift is now stronger than ever and with Facebook it is going to have much more visibility among "masses".
Project Morpheus is OK but unfortunately it is for PS4 only, it's totally locked up device (SDK/API) and it's technology is not good enough (1080p is bare minimum).
So Facebook bought Oculus Rift for $2 billion and their next step is to kill it?
Since Project Morpheus is for PS4 on totally locked proprietary device it is not even a choice for PC gamers.
The second and much more bigger problem is that it is not technically good enough. 1080p is bare minimum for VR and Oculus Rift has plans way beyond that.

Microsoft is gets tighter vendor lock-in. DX12 will help X1 and PCs that runs Windows. It will also help Windows tablets and phones.
DX12 is incompatible with all other devices other than the ones that are running Windows. This means lots of more work for game developers.
DX12 is nice for Windows users.
Can't wait the next version of OR which takes one more step forward from DK2.

Looks still interesting but I'm not hyped. Way too much hype about AAA games these days.
Watch_Dogs 1920x1200@60 on my PC
You mean SteamOS and Linux in general as well? Wow, sounds big step forward indeed!
I'm using SteamOS as my gaming OS and all controllers I own works without problems; keyboard+mouse, Logitech F510 and XBox controller. F510 and XBox contollers for console games; platformers and keyboard+mouse to all others.
Steam Controller seems to be functional for many PC game genres unlike analogue stick controllers.

At least now people knows how PC gamers feels about consoles.
Well, I don't personally believe they downgraded visuals this much.
I wish there would be PC shooters again. S.T.A.L.K.E.R was the last one. After that there has been only generic console shooters.
Because kamikaze8 wants "clicks" to his examiner.com website.
1920x1200@60 on my PC. Unfortunately the game looks typical modern game - simplified "press 'Y' to make a trick".
I'm mostly interested in strategy (RPG) and 4X games.

@neoandrew: "So what? Any other comparable gpu will fit, performance per watt hasn't changed much, not to mention, most gamers don't use OEMs."
Not many GPUs runs without extra power connector like GTX 750 cards does. GTX 750 Ti is just a cheap way to get even old and limited PCs to okeyish next-gen console level gaming PCs. I don't see the problem.
Nice entry level card. Sure, Intel NUC with Broadwell can do a lot as well if they manage...
It just shows that we have now a new cheap graphics card in the market. One can upgrade his old OEM PC and get an next-gen console level of gaming PC.
Additionally those PCs usually has good enough CPUs so they can be used for more demanding games and not just action games and shooters.
@Lior:
It's worth to keep in mind that console gamers are not interested more complex games (otherwise they would not play with consoles). The games fdkenzo listed are typical AAA simplified platform, shooter and point&click adventure games.
I personally enjoy grand strategy games and deep RPGs; UE4, CK2, MUDs, etc. They are type of games consoles doesn't have.
