Big mistake. The Wii is turning a generation of gamers into lobotomized dingbats waving a remote around. Nintendo is going to destroy gaming as we know it, and I'm not saying that to be sensational, because we really should be alarmed.
If you love hardcore gaming, it will soon be synonymous with retro gaming if Sony and Microsoft don't start putting their heads together and stop ripping the other's throat out.
Last place literally means they are NOT dominating. They might be your favorite, but that doesn't change one iota of reality.
I already got a PS3 so I could have an informed opinion of the situation... and no, the PS3 is NOT poised for dominance.
Wishful thinking != news.
I suppose my opinion isn't valid because I'm not a "true believer" and didn't have "faith" in what Sony PR said... and then saw a completely different reality from everyone else? The answer is "no, I'm not a member of the cult".
The PS3 is poised for dominance, he says. Why is is poised for dominance? Because he says it is.
I get really sick of these junk articles. The PS3 is in last place. Once it outsells the 360 and the Wii, it will be poised for dominance. Right now, it is literally poised to be dominated up and down the charts.
This is just more "wait and see". And those of us who got burned by Home, Haze, and Lair are a little sick of all the promises.
I tend to agree, but maybe these licks are what MS need to break into Japan.
It's funny that when someone says "it won't be easy" there is always someone else who doesn't make it to the conclusion "it's going to be f**king hard". But if there is any constant in this crazy crazy world we are in, it's that Microsoft will do everything they can to eventually win whatever war they are fighting.
That's not to say they don't lose sometimes. But you ha...
Indeed... some people just don't get sarcasm.
And ain't you a pretty little case-in-point...
I'd like to see Home become something better, but it's not there yet.
Imagine a honeycomb of user created spaces you could get endlessly lost in. That would be something worth exploring...
It's about time. Now, maybe someone should agree on a standard for comparison between XBL gamerscore and PSN trophies. Honestly, I like achievements more, but trophies would be a better base system. Achievements with a certain score equal bronze, silver, or gold, with a 1000 GS yielding a Plat.
For now on, just use the automated repair services on the website: all the same services without the Indi-glish.
Ahem...
THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE A HALO 4!!! The Halo trilogy ended on a definitive note and the planet he was allegedly floating to is the start of an entirely new arc.
I have no doubt there will be other "Halo" games, but it will not be a Bungie made "Halo 4". It will be something like "Halo Chronicles: Peter Jackson and the Search for More Stories He Can Awkwardly Staple His Name To".
This generation isn't about Microsoft vs. Sony vs. Nintendo. It's about Core Gamers vs. Waggle Idiots.
If Microsoft and Sony stop going for each others throats, we can avert the industry death spiral for another generation and focus on dismantling the cancer that is Nintendo once and for all. I don't want my children growing up in a gaming world where gamers are lobotomized retards and games pitch to the lowest common denominator. Let games remain complex and the world will gr...
I'll agree on the price. But it wouldn't have been such a factor were it not for the RROD. I'm convinced the 360 would be going toe to toe with the Wii if the consumers had more confidence in the hardware.
@Eddie: The the last f**king time, you can't align launches and expect any sort of comparison to be valid. It just does not work that way. Microsoft took a year jump start and had the RROD. Sony waited but had a more stable hardware and an extra year of development time. ...
Then we will buy and play games that appeal to what we want to play. That's Guerrilla's and Sony's loss.
All I ask is that they have some consistency in the control style. It's like a cross between Halo's controls and COD's accuracy model. Choose one, already! We should be sighting our guns with a trigger, not a stick click.
Killzone 2 is going to make the multi-mission-in-a-single-sess ion gametype a standard. That's my prediction. That's one of the innovations I truly appreciate. Beyond that, I really hope the tilt sensor gimmick doesn't stick...
Sony: Leveraging ghetto culture since 2000.
It's funny we haven't heard about Playstations in Escalades for a while...
Of course, I wouldn't put a 360 in a moving vehicle either. *GRIND*
You can't win. Sony has too much of N4G on their payroll. This isn't about logic... it's about following what the giant Kaz head says.
Darkride: I hope you watch all your movies a lot. When I rent a movie from XBL or PSN, that's probably the last I'll ever see of it. I really don't get your obsession with owning a physical disk. What are you going to do, build a fort with the cases? What happens when the next generation of media comes around and you start buying those agai...
Between Netflix and downloads on the 360 and PSN, iTunes, full eps on network websites, and... other distribution channels... I have no desire to get Blu-ray disks. If I did, it would be through Netflix cause there is positively NO WAY I'm paying that much for the same crappy movie.
It's like looking at a turd. In SD, it's a brown blob in the shape of poo. In HD, I can trace the folds of the colon in the finished product... but it's still a piece of crap, regardless of how cle...
I rail against Nintendo for making gamers into lobotomized nitwits, but this kind of thinking is what we call the Hardcore Death Spiral and it's the reason Nintendo is kicking everyone's @$$ right now.
If we aren't good enough, we don't deserve to enjoy the game? What happens when the people you are better than stop playing and someone claims YOU shouldn't play because you suck. Eventually, one person is stuck playing a game they are the best at but they have no one to play aga...
Realism is one of those principled reactions that we in the game industry should be familiar with.
Premise: Games are bad for children
Reaction: Ban certain games
Result: More kids get games because they are forbidden fruit
Premise: We want games that are more realistic
Reaction: Games that control more realistically
Result: Controls feel awkward
See, you think you want realism, but when it comes down to it, you just want to...
There was this story about a girl who touched a Backstreet boy and had a spontaneous orgasm.
That's what Killzone 2 cultists sound like.
