You mean it didn't have MMS until now? Wow, that blows my mind.

You still spent more money than you may have wanted to. The "tenuous" comment is VERY valid... unless you are already predisposed to believe anything Sony says.

What people don't understand is that you don't "save" money by spending more money. At $200, you can buy a logically complete next-gen gaming system, where you are still only half way to owning a PS3. I suppose you have to be a "true believer" before you see the value in a PS3.

Sure, I can agree... but I got mine with gift cards. It was worth the extra $100 I had to plunk down to get the version with back compat.

But I still play my 360 about 5 hours for every one hour I have a dualshock in my hands...

The value proposition works the way it should without a company whining "we gave you everything you want; why aren't you buying."

The fact that they aren't buying is proof conclusive that the value is lacking, not because of some desparate MS-lead media conspiracy. Sony first-and-foremost tried to shove Blu-ray down the gaming public's throat and the majority of gamers said no... we can put two and two together and we know it's a waste. Get over it.

And t...

Ham-fisted? Convoluted, over-dramatic, impossibly-contrived, self-referential... and now ham-fisted? Someone woke up on the wrong side of the pile of cash this morning.

Yeah, I admit I bought HW for the H3 maps. But I ended up spending more time in HW than in H3 recently. I don't think anyone was deceived. In fact, I'm glad someone turned me on to RTS this way.

If you don't "get" Halo 3 and are honestly open to trying to understand, get a group of 3 players together and play through the game on the hardest difficulty. That becomes much more tactical once the enemy snipers can bring you down with one shot.

You're forgetting that Microsoft gives you a full year warranty on ANYTHING going wrong and three years on the most common faults. MS backs it's product through it's issues, despite it costing them a BILLION dollars. That should give you confidence.

Just because a game is marginally older doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be played. In fact, in our economy right now, shouldn't we praise games with more staying power? Doesn't that mean our money goes farther?

Maybe because Halo with a handful of friends is more fun than people want to give it credit for. Just a thought.

Watch carefully who approves this. They would be the HHG approval cartel, and such, should be run out of town like so many drug dealers.

I would have bailed out Free Radical. Haze was an utter bomb. You can't deny that. No really... you can't. But that company did some awesome things. For instance... they paid overtime. That's almost unheard of. That's the kind of company I would want to support with my tax dollars.

So, Halo 2 has a cliffhanger ending and it sucks... but Killzone 2 has a cliffhanger ending in the same vein and it's amazing? That's the poster child for double stnadards.

I love my Xbox. I love my Halo. I... sorta like my Gears. I think Kaz Hirai is a moron. I think Killzone 2's MP is awesome. And I LOL and everyone who already disagreed with me before I praised Killzone 2 for something.

Consider how much is really going on in game here. Not much. Even the 360 could handle this if all it has to do is grass. If you add more details to the game, you have to get that processing power somewhere. Despite the delusions of certain fanboys, the Cell has a limited amount of processing power...

Why are we STILL seeing glorified tech demos this far into the console's life cycle? I'm not fooled by calling this an "art game". Screw that.

And screw PSN. If this game were on XBL, there would be a demo. Then, there might be a chance in hell I'd buy it.

Agree with Godofthunder. Have a much needed bubble for your rational thought.

And the game started getting attacked because, historically, when a game puts up a target render like that, it's always disappointing. It's a boast... it's a nigh unattainable promise. And while I will admit that Killzone 2 had to be an UNFATHOMABLY well managed project to attain the level of actual performance it did, it still fell short of the target render, if even by just a little bit.

There is no "rule" that triggers a game going into classic versioning. It's purely a business decision. Imagine someone who is on the fence about buying a system. They can now get some of the better games on the system without the increased sticker shock at the checkout counter. Imagine saving up X hundred and having the register ask you for X+1 hundred dollars because you wanted a game. Most people could see that coming, but it hurts no less in this platform-mediated market wo...
