First, that's seven cores... the chips that come off with eight working cores go to aerospace and medical equipment.

Second, could you possibly believe that 7 vastly slower cores COULD as a whole be slower than 3 faster cores? 7 might be bigger than 3... until you multiply them by their actual clock speeds.

I'm not saying that's true or not... I don't know the actual clock speeds for each core... but don't try and talk about what you don't know.

You cannot stand up and say "PS3 games look better because I'm awesome and I'm sure you will agree with a person that is awesome." It's a matter of opinion. And regardless of the graphics, that's not how I judge a game. Killzone 2 looks a-f**king-mazing. But it still plays awkwardly, slowly, and generically.

And if I can't disagree with your graphics claims, you can't disagree with how awkward Killzone 2 is... you just can't... </sarcasm>

I bet it will launch at the same time... and somehow it will be Microsoft's fault for misleading us into thinking it was exclusive.

It's funny how quickly people forget that Halo 3 did this.. and did it very well.

I'm not saying Killzone 2 "stole" anything from any other game, let alone Halo 3, but you better recognize where the influence came from.

Would KZ2 have a video replay feature if Halo 3 didn't? It would be unlikely...

You're in denial. Sony loses tons of money on their hardware and is in last place. That's what we call in need of saving.

Nick, it's not so much that it is or isn't hating on a console... it's that it's shilling for the company with such blind abandon, it might as well come from Kaz's mouth.

And yes, I'm starting to believe that PS3 is going to have a long life, but it still has a long way to come.

And I suppose most people aren't smart enough to figure out that $59 + $20 + ($1.50 x 4) does not = $59.

Please, give humanity a little more credit.

Obviously, you have an ax to grind with Microsoft. Companies have been releasing "expansions" as far back as I care to remember, but because they are downloadable shouldn't change the fact that it's the same thing.

I loved the HW demo, but, just like Killzone 2 reviews, they have their right to say whatever they want. It's a free press.

But the attitude that RTS can't work on a console no matter what is awfully short sighted. HW does work on a console despite the conventional wisdom against it.

No no no, it can't, or the Cell might be exposed as a sham.

Bullsh*t. Anyone who believes Blu-ray is necessary is WAY off the mark. Most high fidelity rendering techniques today are accomplished not with huge textures, but with procedural mapping. Those algorithms take a minuscule fraction of the size of the textures, by comparison. But without those mapping techniques, the game would look awful.

No, most of the Blu-ray is filled with so-called "uncompressed" audio... which is technically impossible in digital data where qua...

To me, this is doing for console RTS what Civ Rev did for Civ games. Make it digestible on a console while focusing on fun and deep mechanics.

@titntin:

It might be dumbed down and scripted on the campaign... but the alternate is having a series of bot matches that play no differently than skirmishes. The skirmishes are what I'm really looking forward to. But you seem to get the point that it's plenty fun and it's deep enough to draw in crowds that don't normally...

The ability to select all and shift between the unit classes, the quick shortcuts on the d-pad, and the quick base building structure is what makes this work. They did their research.

If you watch the demo main menu, lots of tips will roll by. Those tips give you an idea just how deep the game really is.

I'm expecting Covenant Campaign DLC and Flood DLC in the future.

Humans, pious nuts, and an all consuming race. Sounds a lot like the factions of Sta...

That's really stretching it. Take those five games and don't get greedy.

It's hard to argue with that list. All around good complements to a new PS3. And hey, they are available NOW for once.

Not really. I'd bet much if not most of the industry relies on consumers making uninformed decisions. I think the triple-A studios would diagree, but I'm talking about the shovelware.

A while back, I proposed a variable, curved star system. You are required to give scores in whole stars, which leaves room for interpretation and personal preference. But if you give it a 5, you are saying there is very little room for discussion and 90% of gamers would agree with it. If you give it a 3, there is a wider gulf for people to disagree up and down, and thereby give you a little more credit for your opinion.

5 stars - top 5%
4 stars - next lower 10%
3 s...

I think GWAVE hears only what he wants to hear. Sony hands are just as dirty as Microsoft's. In fact, I usually see Sony casting the first clod.

And yes, Nintendo seems to be above reproach, but you are naive if you think Microsoft is the only guilty party here.
