That's funny. You really believe this site or that site is biased one way or the other.
I feel like I'm surrounded by cynics rather than skeptics.
"Microsoft just assed themselves out this generation with all these hardware failures. "
Except that they haven't...
Someone needs a reality check.
Way to call bullshit. Let's not indict MS for cheating on the warranty until they ACTUALLY cheat on the warranty. The whole MS=evil angle is well and truly worn out.
If they support E74 the same way they support RRoD, that's fine... they could use an image change. On the positive side, the on screen message DOES give the customer more information to fix the issue.
But if they are swapping E74 with RRoD just to avoid the warranty they committed to, that would be pretty dirty.
Agreed. Once we all admit the game isn't perfect, we can work towards bringing it closer to perfection.
That was slick like a waterslide filled Astroglide.
I tend to agree. It's good, but I lost that compelling feeling way too quickly. It's currently sitting on my pile of shame with all the other games that were good-but-not-that-good.
Sure...digital distribution is a pipe dream. Where did you hear that? I get movies over netflix, my 360, and....shock!.... my PS3.
Except I have never had to wait for a movie to download on the 360 or netflix. PS3 always stops halfway through a 30 minute show cause Sony didn't think to calculate the time a download would finish and start the video accordingly...
Better is such a useless term. Most everyone has already decided what "better" is without any evidence. It's their gut feeling, and that's all it will ever be.
But that gut feeling was informed by what's important to people... and picture quality isn't that important to my gut feeling while price and the ability to lend it to my non-PS3 owning friends is.
I LOVE Halo, but it's a war game. When people talk about "Halo Kart" I can't fathom the thought process that leads them to predict a racing game. It's not f**king Mario and it doesn't need to be.
Now, if you want to talk about racing pinatas...
Me thinks someone is beating a strawman fanboy. KZ2 for what it is... a console exclusive, blockbuster FPS... did well enough by breaking 1 mil in two weeks. And Halo Wars, by virtue of being a Halo game stuck with good RTS controls did well by selling 1 mil in three weeks.
Conclusion: Shut the f**k up. Both games are good. You would expect a popualr FPS to sell better than a popular RTS. That said, they are roughly equal in my mind... and I know that will boil fanboys on b...
Same old fanboy bullshit. The value argument is horribly flawed as I have shown over and over and over again. $200 STILL buys you a logically complete, functional 360, and you are STILL only halfway to owning a PS3.
Click disagree if you think I can play a game on PS3 for less than 360. I dare you to make a fool of yourself.
Respectfully speaking, that's not a "major" upgrade". A major upgrade would be a honeycomb of user generated spaces and games that you could get lost in. That would be something cool.
But a new space and a few items in the store... that's not major.
That's great news if the content is worth consuming. If not, we are just going to see it as more wasted development time that could have been spent on something more innovative. I honestly hope for the former, but I have gotten accustomed to the latter.
Home right now = fail. That's not to say it could do something to get better. I'm not impressed with Home, but I'm NOT going to say I will NEVER be impressed. That would be fanboy talk. Anything in this environment CAN improve. It just depends heavily on the fanboys admitting it's not already perfect and allowing those improvements to take place.
I have high expectations for Xi, whatever it is. So, whatever it is, it will probably be disappointing.
Hence the flaw of viral marketing this vague...
The article suggests again... erroneously... that the PS3 is somehow a "better" value than 360. The public isn't being mislead or just ignorant. The $200 360 plays games, and with the extra memory on-board, it's a more capable system than people want to admit. But it's STILL $200 (or $100 after the alleged price drop) away from owning a PS3. And it's still the cheapest gaming entry point, and that entry point is ALL that matters to cash strapped families.
Now, I WIL...
This is no surprise. But what people don't realize is that, with the right equipment, they can upgrade their own drives to 120 GB without having to give MS any more money.
I won't bash Quantic Dreams for using QTEs. Theirs actually have a sense of motion and consequence to them that's more engaging than other implementations. That is, if Indigo Prophesy is any indication.
But NB, while fun enough, kinda gets on my nerves with QTE that have little in the way of consequences. Just rewind and try again...
People need to open up their minds every once in a while and try to understand why they hate (insert company X here). I honestly don't think people want to because they might find their beliefs are based on a load of bullshit, and they can't handle that.
And consequently, why do they find (insert company Y here) to be above reproach... the holy Pope of gaming, if you will.
