*facepalm*
We aren't rating the stages, or how many screens, or what celebrities they had on stage. We are rating the games and their announcements. You can't say "games trump all, and Sony had the best games". Yes, games trump all, but why do we have to agree with you that Sony has the best games? I couldn't disagree more!
Whoa, Sony didn't have a "bad" outing. I don't want people to get the wrong idea. Sony did a great job, and I'm holding MS and Sony roughly equal coming out of this show.
I really didn't see anything that should push one co. over the other, but the masses have spoken. MS won, even though they only got half a vote from me.
noooo.... they make an eyetoy with 3D infrared scanning that works, no matter how crappy the lighting is.
...you know, just like the NOT-A Eyetoy.
Kinda sucks for them. They prophesied that Sony would own E3. Now, they all seem to be afflicted with a case of the Nostradamus.
No one likes to be called a false prophet... not even SDF members.
Just like Eye of Judgement changed the way we all play, not just high school, card game outcasts?
And why would you bring up eyepet? Do you honestly want to compare eyepet and Natal? Hey, it's your funeral...
Sure... PS3 "has" facebook and twitter if you really want to fiddle with the awkward browser. Which I don't. Now, if Sony commissioned actual applications for these services, you might have something to talk about.
But either way, both consoles would need their respective keyboard addons to be viable on those services.
Ahh... the "Microsoft brain stem leeches" theory.
I don't see why people can't believe Microsoft won E3? I told you all to wait and see instead of throwing down prophetic visions of Sony's pure ownage. And now, the same prophets have to eat crow when the world disagreed with them.
For the record, I hold MS and Sony as equal this year. They both had equal measures of good stuff. But if that's not enough for divisive fanboys, you can rip each other to shr...
Great... more engineering the criteria. If Sony has done nothing but trotted out new features for the console, the Sony faithful would claim "features are the thing".
I would think of Sony and MS as roughly equal. They both beat Nintendo to a bloody pulp, and that's all we gamers should care about right now.
"who gives a flying f**k"
Well, people who tried to use eyetoy in anything other than a perfectly lit soundstage... that's who.
Anyone who claims Natal is nothing more than a copycat eyetoy has no clue what they are talking about. Eyetoy is a USB camera and a microphone... and nothing more. The software analyzes movement on a 2d image sent from the camera and filters out everything else it deems to have not moved. Then, it passes the coordinates of movem...
This is a result of Microsoft being commonly accepted as the winner, regardless of what one person thinks. But what sticks in my craw is that Natal was what brought them this semi-democratic victory...
I, on the other hand (despite being a 360 fan), can accept that Sony put on a great show. I say they were roughly equal... no difference worth picking one over the other. I even think the Sony motion tech might be more viable in actual practice. Natal and Milo is the sort of pi...
@Ghost: You know why they show certain demos behind closed doors? So they don't have to suffer the snarky blogger wannabes writing like their blog is some supermarket tabloid. And yes, that goes for Kotaku as well.
Let's be serious. Microsoft put on a great show. Sony did too, and where it not for the leaks, the shows would have been roughly equal. Both should be proud of their performance.
And we can all agree Nintendo sucks ass.
This is what I like about E3. The big wigs act big on stage, but acknowledge and respect each other on the floor.
The amount of ignorance in this thread is just STAGGERING!
-VGA and component can do this just fine, so HDMI has nothing to do with the discussion.
-1080p has everything to do with processing, and nothing to do with disk size, so Blu-ray has nothing to do with this discussion.
-There is positively no reason a 360 couldn't put out a 1080p native signal.
Now, if we can stop quoting Sony's junk PR word for word, maybe we can consider the CONTEN...
Dude... I love my 360 and I love my Halo. But what could compel you to issue a prophesy like that? That's no better than the Sony fanboys who claim the Playstation is the crown prince of gaming and everyone else should just get out of the way.
Please, enough with the unfounded superlative. It could suck ass for all you know.
Ahem... not exclusive. It's available on PC as well.
Just returning the favor...
I think they are mutants, a result of Shi Gen general, Chernenko's experiments from the first game.
You can compare Crackdown, Infamous, and Prototype, but in the end, they are different open-world games and do things differently.
The best thing they can do is learn a few lessons from each other.
Crackdown was an excellent, if generic, game.
There was no plot to speak of, unless you count the twist ending. There was no character development, unless you count maxing out your agent's powers. The graphics where sub-par, unless you count the comic-inspired art style. But where they skimped in storytelling, they more than made up for in sheer pulse pounding gameplay. And I'm a sucker for a game that makes gameplay that compelling. The feeling of leaping across rooftops an...
@Blaze929:
But that's because he's wearing business attire instead of shorts down to his knees. Natal works if you act white.
(I kid, I kid. I SOOOOO kid.)
