@Slim Daddy:
A "blower" rather than a "fan"? What's the difference?
All-flash drives? At the price they charge for a laptop drive, we would be able to afford it already anyway.
I doubt it would work right, but "cloud" storage could be one approach too.
Faceplates are a nice "wishlist" kind of feature, but I would give them up in a heartbeat for more reliable hardware.
Actually, Pennywise, a slim would indicate MS has confidence they finally solved the hardware issue. They wouldn't make a move like that if they expected to replace what the larger public percieves as a new hardware model. The unwashed masses simply don't follow the Zenons, Falcons, Jaspers, Opuses, and Valhallas like the internet elite do. This would be their chance to rebuild with the average person.
Microsoft might be a huge corporation, but money talks and a lot of money i...
Welcome to Disagree Club. The first rule of Disagree Club is: you do not talk about Disagree Club. The second rule of Disagree Club is: it's your turn to bring doughnuts next week.
Honestly, I'm not surprised. But either way, I'm having a good time will Killzone 2 and I don't need anyone else to validate that for me.
I'm not about to tell you one game is "better" than another since gaming is such a personal experience. Just play what you like and let Huge Corp. sort the numbers out.
Identical. In a double blind test, you would not be able to consistently pick the same console.
How do you know if you are "good" at video games? You enjoy them.
How do you know you suck at video games? You make retarded lists aimed at excluding as many people as possible.
Agreed, great dev. But how do you motivate a studio that's is sick of all things Halo? Do you risk your golden franchise on a studio that might half-ass it unintentionally? And does the studio risk their reputation on a game they have no desire to make?
Go back and read it again. They said they were leaving Halo THREE after ODST. That's more a reference to the lack of DLC after that point.
I'm not sure why people think the next game will be called "Halo 4". It seems like an ignorant and critical comment almost, but I heard people who actually worked on the game refer to it the same way. It still wouldn't make much sense, seeing as how the last story arc was concluded. I don't doubt another game will sprout from the extended ending, but I'm pretty sure it won't be Halo[i+1].
I also think it's cynical to think Microsoft is just going to milk the franchis...
Yikes, if you haven't bought a PSP yet, then you really aren't going to. We are already looking down the FOURTH hardware revision. If you haven't found a reason to get a PSP yet, odds are you will get your PSP Go and ask "Ok, now what?"
There are plenty of great reasons to have a PSP right now, but it's not like we are sitting on something new coming soon. It feels more like a good end-of-life buy right now. The PSP is a good buy NOW, not when the new hardware shows...
It's generally accepted that while new FPS owes old FPS a lot, the newer games improved on so much. No matter how much you love you nostalgia, the newer games are more likely to be better. Do you really want to keep playing on an N64 stick?
I'm also of the opinion console FPS doesn't owe PC FPS a damned thing. The design of a game made for the mouse and a game made for the controller are completely different and warrant study, not just blanket dismissal or acceptance.
Actually, it means Vista will be useless crap sooner rather than later. If Microsoft comes with W7 this quick, that means it will be sooner that they discontinue support for Vista updates and the like.
Screw the discount. Vista users should get the upgrade to Windows 7 as an automatic download, like a system update.
I honestly haven't had issues with vista, other than using a 64 bit operating system. That could go for anyone. But I certainly welcome an OS that's less of a memory hog.
This is great! PS3 fans at each others' throats. It's like a giant gladiatorial arena, and the bullies are forced to fight each other. Except they are juvenile nitwits...
Can't you all just agree that the PS3 has games that we can all find our best in? Why do you have to validate your opinions on someone else? I loved MGS4 and Killzone 2. But I'm not going to spin some c0ck-and-bull theory about how only ADHD-children play twitch FPS or only mature, smoking jacket-wearing a...
Better than Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, and MGS4? I find that unlikely, especially considering those are several different genres. They are, in fact, incomparable.
And why does it always seem I find a crowd of PS3 fanboys around any discussion about the "best". This obsession with the best, even by a minuscule margin, is a hazardous practice for the industry to allow. You had to obsess about the best console. Now, I would hate to see the PS3 world get torn apart f...
I don't think people realize how poorly Goldeneye aged. It was already relatively dated as an engine on relatively weak hardware, and though the modern console FPSs of today owe Goldeneye a lot, to ignore the (paintball) writing on the wall and say it is STILL a great game is to really miss the point. This game would be better on a system that wouldn't just regurgitate the same code. It needs to be on PS3 or 360 (360 of course being the more likely).
It's a deterrent for cheating FOR gamerscore if you are going to lose it all anyway. And the only reason to have tons of GS is to show it off. Now every place you showed off your gamertag will say "CHEATER CHEATER". Sounds pretty effective to me. I honestly haven't seen much cheating on XBL since the 360 came out.
Interesting idea, but do you really think you could understand the extreme width and depth of the LBP system without some guidance? The design of the editor made it a necessity.
