Ahem.... Mr. The_Darkest_Red, here is the plot I remember from playing MGS4.

An armless, legless, former president with similar generic code to Snake and Liquid kept alive and shrink wrapped to a machine... and that genetic code is a backdoor access code to a global control network controlling all the nanomachine soldiers in the world to keep them from sh*tting themselves when they drink the water.

Meanwhile, a "targeted" super virus designed to kill only c...

Here we go with that "best" label again.

Let's go back to middle school where I declared the credits music from Chrono Trigger to be the best piece of music ever. I feel kinda stupid about it now.

The fact is if you sat a non-gamer down in front of MG's plot, they would say things like "Big Boss? Zero? Beauty and the Beast Corps? Who the hell thought those would be good names?" If you want to say something has a good plot, it should be a good p...

Gears plot... sucks. Halo plot... sufficient, but not great.

I maintain a game doesn't need a good plot to succeed as a game. I think people care WAY too much about plot. If some story is the compelling reason you are playing a game, you could very easily be playing a crappy game and not even know it. Or worse... you could be willingly playing a bad game for the plot.

Maybe some people like convoluted stories.

I'm not one of them, but I recognize the right of Konami and Kojima to seek a market of people who will buy any Japanese-written piece of comic book plot garbage.

But there are people who like that stuff and i respect their right to like it. So, a disagree here means you disagree with peoples right to like whatever they like...

I don't think games should make us feel anything plotwise. I'm a stern believer that story detracts from gameplay. I like to get my kicks from games like Shadowrun. Complete crap story... but dramatic mechanics that make me feel dynamic emotions. And the next time I play it, the "plot" of the match will be different, unlike an RPG that will be almost exactly the same.

If you want story from a game, play an RPG. If you want a GOOD story, skip the game entirely and r...

Remake Smash TV. That is all I desire.

In fact, I would buy the rights to STV if they were available and I had a mil.

Jesus f*cking christ, this is a rumor... of a rumor... of a rumor.

As for stereoscopic on PS3, I know it's already out there. It's been demoed over and over... and every self-important journalist acts like they are seeing something new. You STILL need a TV capable of polarizing alternating lines and polarized lenses before it works. It still means you wear dorky glasses to see the effect.

What really needs to stop are the trolls following every rumor around with a...

Not this crap again. The speculation is getting WAY out of hand. The Microsoft execs listening to this have got to be rolling on the floor by now.

Wow. A lot of delusional commentary about how "It's Microsoft, what do you expect."

It's business. You charge the price that gets you the maximum profit. It's what every business does. Sony does it by charging for crap in Home. Nintendo does it by releasing ANOTHER version of the DS.

...because they know it's what people will pay. That's just good business.

And if you, self-righteous consumer, don't want to pay for something... don't. No...

And I suppose people are helpless tubs of lard that can't make a decision to spend or not spend money, and they need some evil corporation to do it for them? Please, give humanity a little credit.

Yeah... don't see how sucker-punching Microsoft figures into this.

@LBSB:

His opinion is 100% valid either way, because I felt the same way as a tester. I remember getting my invite to test Home in the closed beta a few months before they let Qore subscribers in. All I could say after spending an hour in it was "So, what is it they want me to test? There's nothing here, and they aren't paying me enough for me to Test-with-a-capital-T this."

After this much time in development, I couldn't help but be disappointed. I mea...

Improved, it has. Relevant, it still is not, at least in my opinion.

Don't cloud the issue. It either cuts the mustard, or not. It can get ever closer to being something relevant and still not meet the mark.

You don't have to be Catholic to agree with the Pope!

Though, I will admit Home has gotten better... it's still a far cry from anything I would be interested in. I mean, you charge $3 just to put pictures on the wall? What a rip!

...or any more real for that matter. God either is or is not. But face it, we don't KNOW beyond a doubt... and we don't know any more than any other religion that thinks their god(s) exists.

So, I'll let you have your faith as long as you don't try to prove it and still call it faith. Proven faith is not faith. Therefore you can't argue anything except the indisputable fact that you have a belief. That I am willing to believe. But faith? No, not if you feel compelled to ar...

Devout, hardcore, protesting, offended-easily Christians? I could be sold on that stat. I honestly think there are more closet atheists in this country than people think. The only thing keeping them in the closet is their "programming", not any logical deficiency. Eventually, they will figure things out, even if that ends in not confronting religion at all and maintaining the status quo in their lives.

Of course, there are those who respond to crises of faith by sti...

Evidently "deeply involved" is Japanese for "manacled to his desk and his family held hostage".

If Kojima wants to be a Sony fanboy and ignore the 360, let him. There are plenty of developers at Konami who know how MGS works... and if it's supposed to be "different" from other MGS games, maybe he shouldn't be so deeply involved. I mean, he sounds like he's ready to be done with MGS all-together.
