Here is the problem: everyone assumes that the criteria for success is "the most exclusive titles". Who decided that? Microsoft is making a KILLING on the third party. And as a result of having the cheapest, fully functional HD-grade console, Microsoft owns the third party and delivers just enough first party to keep us interested.
Yes, cheapest. I don't care what biased, inflated comparison you have. I can play 99% of the games on the 360 with an Xbox 360 Arcade....
Here is the low down.
PS3 is doing good.
360 is doing better.
Wii is doing the best.
Now, if you can't handle that fact, you are a juvenile little dipsh!t. If you can't be content to simply know that your chosen console is doing some degree of "good", then you have issues.
Can't we just put things in a positive light be be done with it?
I agree he should STFU, but if my experience with Indigo Prophesy is any indication... "gameplay" in the traditional sense takes a bit of a backseat to presentation. Crane's games are a bit like an interactive movie instead of a game. But I don't doubt we will get a great experience anyway.
Killzone 2 maps are not a "microtransation". A MT is like $.50 t-shirts in HOME. This is a transaction.
Air support is once again a waste.
yay.
There are SEVERAL split timelines... and most of them are only one game deep. Only a handful of games can be considered to have a sequel. Ocarina and Majora. LOZ and Adventure. And those two Capcom GB versions are possibly concurrent.
Why does this have to fit? Can't a game just have great gameplay and infinite re-playability? This is the kind of f*ckery that I'm talking about when I say plot diminishes gameplay.
And Zelda is NOT an RPG... It's an adventure ga...
You people suffer from delusions. The PS2 lasting 10 years does NOT guarantee a PS3 that lasts 10 years. What could possibly lead you to that conclusion? Only one thing... loyalty to the brand.
Shmuck indeed. How do you load your console up with 3 year old game installs and say "I can't free any more space.... oh noes"?
Start with the games you aren't playing...
We don't need a "focused narrative". During Infamous, I was hoping to unlock a free form super-hero-y "patrol the city" mode when the game was over... but instead, I get to hunt for blast shards, dead drops and finish wiping the gangs out. Then what?
I stand by my assertions that the less story a game has, the better the gameplay can be.
Ahem...this is about what Crackdown 2 can learn from Infamous... not what Infamous already learned from Crackdown 1.
And it's CRIMINAL to call Crackdown a throwaway game. If you do, it means you never played the game and can't separate Crackdown from your irrational Halo hate.
The fecal matter of a male bovine, says I.
"Better"
Why are we still obsessing over the minor details like this? Is it that important to stick a "Best" label on something?
Oh that's right. You're insecure children... I keep forgetting...
That's funny, because my PS3 is louder than my 360...
I'm a forgiving gamer. I'll let Microsoft replace my 360 as many times as they care to. And the second they stop... they lose me.
But if they screw up on another generation, they will have a hard time getting me back.
Wow... cheapskate.
If they start talking about the story as the most crucial part of the game, you know the game will suck. Games that put too much emphasis on story usually have under-developed gameplay. There are certainly exceptions, but that's the general rule I follow.
"I think Sony is willing to sacrifice a bit of it's market to make money."
But they are losing both right now. If Sony can't drop the manuf. cost and implement a price drop as people are demanding, it's their own damn fault for painting themselves into a corner with such high quality parts. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but PS3 is built and priced like one of Sony's high-end $7,000 HDTVs. It's not meant to make everyone go out and buy one. It's meant to be a &...
There is nothing wrong with the XMB. What needs to happen is Sony needs to make Qore free and integrate it with the XMB the same way Microsoft have the Inside Xbox feature. Then the XMB might feel like it has some new life.
Yeah yeah, we can do math. Ten years is *gasp* $500. That's like a whole PS3!
...but it doesn't change the fact that it's still only $50 a year. If you have trouble coming up with the $50 per year, you fail at life... same way you would fail if you struggle to come up with $500 over ten years.
The argument is total bullshit, and anyone who isn't a dyed in the wool sony fanboy can realize it.
Got a pair. Love em.
I still feel that, for an FPS, whether you fire with the 1 or the 2 buttons/triggers is a matter of preference. I like having triggers, but recently, my fingers seem to be migrating back to the 1 button as a matter of ergonomics.
