Well, that went pretty much as expected. I think it was a really sweet look into the life and dedication of that man. Today wasn't about Nintendo, but a dedication to Miyamoto.
Though it sucks that the stock market game is being played, when so many people wanted new information.
Oh by all means I am for innovation and options. I think that the option that Home is there, and Miis are there, and X-Box Live is there is amazing. I just don't think that they're all that big of a deal, that is all. I guess I was just offering up a different opinion on online gaming than many gamers have, in that I don't see anything useful in it for me, thus such a social networking idea is not appealing to me. It's obviously very appealing to others, and that's great. Just a personal vind...
I can actually imagine Miyamoto being rather miffed at the PS3 Home idea, seeing as how Miyamoto himself stated that Miis, or at least personal avatars for use on a game console and in games theselves, has been a goal for him for a long time.
Personally, I'm happy with the Miis. They do exactly what they're supposed to do. Somehow I don't see the PS3 avatars appearing in games, but then again you never know. I'm glad that Nintendo is sticking with the basic Mii functionality an...
That really depends on your personal definition of "terrible", however. You say bad, I say good. I say awful, you say great. You think there's not many good third party games coming in, and I disagree. At least it keeps the future exciting. :)
There are a few possibilities in which this might be bad for Sony, but I don't see any of them having much of an effect.
One is that PS2 is now competing with PS3. Sony obviously wants to make money however it can, but I'm sure they would rather people buy their brand new system rather than a system that is over half a decade old.
Which segways into the second possible bad effect, in that if 13 million people are willing to purchase old technology, then the thoug...
"For Wii Nintendo is serving up in-development versions of Big Brain Academy, Mario Strikers Charged, Super Paper Mario and Pokémon Battle Revolution. Unfortunately there's a lack of anything Metroid or Mario related."
Now I know that the writer intended that last sentence to mean that there was nothing heard about the new Mario Galaxies game, but it just seemed a bit sloppy to have that in there after mentioning two Mario themed games not five words before.
I don't think it's bias so much as an informed opinion. No other news from the GDC so far has generated as much buzz as PS3 Home and LittleBigPlanet.
Maybe Nintendo has an ace up their sleeve for this con, but I'm guessing not.
Heh, worry not, Deepbrown, had I a PS3 I'd probably be interested in LittleBigPlanet as well. I was just remarking on the absurdity of comments such as "gimmicky" and "kiddy" towards the Wii, when they could be applied to any console with the right fanboy spin. :p
Though I was serious about not being interested about "Home". More power to people that can find a good use out of it, though.
Definately cool stuff ahead for Sony, but they certainly have a lot of ground to pick back up. Unfortunately such things aren't really for me... The "Home" idea, while decidedly cool and interesting, doesn't really sit well with me. I've never really thought of games as a social networking medium - they've always just been a hobby to do when I'm bored with something else. But then again, I may be in the minority, who knows. That, and I'm not too sure about the actual usefulness of y...
Your Troll-Fu is weak, young one. *reports*
First, you neglected to answer my previous question about the so-called stupidity of the Wii success.
Second, I do not think that you are a moron, but I believe you to be a little bit blinded by all of this, perhaps through fanboyism, and you are distorting the facts. The AI and graphics and pure computing power possibilities of the Wii are greater than all of the last gen systems, which, you might recall, managed to pump out some rather beautiful and powerful games. To make su...
Why does the success of the Wii show public stupidity? How is enjoying ANYTHING a sign of public stupidiy? I don't enjoy fishing, but I'm not going to call my fishermen friends stupid for their hobby.
This guy getting so upset over Nintendo doesn't really make much sense. Nintendo is pushing gaming in a different direction than what Sony and Microsoft are doing. It's a seprate direction, but it's still gaming. The end is still the same - provide entertainment for people. Which ...
Huh? I'm afraid I don't understand your reply... That's a lovely Heavenly Sword mini-documentary, but I was just commenting on the scarcity of PS3 commercials using games in their TV advertisements, and instead going for the more abstract, and to some, absurd, "This Is Living" and "Play B3yond" ideas.
Wow, a PS3 commercial with actual game content in it. I didn't think that such rare beasts existed anymore!
Oh well, it was too good to be true. :p
Um, they are releasing an in-store disk copy. I've already got it pre-ordered from EB.

Why people enjoy being imbecilic I'll never know.
Yeah, I had taken that into account, myself. If so, it's a damned believable trick. :p
Why does this warrant a "cool" response, exactly?
I don't doubt that PS Home is going to be fun. Just not my idea of hanging out with friends, I suppose. I already get enough flack for not enjoying online games. But for the vast majority of you guys who like online gaming this is definately good news for you.
