Well, so far, Hell has the best music, the best games, the most fun people, the most FABULOUS people... It's honestly looking bad for the Heaven team, cause they sure as hell are not making it easy to choose them over Eith Eeh Double Hockey Sticks.
Squeenix is drinking the same Kool-Aid Capcom drank when they said they expected Dragon's Dogma to sell 10 million. 10 million is ROCKSTAR-level sales. Games like GTA and Red Dead Redemption.
What amazes me is that Japanese gaming companies are INSANELY optimistic for sales of their games, to the point that they set expectations way too high and consider even a successful game disappointing. For example, Squeenix considered sales of the Tomb Raider reboot disappointing, when it's sold 3.4 million copies, which is a hell of a sales figure. Capcom predicted that Dragon's Dogma was going to sell 10 MILLION! WHAT?! Seriously?? Those are GRAND THEFT AUTO-level sales, how could ...
Wasn't this fuckwad retired?
The sad part is that Microsoft literally doesn't have to lift a finger to allow the indies to self-publish, they just need to establish the policy clearly and allow the indies access to upload. Comparing it to PS4 with Gaikai is ridiculous. Gaikai is a MASSIVE infrastructure and digital rights-intensive endeavor, and I say Sony can take all the time they need to make sure it works as intended when it finally launches. Microsoft's self-publishing policy is all politics, no major change...
"Infamous" share button? I think that's gonna be one of the most exciting features the PS4's gonna have! Let's Plays, game reviews a,d even gameplay itself will definitely reap in the benefits.
@TronEOL Damn right, Dark Cloud 2 is an unsung gem. It's actually amazing how many Level-5 RPGs get overlooked when they're such an excellent game JRPG developer. Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud 2, Jeanne d'Arc, and even Ni No Kuni are amazing games that are massively overlooked.
-Valkyria Chronicles. One of the most heartfelt, beautiful RPGs ever made.
-Rogue Galaxy. SERIOUSLY underrated, with lots of charming characters, a rock-solid real-time battle system, loads of item crafting and secrets to find, Chrono trigger-style combination attacks and awesome voice-acting.
While it's true about Sony's financial troubles, they evened it out a little this last fiscal year, and if they're going to do investments it's definitely going to be in their games division. Acquiring Atlus could also be the shot in the arm the PS Vita needs, since I'd easily see the handheld as a huge focus of development for Atlus under Sony. Just the immense library of games they could port or remake for Vita would guarantee a pretty sizable library in a relatively sho...
There should be a rule here in N4G that any opinion article not have such a misleading title or it gets dumped -_-
As for Nintendo buying Atlus, when has Nintendo EVER bought a studio? Plus, Nintendo is having the hardest time of all the big three right now, they wouldn't attempt such a huge buy when they could be using that money to somehow try to save the Wii-U. Buying a studio in hopes that future software from them saves your console is a stupid move when, by the time...
All I'm gonna say is this:
Double Helix, DO NOT FUCK THIS ONE UP. WE BESEECH YOU.
My top 10, in no particular order:
-Sam & Max Hit the Road(actually, put the Telltale games there too)
-Psychonauts
-Grim Fandango
-Deadpool
-Full Throttle
-Day Of The Tentacle(God, I miss old-school Lucasarts)
-Monkey Island
-Worms
-Borderlands(both)
-Metal Gear Solid 3(when it's funny, it's HILARIOUS)
@brodychet: I wouldn't go so far as to say he's a pedophile, but he DID have sexual intentions towards her. But I wouldn't call it pedophilia, since first of all Ellie's a teenager(that's ephebophilia, and it's nowhere near as bad as straight-on little kids pedophilia) and second the desperation of any female companionship in the apocalypse would make anyone's standards relaxed.
However, the fact remains that David did not see Ellie as anything but...
The Gamecube controller was great... for games specifically designed for it. As a general-purpose controller, it's absolute crap. One of my first questions, when I hold a controller in my hand, is "Can I play Street Fighter with this?" If the answer is no, the controller automatically fails for me, and the Gamecube failed that standard SPECTACULARLY.
I think the best overall is the Dualshock 2. All subsequent(and safely assumed future) Sony controllers will be b...
I completely agree. It was a dam shame what happened to that studio and to that IP.
Rogue Galaxy. Am I the only one that remembers that GEM of a game?
I agree that this has been a spectacular year so far. The Last Of Us, Bioshock Infinite, Metro: Last Light, the remade Tomb Raider, Injustice, Shin Megami Tensei 4, Animal Crossing, Civ 5: Brave New World... and what's yet to come! Dragon's Crown, Saints Row 4, Killzone Mercenary, GTA5, Beyong: Two Souls, Arkham Origins, Tearaway, Watch Dogs, Wasteland 2...
We should count our blessings, my friends.
I'd love to see a post-apocalyptic or cyberpunk sandbox game by Rockstar, though CD Projekt Red already has one of those covered with Cyberpunk 2077, which is my most awaited game in DECADES.
Exactly. Plus, why would Microsoft want to sell the console itself to people who will never buy games for it? Software sales is where the biggest income in gaming comes from, and they would not get a single cent of it from a small business owner.
I don't see why Irrational should "admit defeat" over crafting one of the absolute greatest stories of this console generation. If sales and discussion in forums and TV Tropes are anything to go by, BI was a resounding success. Going back to Rapture in the new DLC I see more as them taking these two settings and more intimately joining them, which is a move that certainly pleases the fan, but it isn't admitting defeat for anything.
