I don't blame High Moon at all, I'm sure the executives were the ones that caused it to be mediocre. After all, High Moon did both transformers: Cybertron games, and both were pretty damn good, the second one being great even.
Yeah, it's not like games have had their MSRP at $59.99 for the last DECADE or anything, there is NO precedent for THAT!
And no shit Nintendo will keep producing the Wii-U. It's their big console, what else would they produce?
I just hope the E design gets reused for a future game. I love the asymmetrical hair and side cap, it gives her a very unique look.
I don't usually let the behind-the-scenes stuff keep me from getting a game, but I'm not in any hurry to buy a game designed by that sexist scumbag Itagaki.
No console release, not even handhelds... sigh...
Like others said, MGS5 is a big omission, but other than that, this is pretty much the most complete list of the Triple A and notable indie games for the year. 2014 will be very, VERY exciting.
HOLY CRAP, I forgot about the new Tex Murphy game!! THE MEMORIES!!! :D
Keep beating that dead horse, Squeenix, it's not like you have other franchises you could be making new games for or anything.
The art on the character's faces reminds me a lot of Valkyria Chronicles. Natalia looks like a rougher Captain Varrott.
And now I'm sad, cause I probably will never see a new Valkyria Chronicles :'(
This looks to be an excellent game, I hope it gets localized. Japanese-style strategy RPGs are a very underrepresented genre here, it'd be cool to see one of the granddaddies of the genre coming Stateside. It also gets me excited for a new Romance Of The Three Kingdoms.
To me, nothing reflects this more than Binary Domain. That game is TOTALLY a spiritual sequel to Snatcher.
That's cause Ryse is a tech demo. It's designed to be more pretty than anything else. It's gameplay certainly doesn't live up to the graphics. Plus, graphics is not the be-all-end-all of system capability. Framerate, draw distance, character rendering, AI algorithms and many other functions of processing power have to be taken into account too. Yes, Ryse is the best-looking exclusive so far, but the multi-platform titles are universally better looking on the PS4 and without ta...
*Mika* OH GOD YES. That character is everything I hate in anime condensed into one. I know that Suda is very much into spoofing an exaggerating tropes from anime and games, it's a huge part of his style and I love it, but my god, that character is beyond painful.
Textures are sharper and more detailed, dynamic lighting is much more lifelike, hair is much more lifelike instead of solid... It looks much better.
And like other people have mentioned in this thread, the biggest improvement it'll have is draw distance and characters on screen. It'll REALLY feel like a battlefield when you can see right across it and look at thousands of people fighting.
You get a bubble for that, friend. That game is massively underappreciated, and that's a shame, cause it's the best damn Terminator game/remake of Snatcher ever made. And the game STARTS being cliched, but then you see how the game starts throwing curves at you storywise. And my god, the boss battles are EPIC.
This will be a sales flop in Japan. Western games hardly sell on console as it is, in PC it's even worse. And Japanese PC gaming is VERY centered on RPGs and visual novels, so the average PC gamer has a rig that's not really powerful enough to handle Titanfall. Some hardcore Japanese gamers might be attracted by the mecha-centered gameplay, but I still see Titanfall being a sales failure.
Ha! Hivemind! I totally agree :)
You might not think one thing has to do with the other, but if FO4 is scheduled for 2015, as much as I LOVE the FO franchise, I might skip over it in favor of Cyberpunk 2077.
The series has been so-so for years, but Dynasty Warriors 8 is genuinely pretty damn good, and the Ambition mode(the non story-dependent open adventuring mode) is DAMN fun. Plus, the PS4 version will have both DW8 and Xtreme Legends in one disc.
A TV Troper said it in the easiest way possible: the DW series is a spiritual successor to games like Double Dragon and Final Fight, old-school brawlers where you kill hordes of identical enemies.
What game is there left to remake? Ys 5 is the only one, and that one's kind of a black sheep that no one really cares about. Ys 4(which is the one Celcetta remade) was one with an awesome story but terrible execution, which Falcom remedied with the remake. If it is a new Ys, it has to be a new game, I think.
I think Japan won out, lol.
Still pathetic that MS players are getting this game now when PS+ subscribers have had it free for, what, over a year already? And they had Borderlands for free at the same time, too. That was an amazing month for PS+ subscribers.
