Kefka's one of my personal favorites because of how intimidating a villain he is. Every other Final Fantasy villain basically has to ride his coattails, cause Kefka, unlike the other villains in the series, WON. Halfway through Final Fantasy 6, Kefka WINS, he destroys the world and takes control exactly as he intended. The heroes are not trying to save the world, they're trying to rebuild after Kefka already turned it into a shithole. And after destroying the world, he basically gets ...
A Polygon review of a PS exclusive that's massively under the average score of pretty much any other site, big surprise there. They should finally just fess up and change the site's name to Microsoft Gamesite(r)(c)(tm).
EXACTLY. Capcom had the budget and the talent to make the game, they just didn't have the respect for that talent or the fans to make it, and Capcom's downright mean-spirited towards Megaman and its fans lately.
Use your Kickstarter money to fund Mighty No. 9 instead. Let every cent invested on that Kickstarter be a slap on Capcom's face.
That's exactly what I mean.
Yeah, "don't know 'em." It's not like the studio is majority owned by Epic Games, who are the creators of on of MS's biggest franchises, or that they created one of the classic shoot-'em-all FPSs with Painkiller. Totally unknown, right guys?
*sigh* Microsoft should just do a boot camp-style workshop in which they educate their executives and try to cure them of that foot-in-mouth disease they've been showing lately. I mean, it's just like...
Thank you, Penello, it's been a few months since I felt so talked-down to. Thanks for reminding me why I'm avoiding MS and their system like dick-hungry badger mutants.
I did not find it bothersome enough in my life to swap discs(or cartridges, for that matter) to ever be willing to expose myself to draconian control measures just for the sake of not getting up from the couch. Pretty much every game coming out now has a digital version anyway, and they've been sel...
I'm getting the game too, of curse. I'm a DIEHARD MGS fan. That's why this bothers me so much, because MGS doesn't NEED to cater to the fans in such a lowbrow way, we ALREADY love the series with all our heart.
Like I said, I like my fanservice when it's appropriate, and sometimes I even indulge in the guilty pleasure oversexualization. I personally liked the female characters in Dragon's Crown for example, but that game is, by its nature, pretty out t...
Bleugh.
First of all, to the comments Kojima made before that he wants to make the character more erotic to raise popularity for cosplay and figures, Metal Gear Solid is one of the most popular gaming franchises on the planet already, you don't need to make it "more erotic" to promote cosplay, it'll happen. Second of all, this is a series about WAR. War does not get fought practically naked and in torn pantyhose. Third, this does nothing but encourage the &q...
The article mentions that both the PS4 and the Wii-U support external drives, while the XBox One won't. To all those XBox fanboys who were talking crap about Sony for not allowing installs on external drives: EAT CROW.
The video of him explaining the project made me crack a smile. I especially loved the part where he was walking down the street and the girl with the poodle walked by. He was dressed blue like Megaman, the girl was blonde and dressed in red like Roll and the poodle was red and pink like Rush, a definite nod to his still-there love for Megaman.
Seriously, Capcom, you guys suck, you messed up letting such a passionate and well-loved creator as Inafune go.
So basically, Sony's giving the players the option for a full install that allows games to be played disc-less instead of the partial install which is standard and people complain that it can't be installed on an external HDD. How else are they going to protect themselves from piracy, dipshits? You'd rather they have the system always on and plagued with DRM?
With how expensive game creation is these days, being able to budget a triple-A game like one of CD Projekt Red's is quite an accomplishment. It means the company is using their resources to their fullest extent and not wasting money on trivial expenditures. I'm betting, for example, that budgeting for marketing isn't as much as for other games, since CD Projekt Red gets a lot of use from social networking and word of mouth, which are more effective for gaming than any other mediu...
So you trust the word of a bunch on MS executives, whose job is to sell you their product, to Mark Cerny, a game creator and designer with 30+ years experience on some of the biggest franchises in gaming and lead architect on the hardware of the PS4. That makes TOTAL sense!!!
I think Microsoft is hanging un to the cloud buzzword for dear life too much to objectively look at what they have, and that might come back to bite them in the ass. While I'm one of the people who think that cloud is one of the technologies that will be massive in the future, I think Mark Cerny's assessment is something that should give MS pause. In their rush tho have the next big thing, MS might be rushing in too quickly into a possible catastrophe. Any new technology will have kin...
This is a huge deal, Microsoft is giving Sony a MASSIVE advantage in the European market by not doing GamesCom. Not only taht, but MS is forgetting that through internet reporting, podcasts and even word of mouth, a gaming convention reaches a big international market, so they're missing out on a lot of publicity for countries other than the EU. And Microsoft NEEDS to sell the XB1 to the European market, since so far the features of the system are very Americocentric, they need to show Eu...
I hate the fact that Squeenix has been basically taking a dump on their western studios in favor of flogging the JRPG dead horse. They actually considered Tomb Raider, a critically and financially succesful game, a failure because it sold "only" 3 million+ copies. And when they reported losses, they cut people from their western studios, the ones actually making their more critically acclaimed games lately. It infuriates me.
I can see that, yes, PC revenue as a whole generates more profit, but that profit is split between so many entities that the individual profit is IMPOSSIBLE to be higher for each company than what they make on console, unless that company has PC gaming as its only revenue(like, surprise surprise, NVidia). As for individual games, the cost-prohibitive and work-intensive nature on the consumer side of PC gaming for optimum performance makes console gaming a very attractive option these days, an...

"PC Revenue More Than PlayStation and Xbox Combined"
Pffft, no.
I'm gonna go with GTA5 on sheer scope and replay value. TLOU is a masterpiece, but you can't get as much gameplay out of it as GTA.
