I for one don't mind 30fps as long as it stays rock-solid constant and has a high resolution. In fact (and people form TOO MUCH of a huge stink on this opinion) 30fps is more cinema-looking and works better for certain games. But seriously, the human eye can EASILY tell between 30 and 60fps. 60 and 120 is more of a test, because I've seen games at 120fps and honestly can't tell the difference between that and 60, but if you can't tell 30 and 60, you must have some kind of eye ...

Okay, so they screw up RE6 into an unplayable generic mess after they made the series' creator leave, kick DR's director out of the company in the most soul-destroying way possible, have to outsource DMC because IT'S director quit too, and claim that USF4 cannot be released next-gen because of lack of resources, and yet after all this they say these franchises are KEY to Capcom's success?

That is some MIGHTY Kool-Aid, I tell you what.

Bigger install base = more games and XBL subscriptions sold.

Simple math.

Yeah, entertainment will play a big role... for MICROSOFT, since they'll have to cater to more audiences to be able to sell their console. Microsoft wants the casuals, which is why they are focusing so much on entertainment and trying to shove Kinect down people's throats. Meanwhile, Sony just sticks to the tried-and-true formula of not talking down to its audience and focusing on delivering a good GAMING product. So far, it's working spectacularly. You never see people saying tha...

Very well-said. Sony right now is in the process of trimming the fat and getting out of divisions that have hurt their bottom-line, and the PS is NOT one of them. If anything, Sony is more synonymous with the Playstation brand than with any other product in their lineup, and the PS brand also allows them to make profitable deals with many more companies than any other. Sony's restructuring will give fruit in the long run, and the PS is the product that will most benefit from it.

Disagree. Price point is a big factor, but there's a lot of things going with the PS4 that make it more succesful and attractive than the XB1, including:

-Hardware reliability. Sony has a proven track record of making consoles with a low failure rate. The 360 was a disaster reliability-wise, and there's already been reports of a significant number of XB1s failing. Too many people got burned last gen.

-Varied software. Sony has ALWAYS had more variety ...

@ScareFactor

The total opposite: the PS brand is Sony's most powerful and recognizable right now. Sony would rather close other divisions and focus on the PS brand than sell it off. That'd be like having a horse carriage with four horses you can't maintain and you selling off your healthiest, hardest working horse to compensate, it's patently stupid.

MS, on the other hand, has for years operated without depending on the XBox brand, and it is s...

Microsoft has financial stability, yes, but NOT because of the XBox division. If Microsoft does restructuring, the XBox brand is actually one of the divisions most likely to be closed up or sold to another company. Sony may not be doing that well financially, but because the Playstation brand is so strong, we'd actually see the opposite of MS, Sony closing redundant and underperforming division and focusing more on the PS brand.

So the fact that MS is doing well financial...

While I'm not a COD fan at all, I'll still defend COD: Modern Warfare 1. That game had an engaging campaign story, awesome set pieces and is still the benchmark for the series' multiplayer. The franchise went downhill in a hurry after MW1, but it's still an excellent game.

I'm not a COD fan. Far from it, I think the franchise is responsible for the dumbing down of the average videogame fan. But Kevin Spacey being in the game, the new future setting and gameplay elements, and the fact that a new team composed of veterans of an awesome franchise like Dead Space is making it instead of Treyarch or Infinity Ward yet again... well, I'm cautiously optimistic, which is giving this a LOT of credit in my case.

The problem is that, right now, Activision pretty much has a stranglehold on the rights, and they're content to just make mediocre cash-grabs with the properties. Disney needs to get them back and hire good contractor developers or make their own development teams that can make them.

Spamming the attack button will only get you killed. This game has a rock-paper-scissors system of elemental affinities in weapons, and not taking advantage of it means bosses will wreck you HARD. Not only that, missions have objectives and branching paths, and those can get pretty damn tough. Plus, any difficulty higher than Normal gets pretty hairy quickly.

And just spamming the attack button means you'll only use one boring combo instead of the many different combinati...

I agree. Dynasty Warriors 8 is one of the best of the franchise, and the Complete Edition on PS4 has such a ridiculous amount of content for its price that, if you don't have it already on PS3, it's a no-brainer.

I think it's real, and to all those who are protesting this being PS4-exclusive, need I remind you that the original Demon's Souls was a From/SCE cooperation. If Sony is working with them and putting up the money, then so be it. I bet many of the same people calling BS on this being PS4-exclusive are perfectly fine with Titanfall being XB1-exclusive. I don't see why Microsoft can play that game and Sony can't.

Plus, this is a Hidetaka Yamazaki game, it'll ...

My prediction: this game will outsell and have better multiplayer than Titanfall within the first week. It already showed mechs in the trailer, which if it's a feature in multiplayer will attract people like crazy, and the game is done by the guys who made the Dead Space games, so it has a quality team behind it who don't have the baggage that Treyarch and Infinity Ward do. And with an actor like Kevin Spacey in it, I'm expecting them to go actually make a very interesting campaig...

Um, it's irony. He's a private military contractor who's making money out of misery justifying it as bringing civilization. It's obvious Spacey's the bad guy.

And I'm the ABSOLUTE FIRST person to talk shit about COD, and I'll be the first to admit that this looks awesome, first time the series has genuinely interested me sin MW1. The future setting and ridiculous sci-fi military technology genuinely pumped me up. Hell, I saw mech suits in the game,...
