It's like if Rob Liefeld directed a videogame.
"As for voice controls. That's all done on the OS side and could be done with any cheap mic. There is no need for a device like Kinect to use voice control."
EXACTLY. Hell, the PS4's already doing it, you can use voice command on it with the cheapie earpiece it comes bundled with or the PS Gold headset(which is DAMN nice, BTW).
And the better games comment is both subjective and short-sighted, cause few exclusives are actually good so far an...
Kinect could be the second coming of Tech-Christ, and if it doesn't have games(which it doesn't), it won't sell. Anticipation will only sell so many systems or peripherals before players get tired and demand that games be delivered.
People may try to defend Kinect by stating that Sony's camera is selling well even though it hasn't been bundled with the system and that the hate on Kinect is fanboy rage, but there's a simple reason for the PS camera'...
By releasing the Kinect-less XB1, it makes MS look bad for backtracking on the indispensability of Kinect to the XB1, it basically kills Kinect's momentum so that it is now dead in the water, and it makes Microsoft look weak and desperate by buckling to keep up with the PS4. If the lack of Kinect really does free up system resources and makes the XB1 run games better, it's even more damning, since it means MS lied about the system's capabilities and were forcing a peripheral on ga...
Exactly, it's as "essential" to the console as the always-online 24 hour check and DRM-forced-install were: just attempts by Microsoft to stuff a product we didn't want or need down our throat.
Don't get me wrong, Phil Spencer is making the right decisions to get Microsoft back in gamers' good side, but the amount of damage already done is SEVERE. He's not so much expected to be a problem fixer as he is to be a miracle worker.

"What if SONY announces PS4 price-cut? That would be madness"
Don't be surprised if, around November/Black Friday, Sony announces a $50 price drop or keeping it the same price while bundling a free 1-year subscription to PS+. Microsoft would NOT be able to compete with that, since two price drops in one year is something that would make their investors fume, and they're already gonna lose LOADS of money from the unsold unbundled ...
First of all, no, Sony's not going bankrupt. It has enough assets to run comfortably for years.
Second, bankruptcy doesn't mean a company goes under. Bankruptcy is a legal state of protection that lightens a company's economic load, allowing it to focus on restructuring and operations. Marvel Comics was bankrupt in the early 2000s, and is now an entertainment juggernaut. Sony could easily do the same if it came to that.
Third, Sony got rid of the ...
@ScareFactor Sony may be "losing" money, but they have enough assets to operate for YEARS at loss. Just like Nintendo, and you don't see anyone telling Nintendo they should shut down. They can more than survive, and they'll start trimming a lot of the fat and focusing more on the Playstation brand than any other product in the company.
And why would Sony sell their one brand that is consistently making them money and winning them both critical and consumer a...
The problem is that, at least in the beginning, Kinect was an impressive piece of hardware, but it eventually devolved into a casual gaming device. And casual gamers are not willing to pay for the more expensive bundle of a system. There's basically no incentive to integrate Kinect functionality into any hardcore game, and casual gaming has massively scaled back this new gen, since the Wii is history and the new systems are too cost-prohibitive(not to mention how cellphones and tablets no...
Even with price being equal, PS4 has a MUCH more attractive upcoming exclusives library, more horsepower and PS+ is a MUCH better value than XBL. And Microsoft buckled first, which means they're lagging in sales, dropping Kinect and the price drop is desperation. If Sony announces a price drop before the end of the year, Microsoft is WELL AND TRULY SCREWED. Don't be surprised if Sony does a Black Friday $50 price drop or a bundle with a free one-year subscription to PS+.
I was gonna comment that this was a naive statement by Iwata, but I have to be honest with myself: I would buy a Wii-U in a heartbeat if Metroid came out. If it were Metroid PRIME, I'd spontaneously travel back in time and buy it launch day.
My list is Sony-owned or Sony-exclusive franchises:

All hands on deck, brace for the shitstorm!
Yes, this will improve sales of the XB1, but unless they equal or go lower than the PS4, it is NOT gonna outsell it by any stretch of the imagination, and not even then. Sony's developed a lot of good faith by just being straight-up with players and not pulling fast ones on them, and all this backtracking by MS just makes them look weak and desparate. Plus, there'll be a LOT of fanboy rage from the people who already had to ...
Symphony Of The Night 2 for 3DS?? Oh, I KNOW this is bullshit. Konami won't go back to the classic Castlevania timeline after releasing the Lord of Shadows games, and making SOTN2 without IGA would score them MASS RAGE from the fandom.
That supposed release alone casts doubt on everything else on the list.
Edit: And a Xenogears sequel for Wii-U?! HAHAHAHAHAHA!! XD
HAHA, ROCKY ROOOOAD!!
Sorry to break it to EA, but if they declare war on Gamestop, THEY WILL LOSE. Not only will they lose sales from people who don't like all-digital, but Gamestop is also fully entitled to not support any of their products if they do. Plus, the moment EA announces going full digital, I see Activision and otber companies stating they will fully support non-digital customers and earning a lot of good will from plqyers while leaving EA with egg on their face.
PERFECT benchmark. Hell, you don't even need to jump between systems: on PS2, MGS2 is 60fps while MGS3 is 30fps, you can easily tell the difference there.
@Candy_mafia
You hit it right on the head with some genres being better at higher fps than others. You specifically mentioned fighting games, and that to me is the absolute. Any fighting game that runs at less than 60fps is gonna be a mess because of how much that genre depends on timing.
@Naga: I think 60fps is a reasonable number, cause my bro was playing Metro on his beast machine at 120fps and I honestly could not tell the difference between that and 60fps. And honestly, if you can't tell that difference, it's a good idea to cap it at 60 for better performance, since it doesn't really make a difference.
Then again, I do have a theory that 120fps is a better framerate for VR systems like Rift or Morpheus, since it probably helps with immersion o...
Reeeeally now? Gamers set back gaming a generation? From where I'm standing, all I see is gamers took a stand and did not put up with abuse from a company that has all the greedy subtlety of a robber baron. And I dunno, but Sony's supporting the indies, developing a VR headset, a streaming service for their classic games, took a risk in redesigning their classic controller, turned Twitch streaming into a phenomenon, turned PS Plus into the premiere console online gaming service... The...
