Nintendo: Sub-par hardware and possibly limited freedom of content.
Microsoft: Draconian exclusivity agreements.
Sony: Best console hardware currently available, long history of partnership with Kojima, allows Kojima to freely make games for PC.

Obvious choice is obvious.

I don't consider a failed experiment to be "peaking". Bethesda decided to try out new things with Fallout 4 and the result wasn't as successful as they expected, it happens. Yes, they simplified character leveling by eliminating skills and making it more perk-based, which is a bummer when compared to previous games. But combat is the best it's ever been in the series, with both non-VATS combat and 3rd-person combat now not only being viable, but very fun. And the weapon ...

So this guy's blaming RARE for Kinect failing?? How about blaming Microsoft for Rare failing instead, considering they took a powerful studio with dozens of award winning games to their name and turned them into a parody of their former selves?

Kinect failed cause controller-less/motion-control led gaming was a fad that only Nintendo was able to capitalize on. Hololens I think will do better, precisely because of not being gaming-exclusive, but I don't see it being as...

The fact that he's contractually obligated to not speak about the split speaks by itself. Kojima doesn't need to say a single word to prove what a disgraceful bunch of $#!+heels Konami is. And Konami will get their comeuppance when the next Metal Gear Solid game, the one without Kojima at the helm, tanks like an Abrams.

@Bloop Then I'll climb into my TARDIS with my two personal clones of Haley Atwell and fly away into Valhalla to drink, eat and screw for all eternity. They're just as likely to happen.

My fanboy radar is off the scale!

Seriously, what a fanboyish, clickbait crap of an article. The author complains of Kojima's exclusivity to Sony when KOJIMA IS NOT EXCLUSIVE TO SONY. The first game his team will make is exclusive, that's it, and it's obvious that it's because Sony put money down to establish the new studio. Making future games for all consoles is not off the table. And Kojima NEEDS to associate with Sony as a starting point. Microsoft would d...

What I like is that, yes, the new studio's first game will be a PS4 exclusive, but it's still an independent studio, so Konima still has freedom to make games for other consoles. Kojima probably got funding from Sony in exchange for exclusivity or timed exclusivity on a number of games. It makes sense that the first game is on PS4, since historically Kojima's games have been associated with the PlayStation brand, but owners of other consoles won't be left in the cold. It might...

I'm betting Kojima and his team have had ideas for years that they've wanted to turn into games but haven't been able to because of Konami shooting them down. Their first game will probably take less time than one might expect just because the creative and brainstorming phase was already done years ago and they just have to focus on putting the game together.

Sony is Kojima's best choice just because becoming a Microsoft exclusive would alienate the Japanese fans, since the XB1 doesn't sell well over there, and the Wii-U is selling poorly in the States. Sony covers both sides of the Pacific nicely for everyone. However, if he can go 3rd party and develop for everyone, he should go for it.

This is wonderful news, I want to see what Kojima is capable of now with full freedom to create new and exciting IPs without Konami brea...

Amazing bundle. Just with Garou: Mark of The Wolves, KOF Ultimate '98, KOF Unlimited 2002, Samurai Shodown 5 Special, Sengoku 3, the Metal Slug games and the Shock Troopers games the bundle is worth it's price four times over.

At this point, I won't believe Half-Life 3 is coming out until I've BEATEN the damn game. I could be playing it and halfway through think "Wait, maybe Valve's playing me", and suddenly I walk into a room in the game with a letter saying "Thanks for beta-testing Super Source Engine! Hope you enjoyed this technical demo!"

I won't buy it just because it's an Itagaki game. I hate that creep.

Edit: So the story of the game is that there's a major international incident and an elite soldier is forced to kill the members of his former outfit? Where have I heard this before?

*sigh* Itagaki, the only thing you sold me is a need to play Metal Gear Solid 1 again.

I know, dude, I'm friggin' hyped! I've always been a Donnie Yen fan. You see Jackie Chan films to see fast action comedy and Jet Li films to see beautiful martial arts and wirework, but Donnie Yen films you see to see people beat the ever loving shiznit out of each other. They're always choreographed and filmed in such a way that the fights just look dirtier and much more brutal than any other actor's. You watch Sha Po Lang or Flashpoint and you cringe throughout the whole...

He looks to fight Wushu/Wing Chun, with lots of poking kicks and sweeping motions, and his design with the gaunt face and shades looks awesome. He looks like a 1920s Chinese gangster from a Donnie Yen movie.

What an asinine comment. By all impressions, Konami execs had been meddling in MGS5's development since day 1, not allowing Kojima full reign of how the game was developed. I'm convinced the game we got was not the game Kojima wanted to make, and it's still a great game. Not to mention that he and his team also spent a lot of the development effort on creating the Fox Engine, which is an amazing achievement in how awesome it runs while being very resource-light. And everyone who&#...

Good friggin' luck, Konami. Kojima has been Konami's biggest name for four console generations, and he's up there with people like Miyamoto in terms of name recognition. The only thing Konami is accomplishing is proving just how big of assholes they are and making Kojima that much more appealing for other companies to scoop up once he's finally a free agent. They couldn't erase Akira Yamaoka or Iga, they sure as hell won't erase Kojima no matter how hard they try.
