So Nintendo is giving Sony and Microsoft crap for showcasing games that won't come out in the near future. Considering one of the biggest rumors is that, if it even gets made, the next true Metroid game won't come out until the next GENERATION of consoles, Nintendo should kindly STFU.
And Sony and Microsoft don't need to showcase soon-to-be-released games cause they already showcased them one or two E3s ago, and they have a dynamite holiday season coming up with b...
Talk about clickbait. If there's any sort of general concensus on the last E3, it's that Bethesda rocked, this guy is obviously going against the grain to get page hits.
I don't see Bethesda's conference being done every year, since Bethesda is a company with a small games output, but make it a bi-annual thing and it'll be more than welcome. Two years should be enough time for there to be news of the next Elder Scrolls game, or even a new Obsidian Fallout ...
Hammerfell was the main setting for Daggerfall, so I'm doubting that will be it. Then again, all the games until Oblivion happened during Uriel Septim's lifetime, culminating with his death in Oblivion. Maybe now it could be revisited. Though I'm partial to High Rock, the Breton homeland. It borders with the Alik'r Desert, so there would still be a significant Redguard presence, it is one of the more geographically diverse regions in Tamriel and it's where Orsinium, the Or...
Though the next game will obviously not be Skyrim 2, since Bethesda doesn't do repeats on regions of Tamriel, I'm thinking it might be a region that had a role in Skyrim's story, so we might see a place like High Rock (where the Bretons who form the Forsworn are descended from, and where Orsinium, the Orc capital, is) or the Summerset Isles (where the Altmer, and thus the Thalmor, come from).
The thing is that Nintendo are just not supporting their own console either. Microsoft and especially Sony's biggest strength is a powerful library of first- and second-party games that push the systems and make people notice. Third-party developers will keep an eye on what the console developers are doing, and commit to making games for the consoles if they see good support for them from their parent companies. Nintendo's support for the Wii-U is pitiful compared to MS's support ...
Edit: I meant that the Wii-U is inferior hardware-wise to the PS4 and XB1. But then again, even with superior hardware, Wii-U still falls short of those because of their MASSIVELY better game libraries. Hell, with PS Plus and Games For Gold, buying a PS3 or XB360 is a WAY better value for the money than a Wii-U could ever be.
The main problem Nintendo's had from the Gamecube days forward is that their hardcore consoles are coming out in the middle of a console generation when there's already two established competitors already holding a sizable chunk of the market, and that their consoles have had self-imposed limitations that severely hinder them.
The Gamecube was a failure when compared to the PS2 and XBox because, even though it had the superior hardware compared to the other two, it ha...
Yes, Reggie, the way to make the game sell is to announce a delay and NOT counteract the bad news of the delay by showing footage of the game to maintain enthusiasm and anticipation for it high. That makes PERFECT sense!
Seriously, what the f*ck were they thinking? Historically, players have been willing to put up with a delay on a game if the developer shows videos and progress on the project. If they had said "We had to delay the game, but here's some footage of it...
No F-Zero. No REAL Metroid. No REAL Zelda. Star Fox with no multiplayer.
Nintendo, I am disappoint.
Yu Sukuki definitely ranks up there with Miyamoto. The man is an innovator, and all his games have a vibe of being very professionally and meticulously made. They feel done by a veteran, which they are. The fact Sega keeps favoring making f*cking Sonic games over all the excellent franchises Suzuki has made is madness.
The PC Master Race had a SH*T show yesterday, just so you know. That PC games showcase was weak as a noodle hammer.
I friggin' called it. The moment I saw the Kickstarter and the relatively low funding goal (2 million for a game of Shenmue's scale?), I knew that it was the same situation as Bloodstained: the Kickstarter was a way to gain extra funds and gauge interest in the project for major funding. Sony giving the game time in their conference to make it known and garner support was a great move. It produces good faith in Sony for helping Yu Suzuki out, and it makes people sit up and notice thei...
People forget what happened with Bloodstained: the game was gonna receive funding from third parties if it met the Kickstarter goal as proof of a safe investment. I wouldn't be surprised that Sony has a similar agreement with Yu Suzuki. And from the looks of it, this Kickstarter is destined to beat Bloodstained as the most funded game on Kickstarter ever.
Goddamn, it's such a great time to be a gamer.
@TWB: No gameplay of Mirror's Edge, no ANYTHING of Mass Effect(just a still picture), obviously mocked-up gameplay for everything else. The presenters were soulless, spewing buzzwords like crazy and painting like features stuff that is absolutely livid. They actually announced TRAINING in Madden as a feature! TRAINING! As in, a glorified tutorial/mini-game! It was seriously absolute crap, EA lost this E3 badly. Microsoft and Ubisuft were better, and Bethesda is currently the big winner. W...
You didn't. I was on the YouTube stream, so I didn't miss anything, but my buds on the Twitch stream had trouble too.
You didn't miss much, though, that's the weakest conference EA's ever done. It was snore-inducing. After the Bethesda conference last night, this is ridiculously underwhelming.
That conference was WEAK. Mock-up trailers like crazy, faux excitement over crap games, no gameplay footage of Mass Effect or Mirror's Edge... Bleagh. The Bethesda conference last night DESTROYS it.
So Kojima's next game is a K8nect game?
A man after my own heart *fistbump*
You know what old franchise I wish came back? Jet Moto. With online mechanics and modern game physics, a new Jet Moto would be amazing.
From what's been seen so far, it's confirmed that there will be Pawns in the game, so I think it might be more of a Dark Souls kind of thing in that you can solo it or use pawns, but you can also summon other players. If that's the case, this would be AWESOME. Also, the multiplayer can also make many character classes much more useful, since many classes in the original had sklills that would have been much more useful in multiplayer. If you tell me with a straight face that you p...
Hahaha no.
