Pachter doesn't know s#!+, cause historically, gaming is the one entertainment industry that creates interest in all those new technologies. CD-ROM, DVD, Blu-Ray and HD displays were all niche technology until gaming got its hold on them and led to them becoming standard. The same thing will happen to 4K: as soon as games become more common in 4K, you'll start to see the TV sets and monitors syart shooting down in price to meet the demand.

I'm actually impressed by the concept (and I sighed in relief when I saw the pro controller, lol), but I'm not committed to buy unless I see that teeny tiny magical word: METROID.

-Kick their upper management the fuck out and get new, younger, more progressive management.
-Bring back classic franchises and have the original creators work on them as independent contractors (Kojima to MGS, IGA to Castlevania, Yamaoka to Silent Hill, etc.).
-Release good Hudson franchise games (Adventure Island, Bomberman, Tengai Makyou, Bloody Roar).
-Issue public apologies to the fans and creators they offended.
-Keep their pachinko and gaming propert...

Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclessia deserve to be on that list before the Wii game. The Wii game is just a short, budget-priced diversion. If you wanted to include a game like that, Castlevania Chronicles is a better choice, IMHO.

Also, as always, I get saddened to see no love for Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness. Those two games are VASTLY underappreciated.

I won't have the slightest bit of interest on the NX until Nintendo says the magic word: METROID.

I'm willing to cut Hello Games a lot of slack, considering they had a flood that DESTROYED THE GAME AND THEY HAD TO REBUILD IT FROM SCRATCH. I'm betting this patch will add a lot of the promised features and that they will continue to update the game until it meets expectations. I don't consider it malicious on their part m for the game to be missing features so much as they released the game early because of fan expectation and they wanted a little less pressure on their shoulder...

Well, at least incidence of STDs and unwanted pregnancies will go down...

Edit: And let's be honest, when people talk about cultures with great and frequent sex, the UK never comes up in conversation. If you told me Sweden, the Caribbean or the former Soviet states, then I wouldn't believe you.

Yakuza 5 and Rebel Galaxy are disappointing?!

Okay, these people seriously need to die in a grease fire.

Hey, sadiki, I was stationed over at the MFO base in Sharm el-Sheikh. In my experience, Egyptians are loveable, hard-working people who make everyone feel like family. You guys treated me with nothing but love and respect while I was there, I was sad to come back home. I wish you the best :)

This is just about the stupidest thing I've ever read. The terrorists will most likely be identified as members of IS, on account of Turkey's fighting with their forces in Syria. If something identifies IS, it's their complete rejection of Western culture and ideals. In other words, I seriously doubt any IS terrorist is playin MW2 right now, or they'd get beheaded.

This is art imitating life, pure and simple. Terrorism inspired the scenarios in COD, not the ...

From what they've shown, they're not only going back to its survival horror roots (with emphasis on horror), but they're also filling the void of atmospheric horror left by Konami shitting the bed and cancelling Silent Hills. I'd say that's pretty far from Resident Evil being "dead", if anything it's gone full circle and this appears to be the direction to reinvigorate the series.

My opinions:
-Deep Down is worrying, because from what's been shown, already a lot of resources had been used in the game, and it looked promising. I think Capcom might have discarded it in favor of focusing on Dragon's Dogma Online, which still baffles me for not being released in the States.
-I think Battlecry will still come out, but it's probably getting retooled. Bethesda probably doesn't want it to compete with their own Quake Champions, and right now n...

Well, to be fair, the game so far looked pretty generic, while Sony had much more unique games on showcase. There are so. many. zombie. games, too. I'm hoping that for PSX the game has more content that helps it stand out.

Microsoft's conference was pretty good, especially since they're expanding the XBox brand to include PC gaming. I'd much rather buy a gaming PC to play their games than buy a second console (since a PC is, well, a PC, it's as much a tool as a gaming device). But let's he honest here. In terms of pure gameplay footage and number of games including exclusives, Sony blew every other conference so far out of the water, it's not even close. All the other conferences had exe...

@Kosm I actually think a 2018 release date is feasible. Kojima now has the backing of a company that actually respects his vision and is giving him and his team the support, tools and resources to make the game. The Phantom Pain took so long to come out in part because of constant meddling by Konami and in another part because it was a multiplatform game. With freedom to work, a clear vision and only one platform to work with, I'm betting he can hit a mid-late 2018 release date easy.

I'm a self-proclaimed Sony fanboy, and I thought Microsoft's conference was actually pretty darn good. They showed some great-looking games, and the fact that most of them are crossbuy/crossplay is exciting. It means I'm not left out of playing their games, since I can play them on my PC. It was about time that Microsoft took advantage of having the premier home computing game platform, it expands their gaming portfolio considerably.
