That price would be fair depending on the specs and features. It's certainly more reasonable than the PS3's $700 tag.

I'm still praying that this release means that DDO or DD2 are coming and they're preparing us for it.

From what sources are saying, the PS5 wouldn't be that big a jump hardwarewise from the PS4, and there wouldn't be the huge architecture difference that there was between the PS4 and PS3, so the PS5 backward comp with the PS4 should be a piece of cake. More software-based than anything.

"The labyrinthine level design is also a plus."

On point. It's like Yathzee said on his Zero Punctuation review of the first Dark Souls, "That's Symphony Of The Night thinking!" The Souls games ALWAYS give you the chance to go somewhere else in the game for a while if an area is particularly too hard for you at any given moment.

Ugh, Battletoads. Talk about stupid hard for stupid hard's sake. That game doesn't have a difficulty curve nor even a difficulty spike, it has a difficulty LAUNCH. You hit the Turbo Tunnel and the game stops being fun and becomes sadistic and unfair. To this day, anyone who claims to me that they've beat Battletoads I instantly call BS on it, and if they HAVE beat it I then declare that they had no life growing up. That game is the pinnacle of BAD videogame difficulty, IMHO.l: a g...

The reason why the Souls series' difficulty works so well is that they're games that you get from them as much as you put into them. If you try to breeze through the game, it will fudge you sideways, but if you're willing to tackle it with patience, persistent and the occasional jolly cooperation, it's very much achievable. It's not a game for complacent players.

That being said, it's absolutely true that comparing difficult games to the Souls series...

100% in agreement. The idea of Spidey as a veteran hero training the next generation is fantastic evolution of his character. Plus, Miles Morales, hell yes.

What everyone forgets among all this kerfuffle is that Microsoft is a utility software company. Sony is a GAMING company. The PlayStation brand is Sony's biggest and most profitable, and they prioritize it over every other product their company makes. XBox is a small division within Microsoft that they can (and HAVE TRIED TO) close without making any significant impact to Microsoft as a whole. OF COURSE Sony is gonna be aggressive in securing exclusives,

Why not? From what we've seen with Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves, that's already their MO.

"Lionhead"

Oh, trust me, 343 is WAY more talented than Lionhead. You know, the studio that has literally done NOTHING but Fable for the last decade and make each iteration worse than the last one? 343 at least can make Halo decent.

What the hell else have they got?

@EatCrow This is a point that everyone should take notice of, IT'S INSOMNIAC. We're talking about a studio that has a hell of a proven record handling a hot franchise. Personally, I consider Insomniac, Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch as Sony's Big Three of 1st/2nd party games.

@Swiftfox: This was obviously a setpiece part of the game, which was shown to us because it revealed two of the villains and showcased the game's stealth, combat and swinging mechanics wrapped in one neat bow. The main game will be more open and varied.

I didn't see anyone complaining of stuff like this with the Arkham games. Those have scripted events amidst open-world gameplay too, and I heard no-one complain.

@Dark_Knightmare2 Right on the money, bro. Many people (admittedly myself included) were underwhelmed by Sony's conference this year when compared to previous years, but there is such a huge volume of amazing exclusives coming out currently that looking to the future releases is not uncalled for. And honestly, many of those are 1st quarter 2018, which is CLOSE. I mean, hell, we're already halfway through 2017. I dunno about you guys, but this year has breezed by for me, especially sin...

I'm a self-proclaimed Sony fan, and yes, Sony had a solid conference. But no, they did not win this year. The amount of new game announcements was slim to none and they still didn't give us any killer apps for VR. Yes, the extra footage of Days Gone, God Of War and especially Spider-Man was great, but we already knew those were coming. My theory is that they might be saving the big guns for PSX.

But even though if they didn't have the best conference of this E3,...

Sony: Far off exclusives.
Microsoft: No exclusives and multiplatform games coming to PS4 anyway.

Sony is still winning. And many of those games are coming out 1st quarter 2018. That is NOT far off, considering we're already halfway through 2017.

On point. Even if it's a substantial upgrade, the fact remains that the Scorpio is still a current-gen system whose predecessor is still being sold and can still play all the games available for the more powerful system. Upscaling the games is literally the only major feature it offers over the previous iteration, and I don't think that alone merits almost double the price, especially with how few games take advantage of the feature currently. And without a big exclusives library, and...

You know, I consider myself a Sony fanboy, but I'll still defend the XB1X on this one. Without running games available for both systems to compare, this is only an estimate written on paper, not set in stone.

Anyone with working brain cells knows that you can build a PC with similar system specs, but the XB1X is a dedicated gaming machine, which doesn't need to juggle an operating system as robust as Windows. At the exact same specs, a PC would probably not perform ...
