I'm spoiled for choice! What ever will I do with so many games?? Oh woe is me!!!

First-world problems much?

This segment of the Game Awards was the gaming equivalent of The Room. Josef Fares even sounded like Tommy Wiseau. The excitement over what is looking like a mediocre-at-best-terrible-at-w orst game, the "F*** you, Oscars!", the unintended digs at EA, Geoff as the straight man to all the insanity, the guy's coked-out-of-his-mind intensity... it was the Alpha and Omega of comedy. I was literally hurting and crying from the laughter. It was seriously beautiful. Just thinking of EA...

OH BROTHER. They're really running out of reasons to b*tch unnecessarily, don't they?

Here's the thing: Microsoft as a whole and the XBox division are basically separate entities. The XBox division might wanna acquire EA, but the mother company and its investors would balk. Microsoft is a very image-conscious conpany, too, especially since they're the company that makes the biggest OS in the world, so they'd froen on acquiring a company with such a poisoned name.

I literally felt a knot in my throat when I saw the trailer. Megaman has been my favorite videogame character since the first game back in '87, and knowing that he's making a comeback genuinely made me emotional.

I don't think there's been a single game in history as rightfully criticized as Battlefront 2. I'm so glad that EA is getting called out for all this bullcrap. I read somewhere that EA's stock has been hit with $3 billion in loss, so the shareholders sure know what's up.

This was a winning year for Nintendo, to be sure, but Sony hasn't been affected. If anything, this has been a premier year for Sony's exclusives. The Switch, like previous Nintendo systems, has a special niche without dipping into the other big three's pond. Unlike the Wii-U, though, the Switch has a clearer plan and identity.

That was a mercy kill. LucasArts was a shadow of its former glorious self. It was just a Star Wars game-churning crapfest. Double Fine and Telltale have filled that niche nicely.

So if I follow this link, I'll be able to afford all the stuff in Battlefront 2?

Microtransactions can work, depending on the circumstances. However, the bare minimum requirement for them should be that any game that includes them MUST BE FREE. If you have to pay as much as a single penny for the game, microtransactions should not be in any way, shape or form an integral part of the game, they should be cosmetic at most. For a good reference point, see Warframe.

So, money-grubbing business practices: ok.
Anal probe jokes: not ok.

This is how horrendously bad the design is for this game, that players have to resort to cheating to be able to grind enough to be able to enjoy it.

This game is rewarding to no one. The "best" players are the ones willing to throw money at the game to get an advantage, and the ones who put the most time to work for their rewards earn peanuts. How this game can be truly enjoyable to anyone is beyond me. There is absolutely no parity whatsoever.

Even of the game doesn't flop, it'll still underperform to expectations of shareholders and Disney themselves. Even if EA doesn't lose the rights to the franchise, don't be surprised of Disney decides to send a few execs to keep EA on a shorter leash where Star Wars is concerned. You simply do not mess with Disney's image, and EA messed up HARD in that regard.

The problem with lootboxes is not that they're gambling, it's that they take advantage of the same addictive tendencies that make for compulsive gambling. I don't see a problem with them, though... AS LONG AS THEY'RE FREE and obtained through in-game effort. When you start charging premium for them, then it becomes pay2win AND worse than gambling, cause as infinitely small as it may be, at least gambling has a chance of return on investment. Digital goods have no real-life ben...

Warframe is my go-to example every time there's an article on microtransactions. The microtransaction model CAN work, but it only does if it's entirely optional, mostly focused on aesthetics and that it isn't detrimental to players who'd rather not invest. Warframe, being focused on PvE, doesn't punish non-paying players, and the PvP that there is in the game takes away all paid advantages and has players go head-to-head at base level. You can buy frames and weapons, yes,...

As powerful as the XB1X might be, there's still no exclusives to get excited about. I don't see why to get a more powerful machine that doesn't have any games I couldn't get on a gaming PC. And to anyone who says that the powerful hardware is the biggest selling point, wait til January for the sales numbers to drop, and you'll see the PS4 will have outsold the XB1X in software and the Switch will have outsold it in both software AND hardware.

Great games...

It's a common problem with Activision Marvel games. The Spider-Man games also ran like crap.

As for the Deadpool game itself, it was a standard action games, not amazing in any way, but it IS gut-bustingly funny. It's worth playing just for the writing alone.

Sonic Team doesn't need to do anything. Sonic fans are such subnormal sheep that they'll always buy the games in droves no matter how shit they are.

As much as I live John Constantine, he is NOT a fighter. He doesn't even have that much innate power. Constantine is a con man who manipulates the supernatural for his own ends, not a superhero duking it out with everyone. You might as well add a member of the Endless to the roster, for how ridiculous it'd be.

Personally, if I wanted a supernatural member of the DCU to apoear in the game, it'd be Jason Blood/Etrigan.

Both Hellboy and the TMNT have comic crossovers with DC, specifically Batman, so they even fit within the overall DC universe. By that token, upcoming packs should have Spawn and Judge Dredd. They'd both fit in PERFECTLY. I'd give my newborn for Dredd, myself, he's my absolute favorite comic book character ever.
