Ehh.I disagree with the Wii will win by "large margins" part for the holidays.
Its been trending down for several months,no price cuts are on the horizon, and MS and Sony are likely to have at least SOME impact with their motion systems.
But we will see right?
Doesnt the 3DS come out early next year? They should have tried to have it ready for the Xmas season. Both Sony and MS are happy Nintendo didnt though!

A Dealer may have to pay a premium when buying a car from Ford off lease auction to have a "certified" model.Thats basically purchasing an extended warranty from Ford on it and its optional.
Ford makes money selling the parts to the dealer to recondition the used car.
Ford may be making a buck on them if they floorplan with them or the car is ultimately...

I have no issues in buying used games. They were purchased at least. If i elect to sell it,trade it, or give it away is my business. If i start burning copies of it and selling them is another matter.
Maybe they broke a street date. Maybe some night stockperson wasnt paying attention and restocked 360's from the wrong pile in the back? If this happened at a Walmart,target,etc, i'd be more inclined to think its the latter.
A true gamer should politely smile at a self proclaimed hardcore Wii Sports gamer, then find a room out of earshot of that person and laugh your arse off.

Not sure how old you are, but ive been a gamer since i got my hands on a 2600 around 81'. Ive seen alot of gaming innovations and trends come and go. Still dont understand the facination with Pokemon games so many have....
Anyway, If Kinect is this decades "Power glove" or the next Wii in terms of popularity and acceptanc...
I have alot of friends and relatives with a Wii in their house. Im sure you do too. They crank it up (probably not everyday), play it usually in a group or take turns, and everyone seems to be having fun. I dont see how people like this are some kind of threat to your gamer tag.

Average "Joe consumer" doesnt care who developed what when. Who capitalizes it and markets it sucsessfully usually triumphs over who invented it and did nothing or too little with it.Ask Xerox how their GUI idea panned out for them.....

My daughter is going to love this.First time ive seen this much "in depth" footage for Kinect.
It should be the PSP2 IMO even if its not.What I mean is making it a smartphone and a portable game system.This would give it a definate edge over the DS.
I had alot of good times with every gen of video game system back to the Atari 2600. Some of the best times was with the NES,Genesis,and PS 1+2.

A "base" 360 has been somewhat close if not at the Wii's price point for a majority of the last 4 years or so.Wii was $249.00 at launch.
Sure the price posed a factor,but the "family friendly" control scheme was a huge draw.
I know they have plans for hybrid controller/Kinect games in the future, but that will not be because its a failure. The ad campaign MS has chosen at launch is you dont need a controller to play a game.Well technically thats correct.Might not be a in depth game, but its still games. Its somthing different to pitch to the public,and having hybrid games at launch too could make things more confusing.
Sony has chosen to put out somthing alot more "Wii like", and thats fine.But...
Thats true radphil. It only took almost half a decade for Nintendo's console to start selling at numbers the 360/PS3 are somewhat satisfied with.And they did it with surprisingly few price cuts over 4 years using last gen hardware. Its still got a commanding first place lead WW too and will remain so for a long time..
I doubted it would have been such a sucsessful console and dont want one, but credit must be given when its due.
I agree with Cyborg.30k to build the first prototype isnt that high.The first 360 or PS3 prototypes probably cost alot more.
Maybe its because im used to hearing what prototype/concept cars cost being in the biz.
No more or less than Kevin Butler cares about Sony. Hes a actor too and being the PS3 faceman is his job.
MS isnt just going for the Wii audience,they wish to expand it. The Wii is limited as far as online. Take a Wii like gaming experience,add online vid chat,group movie watching,social networking,etc, and you may have somthing alot of people would be interested in.
And it doesnt matter whose R&D department created what first.Its all about who markets/supports it best.
This is actually better than the Oprah spot IMO.Ellen is known for "shaking her booty" anyway, so a dance game + Ellen was a smart move.
