Yeah well they are both going for the Wii's turf.Except now it has the price advantage (including the system) and a pile of games (even without the many shovelware titles).
I think Sony's best move is to push it towards hardcore players mainly, which wont dent Wii sales really. The side effect is sales akin to a good force feedback racing wheel.Its cool,but not everybody has one.

Agreed. All MS has to do is throw a 16GB USB or two in the box down the road, and they can advertise a 20 or 36GB SKU.
A $400 250Gb bundle I dont think would be as enticing to their Kinect launch audience.
I do think they should have priced the standalone Kinect for a little less though. Or maybe a promotional price/rebate for existing 360 owners?
Add ons can be risky. The games were more limited and everyone that had that Sega system couldnt play them without having the manditory extra.Would have been better off launching a new system that was BC IMO.
History COULD repeat itself with Kinect and Move.......
But theres alot of other factors too that could decide their fate.

Nintendo really outsmarted MS and Sony this gen. Both systems were built for years untill either company actually profited from the hardware. Well if the new "entry level" PS3 will remain at $299.00, MS wont have any reason to reduce the price on the 360's this holiday season.

Im in the car biz too.Worked for franchise dealers in sales/service over the years and am now a independent dealer (I'll never work for anyone but myself again..YAY!). Your right that those kind of things are common. Its usually only one car at that price thats sold already or you get there and find out its a model without A/C,is a 5 speed,lime green in color,etc.

Hey I love my 360S (actually contributed to that July number), but theres NO WAY the 360 will be 7 million up on the PS3 by year end. Thats as dilusional as the people last year claiming the PS3 slim would overtake the 360 WW by the end of 09'.

Ive only had a current gen console for 3 years or so and didnt get "true" high speed internet untill about a year and a half ago (yes I live in the sticks and satelite internet was barely better than dial up and NOT suitable for gaming). Soooo..Not counting Worms,Civilization,and other turned based PC games going back to the mid 90's, offline multiplayer was the norm for me console wise.

I love playing L4D 1 and 2. It requires teamwork IMO. The "run off ahead Rambo" often gets snagged by a special infected.

Playing Survivor mode in a game is bad.
