Playstation is a brand name going back to the mid 90's and the alure of it doubling as a Blu ray player was certainly a draw to some. The previous model DESTROYED the competition in terms of market share.
No matter who is where a year or two from now,MS has done well to not only retain second place...but to keep it through 2010 (at least).Thats quite a accomplishment.
And again,I wouldnt place bets on when/if Sony takes second. Odds are good, but the odds are good they won...

I think he was refering to the article stating "the end of 2012". Thats two years from now and the PS3 is 4 years old.
4+2...is?

I have a issue with any "without a doubt this will happen" statements made by people without a crystal ball (that works!).
ANYTHING can happen between now and the "end of 2012" and nobody can really know. You cant go just by current trends and data because that can change in a heartbeat...letalone 2 years from now.
Theres just too many potential variables.

Its been a vision for MS and other companies to have a "box" in the living room that handles all of the living room entertainment needs. Didnt think this article was much of a "revelation".
Sony pioneered this with the PS2 as many of them were peoples first DVD players.
LIVE should have had a web browser long ago too IMO. Maybe with Kinect thats coming.

"I'll take parents for $500 Alex"

When I have the occasional displeasure of playing with a kid online and its a M rated game,I feel like backhanding the parents. Two main reasons why:

1) Its a Mature game.Do you let them watch porn too?
2) Your letting your kid talk and interact with people you dont know unsupervised.

One thing I will say about the industry is that they know theres alot of parents ignorant to game...

You dont put a disc in a Ipod anywhere either or a PSPGo.There WILL be Move's and Kinect's given as gifts without consoles to go with them.

I will. We are one of the few households that doesnt have a Wii, and were contemplating getting our daughter one or Natal (at the time). After seeing the available launch titles for Kinect, theres 3 or 4 of them right up her alley. Yeah..Shes gonna be playing with Skittles.I'd rather spend a few hundred on a non obtrusive sensor mounted above the TV than trip over even more motorized hampsters (with tracks),Barbie dolls, and annoying "Paper Jamz".
Most of "my" ...

Good video but misleading title IMO. The title suggests hes a impartial fitness trainer giving his opinion on the game. But hes actually a "ambassador" for the game itself!
Do I mention this to bash? Not at all, and its a game I have a interest in. He may very well be happy about it and comes across as being sincere.

I never have either. My best friends did,but you name a way to abuse electronics and his 360 was put through it (improper ventilation, dusty enviorment, left on for 12-24 hours SEVERAL times etc).Still lasted him about 2 1/2 years and was fixed for free.

If there was no video games, they would have blaimed Columbine on movies, music lyrics, too much (insert chemical here) in the water supply, brought up in a single family, mommy never loved me,my girlfriend rejected me,etc.
Take some personal responsibilty for your kids!
Someone that messed up in the head that thinks killing people is cool and acted on it, didnt become that way just from playing Doom.

lol.Didnt take it that way.Nelson is more what you thought Greenberg was.

5557d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Greenberg is "Chief of interactive entertainment business". Pretty large role IMO.

5557d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

They have different jobs there.Nelson is a "faceman" for Live.Think Kevin Butler in a smaller (basically only seen on Live) and less funny capacity. Now Greenberg? Well how many units they are selling is his business.

5557d ago 5 agree1 disagreeView comment

I dont know why people actually ran with it.MS already disclosed their offical numbers and the Nelson blog (that was primarily made to highlight Live users), suddenly became the "real" figures.
LOL..Articles were even written based on Majors numbers...Like the one on top of n4g currently.

Doesnt matter anyway. Sony and MS have enough consoles sold this gen to do fine.

Well I did DVR Xplay, but never watched the channel otherwise. Not counting E3 highlights and other "special events". G4 isnt available in any form in my area now.Local cable doesnt carry it.
Oh well...
EDIT.I feel like a idiot. I have Dish Network now, so I guess i'm still good.

Join me when the government gets involved in all these other behavioral and speech things that they try to tell you and control us we can't do: What kind of car we have to drive, whether or not we're responsible for global warming, the kind of lightbulb we have to have, where our thermostats are. Maybe "Wiipads" for your knees to give a full body experience?
Sounds just silly enough Nintendo might do that doesnt it?

Lets see.. You have a Kinect now even though it doesnt launch until next week, and MS doesnt have the LIVE updates available yet?
What is there like 3 people this news story would be potentially addressing? You know someone who has a Kinect in hand now AND is just itching to log into LIVE with it?
Slow news day I guess......
