Im not so much interested in the movement thing when playing a "regular game", but the voice recognition could be interesting. it would be nice to tell a AI player what to do rather than select it with the joystick as a example.
Or a Star Trek game where your on the bridge speaking the orders......
I see alot of potential things a developer can do with this.
Wel im not a Call of Duty fantatic either. My friend is though. I like the game, but the controls to me are not as tight as say...Valves shooters.
Yeah..Its a handheld market there for sure!
Yeah ive owned them all.Even the shovelware titles (except Small Brawl).
The first one,II of course, and Black/Head On were the only notable ones IMO.
I bought my PSP for Twisted Metal!
Would have put Twisted Metal II on the list myself.
I know GTA III was the "first", but I loved Vice City.
A Burnout game might have been a nice addition too.
What about Tetris???
My wife and daughter gave me the 360 version for Fathers Day.
Its alot of fun.
Nice post. This may help you get another bubble.
I like my PC for gaming but like my console too.Depends on what type of game I feel like playing.
The convienence and social aspects (offline) of consoles are hot buttons for me.
Considering no one knows how much it will be,when it comes out, what type of games it will have, how it will be marketed...etc
Seems kind of premature to me to label it a fail.
I thought the Scion Xb looked like a silly mini fridge with wheels when it was announced, and they sold like hotcakes.
That raises a interesting question.
Which market has the most FPS shooters in it? In terms of variety and sales.
"Hardcore" could mean "niche" as well you know.
The article defends the notion that PC gaming isnt dead, but have the current consoles taken a bite out of it?
I havent looked for data myself to know.
Awesome avatar BTW. Big Bruce Campbell fan.
Yeah,I guess with hard drive sizes getting so large, DL's would get even more popular.
I do miss browsing the aisles though. And there used to be "asiles" too of PC games..Not just a little tree in the middle of the store with 40 games in it tops.
But I cant help reading this articles "reasons" and saying to myself "niche market", "niche market"..etc
Sure MMO's. WOW alone helped the PC game cause.
Sure graphic...
I dont think PC gaming is dead, but I remember ALOT more shelf space devoted to PC games at stores like Gamestop 5 years ago.
Whats the refund/exchange policy on downloaded games? Even if the game was "bad' as you say..ala Full Auto II? The merchant pushes shovelware just as bad as the developers can.Ever played Lair? Wasnt that a Sony game? Think they wouldnt be pushing that on their website where you download all these games??
What if your download is corupted but THEIR records show it went through fine?
The only advantage is not having to order or drive to the store to get it and its "inst...
Music made more sense for the DL boom to me though.
How many times have you bought a entire album for 15 bucks (or more), and all the songs but one or two sucked?
And a song is a relatively small download with a small cost to boot.
I can fill a CD with music I LOVE for the cost of one album.
Dont need to worry about downloading a instruction manual either like you would a game.
zok310,
I dont see any "convienence" to having a copy I cant sell,give away,donate to charity,store in a closet for 20 years..etc
And im all about capitalism!
Thoughts after reading Close Second below....
And if Sony eventually drops the UMD format or puts some games only as a DL? That means I would have to buy a larger memory stick and HAVE to download all my games? Basically saying the PSP flopped?
My response would be picking up a DSi.
My Xmas list is full of sequels I see:
L4D2, Bioshock II,Dead Rising II,Modern Warfare II...etc
Nice to see Bioshock at the 10 spot, considering it didnt get alot of talk at E3 (I understand info on it was released prior).
Im so glad I had a physical copy of Full Auto II to sell back.
It wasnt worth the UMD it was printed on.
I also like being able to loan my friend Lumines II.
If its the same price,id just assume own a PHYSICAL copy for my PSP thank you.
Im kind of fond of 2 player offline co op myself with a friend.
Me and my best friend really enjoy a good spilt screen co op.
Not to say it isnt fun to go online with more players sometimes.
Is that a Delorean I saw around 1:08?
Fan of both.Little disapointed in RE5 though.
Brought back memories of playing Warbirds on a Atari Lynx II I had years ago.
That was a fun game.
