Its fun to theorize what the video game market would be like, but no one really knows or can know right? Its like asking what the world would be like if WWII never happened or the TV wasnt invented.
But since its all in fun....
What if there was a massive anti PS3 backlash (due to price) and the PS3 was STILL in third behind the Wii and PS2?
What features WOULD NOT be on the PS3 since the 360 never "existed"?
What quality of game would you have seeing as ...

I dont think it was as bad as most video game movies,
but it wasnt good enough to be in my DVD collection.
The editing at times was horrible, the soundtrack belonged in a rave (coming from a techno fan),and the movie hasnt aged well at all.
Plus the acting was...ehh. Christopher Lambert was the only enjoyable character to me.

Games like Bioshock have a better storyline than most movies nowdays anyway IMO.
I have never seen a movie adaptation of a videogame that was good so far,but theres a first time for everything.
Tomb Raider,Resident Evil,Mario Brothers,Mortal Kombat,etc..all were awful IMO. Doom made Super Mario Brothers look good!
Im still amazed that a decent movie trio was made from a ride at Disney World. Of course they were VERY loosely based off the ride itself.

I played alot of good Bally/Midway Pinball machines, but they dropped out of the pinball biz years ago.

I expect a certain level of "sameness" when buying a sequel though.
I think most people do.
Im betting your planning on buying GOW3. At a basic level,is it not similar to the previous one? Graphics aside of course?

And pathway changes depending on how good/bad your playing.
Weapon/health upgrades for those who go a longer/more dangerous route
And I think random weather changes too?
Finales involve getting from A to B rather than finding a defensive spotnd waiting out a rescue vessel.
Triggers that require some sort of action by you before the hoarde ceases.
They are also going more for a actual storyline this time.

Well assuming this graph is acurate, the console market has risen and the PC game market has fallen. So somthings going on.

I'd like to respectfully disagree with Fantasystar as far as including a HDTV into the cost of owning a console. That same HDTV is probably already in your living room showing "Happy Days" reruns, so I dont see factoring that as part of consoles price. You dont even HAVE to have a HDTV really (but try playing Dead Rising without it)
Most peo...

Ditto on the Japanese sports car love. I used to own a 91' MR2 turbo and have had 7 Z cars from a 71' 240z to a 03' 350Z.
Miss my 84' Celica GTS too.

Would many people really care if it was physically smaller?
Its not like the PS3 requires garage space to fit it in your home.

Well..At least im not the only one who thinks RE5 is broken.
That has been the 60 bucks wasted for me this year so far.
Very disapointed.
If your not just talking part II's, Soldier of Fortune: Payback and Twisted Metal III were both horrible.

Gaming has never been cheaper really.
Case in point.A original Atari 2600 in 77' had a list of $199.99
Thats almost $700 in todays money after adjusting for inflation.
And a copy of that crappy 2600 Pac Man in the early 80's cost almost 90 bucks after adjusting for inflation.

I found the first one well worth the price of admission.
So of course the second looks like a even better deal IMO. More this, more that.....

I should also add the convienence factor too. Playing at my friends house involves carrying my controller and a copy of the game to his place.
Im far enough away from my big screen that it looks pretty good IMO.

I didnt know the PC version does split screen though.

I wish the videos would work for me :(

On a side note, Is this site called N4G or L4D?
Lots of L4D articles today.

I have both versions, but I prefer the 57" screen, split screen co op,and the home theater myself.
Im even comfortable with a controller with it after years of FPS mousing (but cant say the same for ALL FPS)

The last game I preordered was GTA IV.
Walked into the Gamestop on my lunch hour and picked it up.
Of course the place was pretty quiet and they had TONS of copies on hand.
That was the last time I bothered preordering.

Makes perfect sense.
The first one was a unknown entity but valve fans im sure were excited.
Shes a franchise now with a broader appeal to the masses.

Yes because we all know PC people who enjoy modding their games and such, could NEVER figure out how to inflate a unscientific internet poll.
Wait for the sales numbers.
Unless the game bombs in reviews (and people who have already played just a part of it at E3 dont think so), I'd expect it to top the first one.

Uhh..What reason would that be again?

Valve announced no more support for L4D? Actually I read differently from them. Whos right?
Game feels unfinished? Its the highest rated, still popular to this day "unfinished game" ive ever seen.
I think ole Chet jokingly made a legitiment point.

Oh and maybe the PC is where the parties at.
But im not into Michael Jackson mods, user created RE inspired levels, or being able to play as a nude Zoey...
