I paid my $39 for a year. One feature worth the dough right now to me is One vs 100. I would have paid 40 bucks for that alone (of course i wouldnt expect commericals in it then, but its a good time to look up friends or use the little boys room/make a drink).
Eh..Having BC I think was a good move early on.Nice way to bridge people over to the PS3. I dont think Sony handled it as well as they could though.Read about certain games having issues and the 20 gig launch wasnt BC right?
But now with 2010 almost here? BC isnt a big issue anymore.
My 360 has it,but I never owned or played a original Xbox game.
The 360 is dying around the world and Japan is used as evidence of this? Can anyone here honestly say with a straight face the 360 had a shot of being #1 in Japan?
The only thing I could see seriously boosting 360 sales in Japan is if they embrace Natal over there in a BIG way. Were talking bigger than Monster Hunter/Pokemon game way.
I dont think severely discounted 360's on Black Friday added that much to the tally. "Doorbusters" are limited in quantity as everyone knows. So 10-20 people at "X" location camped out all night to save $100. Happens every year.......
Im personally surprised at Novembers numbers considering Sonys aggresive moves lately. A new SKU,great advertising tagline, and nice game selection. Anyone who hoped MS was out of the game was sadly mistaken.
But Sony has salvage...
1. Grand Theft Auto 4
I enjoyed it alot and it sold very well, had DLC spinoffs that did/do well. I wouldnt put it on my personal overhype list.
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Its popular and reviews ive read put it above MW. Guess its worth the money to those that want it. No hype there.
3. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
See MW2
4. Halo 3
Over 2 years old and still demands a higher price tag on the shelves than 2 month old g...
Please no one translate this that im being a apologist for the 360, but the dismal economy in 09' has limited how much ive spent buying games (among other things),so a exclusive "drought" kinda worked in my favor. I would have bought a PS3 this year too. Becoming one of the 10% unemployed earlier this year made that happen.
Oh well. Now im a self employed small biz owner looking forward to 2010 for alot of reasons.....
I would have added Ghostbusters to the list. Basically for the same reason they gave for Batman. Movie games tend to suck too.
I was cautiously optomistic though and enjoyed Ghostbusters myself.
I agree.makes you wonder if the PS2's utter dominance actually caused a slowdown in innovation. Dont get me wrong, I loved my PS1 and PS2. Didnt even know anyone personally with a Xbox then.
But yeah none of the three current systems are going the way of the Dreamcast at this point. No matter who ends up in second or third place (first place I think is a given). The only thing i disagree with you on is your confidence the PS3 will take 2nd place. If it takes 2 years to equal hardware s...
lol..I know what you mean.
Well, nothing ruins inciteful posts, debate, and discussion better.
Godmars, Sega and Nintendo certanly DID worry and react to each other back in the day.Do you recall Sega's "Genesis does what Nintendont" campaign???
Not all that different from "it only does everything" when you think about it.
Time "ragazine" cant even report the news right, so im not surprised they would botch this too.
I mean come on...#3 DJ hero???
If there is a market for gay characters in video games, then I dont have a issue with it provided its rated accordingly. My kids not getting "Dora's gay friend" for the DS.
And im not a homophobe. I just tire of why a certain group of people with a specific fetish feel the need to tell everyone about it and try to convince me its fine. Im not into guys, trees, animals, bondage, and several other fetishes thats just a few mouse clicks away. What gets you off is your business.

Im loving the game, but im biased having really enjoyed the first one too.Just about everything is a improvement and theres more of just about everything.
If you thought the first one was "ehh", then you probably wont get into this one either. I've been wrong before though ;)
MORE goverment oversight and regs???? Thats what helped cause the big blowup last year.Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac anyone? Run by liberals with all the "greatest intentions" in the world.EVERYONE deserves a house and we will apply political pressure on you if a certain quota isnt met! It was a failure like the war on poverty.
We would likley be out of this recession if the goverment stopped trying to "help".The free market always fixes itself.
I think you buying digital along with everyone else is why the PC section in Gamestop is almost a afterthought.
Thats just the times changing. Blaim high speed internet and huge HD's!
I do miss browsing "physical" copies of PC games myself though.
No comment really on your Walmart view.Other than i'm personally a small business owner and I shop there.
Spiky touched on anything else I could add on that matter.
You can always compete with WalMart even though your smaller if you cater to a niche market. Walmart tends to have a little bit of everything, but not alot of one kind of thing.
Gamestop has ALOT more variety of games.Gamestop has people on hand who are there to answer Q's (and are usually gamers).Gamestop does offer gamer specific services such as trades, disc repairs, used games, preordering, etc. Even if they are not used by you,its there.
I have shopped at both and neither are pe...
500 should be a decent sample size.Especially considering Polls like Presidential job approval, etc usually have samples in the 900-1400 range.
And that is considered a accurate sample of 300 million Americans.
Interesting watch. One error though. My 20g "Pro" has HDMI,but didnt come with a HDMI cable.
Maybe they didnt in Eurpoe though?
Watched all 3 rounds and im generally in agreement so far.I prefer the 360 controller. The triggers are a big plus as is its larger size/heft.D pad works fine for me as most of my favorites only use it for secondary functions but the PS3 one is better.I dont play Street Fighter so I'll take the triggers thank you. A rechargeable battery would ha...
All that hardware is useless when a "scientist" with a agenda is operating it.
A hearty salute to the "Climategate" hacker(s).
