You still have to change discs whenever you want to play a different game.
If you really want to avoid disc-switching, go digital-only on a PC.
... the 360 user is paying for online, so not everyone is paying the same price to get the experience.
Still doesn't justify Activision's polarity though, but I just wanted to point out the pricing bit.
"Whoever buys MW3 and pays for Elite is not considered a gamer in my eyes......a gamer...well an intelligent human being."
In my eyes, an intelligent human being wouldn't make that comment.
It's their money, and they will buy games that they find fun and they'll subscribe to elite if they believe it is worth it.
If you're not going to buy the next CoD game, that's fine. If you want to urge people to not buy the ...
@Chocoboh
... The footage isn't from the Metro map (which is multiplayer) nor is it from any trailer.
So it isn't footage from the alpha.
"Steam/Valve isn't doing anything that is anti-competitive (in fact it is Origin/EA who is withholding games/DLC to monopolize revenue from its games/DLC by blocking its sale elsewhere and only available on Origin"
... err, Valve doesn't allow any other digital retailer to sell their games.
That's pretty anti-competitive if you ask me.
^ Well, I got BF3 from Origin at 25% off, and they also gave me the choice of getting one of DeadSpace2/MassEffect2/MoH for free. So they aren't all that bad.
I don't see why you'd go to retail anyways when you can go to D2D and pre-order BF3 for $48.56 (use the code WATULUNKGAT).
Considering that EA actually funds their devs, I'd rather more of my money go to them than a retailer which doesn't have much of a hand in the game's creatio...
... won't do you any good if those retail copies have to be activated on Origin (like BF3)
^ ... what about steamgamesales?
As for indie devs, Steam isn't actually as benevolent to indie devs... or rather, they're quite picky on which devs they support.
There's a bit of controversy there as many indie devs have tried to get their games on steam, but valve has denied them due to their own rules.
They had the previous battlefield games for $5 (i.e. BF2/2142)... along with a few other deals a while ago.
They kind of have to offer these kind of sales in order to compete.
Steam isn't the only place with amazing deals.
GamersGate, Impulse, D2D and GreenManGaming also have amazing prices. Even GFWL has an awesome deal once in a blue moon.
EA will have to do the same.
The alpha had much better hit reg so they seem to be on the right track.
I look forward to being sniped by more shotguns.
"The game has a noticeable aim assist. That right there is enough reason to say that COD requires no skill."
I play on the PC, so I wouldn't know about aim assists.
... and although health is low, there still is plenty of time to react and fight back. I mostly run-n-gun with a pump-action shotgun or an SMG and campers are pretty easy to take down.
You just have to be aware of your surrounding and check the obvious camping spots.

Valve is an independent developer, and as such, I believe they would count as 'indie'.
I don't think the actual size of the group matters.
Saying perks kill for you is like saying that weapons kill for you.
They are just a part of the game, and they add to the strategy of the game.
Seeing another player first isn't luck. Map knowledge comes into play there... and seeing the other player first doesn't guarantee a kill either.
There is no perk that kills people when you die. There is a perk that kills people who impatiently run over dead bodies though.
... and the ...
Isn't valve itself considered an indie dev? O.o
@floerty
It's not a 'news article', it's an opinion piece.
... and a warning will do nothing.
You're better off reporting the article if you feel there's something wrong.
EDIT: Yea, it's a sad state, but not much can be done about that.
The real world isn't all that different either.
... super mario galaxy was pretty good. =/
... you still commented, which results in more heat, which will result in more hits.
So no need to apologize, you still did them a favor.
It goes for realism... but it isn't exactly a simulation as it sacrifices a few elements for funs sake.
It's somewhere between ARMA and Battlefield, in a WW2 setting.
I haven't had a chance to play the beta for RO2, but I pre-ordered the DDE simply because I had a blast with the first game.
... and I'm not really the kind of guy that likes realism in his shooters.
I'm not seeing the BS excuses.
The guy just explained Elite's features and said why he thinks they're worth it.
It's an opinion piece and all he's doing is stating his opinion in comparison to how he initially felt.
Luckily, the comments regarding the dishonesty of the title are lower in the comments section.
Means there'll be lots of lulz worthy comments near the top of the page.
