I actually like DLC that is only 'custom skins' because it doesn't affect the gameplay of someone who doesn't buy them (provided the skins themselves aren't grossly imbalanced with camoflage)
KillingFloor is a game that uses this kind of system. If you like the game and want to support the devs, buy some character skins as DLC. The devs will however release all maps/gameplay-related content for free.
Anyways, I wouldn't mind if they ju...
BFBC2's content was game-modes.
In BF3, the maps are open to all game-modes, so they can't do what they did with BFBC2.
Even then, the only content you had to pay for in BC2 was the Vietnam Expansion, and the little co-op thing they did. I only bought vietnam, and it was well-worth the asking price.
DICE's expansions are usually worth the dough.
"which makes me wonder why should I even play it at all on console if it was TRULY made for PC?"
... because maybe you don't have a PC capable of running the game?
Why focus on what someone else might get to experience. Focus on your own experience. If you're happy with what the game promises and think it's worth the money, then pre-order it.
How the game performs or plays on the PC shouldn't detract anything from your own ga...
Yea, the maps seem a bit too... same~y, but night mode adds a twist... and maybe it'll actually feel normal to have people running around with flashlights.
Considering what they've shown with the tech demos, I don't see why they can't make multiple variations of the same map with different time-of-day.
I was hoping for a bit more snow though.
Oh well, guess I'll have to wait a few years before someone makes a snow/desert map with r...
.. you regret it because the developer is giving the PC version extra attention? O.o
Meh.
If they never made a PC version altogether, then your experience wouldn't have changed much.
The game would've just released earlier due to a shorter development time, that's mostly it.
Also, according to bfbcs, PC has the 2nd highest amount of players for BC2, behind the 360. Not bad for what was essentially a console port.
... but DI...
... you'll change your tune once you see footage of someone flying a jet through the legs of a brachiosaurus while chasing down a pterodactyl
... and as the jet gets close to the ground you see some guy in an ATV driving away while being chased by velociraptors
... and then the velociraptors sink into the ground.
Who's to complain if the milk tastes good?
... but Chrome is notoriously bad when it comes to managing memmory with multiple tabs.
Not a fan of those crosshairs... and the fov looks dodgy too.
... but that's just me being a critic for no reason.
"PC gaming has the problem of creating divas."
As far as I know, the author also plays on consoles.
So, I don't see how you can pin the blame on 'PC gaming'.
There aren't many diva-like opinions stated by the author either.
tldr version: My PC isn't as good as my PS3 therefore all PCs lack the hardware to compete with PS3's tech.
I don't even know if you're being serious by saying that those games aren't possible on PC. You're like a bad parody of a casual console owner, believing in some mystical power out of old hardware.
In the video, a jet does crash while clipping the falling tower.
Although it could just be a scripted even from the SinglePlayer campaign.
Oh well, on the up side, the game is friendly with FRAPS.
Payday is another game that they've done. (Or rather, are doing)
I don't see why they'd make their popular exclusives go to PC though. The exclusives are part of the reasons people buy the console to begin with. They'd loose more than they'd gain by having those games on PC.
However, it would be cool if they ported the older games like Warhawk as you mentioned since PC users would just host their own servers, adding life to an old game.
Like a boss.
... I guess the same question can be asked for Optimus Prime.
@limewax
That... sort of depends.
When both have sales, then they both have similar prices.
... but the thing is, Origin's games aren't exclusive to origin's store.
For example, you can pre-order BF3 from places like D2D or GMG (both which offer a much better price) and then activate it on Origin.
Valve doesn't let you do the same with their games (i.e. you can't buy their games from any other digital reta...
^ I think it's just a case of investors seeing a nice little law they can use to their advantage and hopping onto it.
At the end of the day, they want to make money, and if a country allows them to strip some rights off the consumer, then why not take advantage of it.
^ You can't?
I've had a few buildings collapse on me in Caspian (ones near the gas station), so it would appear that you can collapse them.
The 35 million steam users don't necessarily have a PC capable of running crysis on a very high setting.
By console standards, 3.5 million isn't much.
Crysis could sell that much on consoles, but it has a few obstacles on consoles such as being a download-only. (for now?)
The target isn't too hard to attain.
... and I sincerely doubt that a $500 PC in 2006 can run Crysis on the same level as the current console version.
... err, what does release date have to do with a demo?
