I still play KZ2 from time to time, usually find a game on evenings (EST, Warzone, ~24 players)
The game seems to have a more active european community (compared to the US), so finding a match will probably be easier if you're from there.
No dice on the DLC maps though. GG should just make them free for everyone. I want some beach head action. =/
R2's failure is kind of why R3 didn't do so well in the multiplayer department.
The existing fans were already soured with R2, and with so many shooters releasing near the same time, it didn't really stand a chance.
As for KZ3, I actually like the quicker controls, but for me, the deal-braking issue is the lack of any server browser.
Not necessarily.
The grinding nature of most modern shooters kind of results in small maps being played the most, but that doesn't mean those maps are liked the most.
... but it is 'free'.
For the same price as a kinect, you get a game for free.
This isn't any different from retailers selling new systems with one or two 'free' games bundled in.
It's a marketing strategy, but I don't see why it should be banned when it's just describing the deal.
"I hate call of duty, but if they did this i would support it. Cause I support the Vita."
Isn't that like saying that you hate CoD, but because it's available on the PS3, you'll support it because you support PS3? O.o
... but they aren't exactly using an F2P model with KZ3.
It's half-way between an F2P game, and a demo.
F2P games rely on microtransactions, which wouldn't make much sense in Killzone's universe.
I always figured that if Sony wanted to actually experiment with the F2P model, then Uncharted3 would be the perfect choice. When the game's numbers start to fall, they can make the game's MP free and sell heroes/villains or clothing i...
Origin is doing a poor job of competing with Steam.
If anything, their business practices are actually making Valve look better than before.
How is EA planning to compete with Steam when they can't even match Steam's prices on their OWN games?
(And this is overlooking the stupid agreement Origin makes you agree to)
Amazon's digital store, GreenManGaming, GamersGate and hell, even D2D/Gamefly & Impulse are putting up a fight. Or...
... why leave it?
It isn't exactly uncommon practice for DICE to play around with the balancing of weapons for some time after release.
If they just leave it, then the game naturally devolves into everyone using the same OP weapons all the time.
@Hufandpuf
When they patched the hitreg fix to BC2 (around last Winter before Vietnam) they managed to break tracers on bullets.
That's just the nature of games these days. When there's so much code, it's kind of difficult to make a lot of changes without inadvertently screwing something else up.
If the game is a steamworks title, then I usually buy from elsewhere. Places like GreenManGaming and Amazon usually are cheaper (sometimes even more than Steam's sales), and they just give you a code to activate on Steam.
It's a privately owned company with a small number of employees.
They can make a living off of TF2 hats, and with no investors to worry about, there's not much reason to screw customers for the extra buck.
Why should it have been in the retail copy in the first place? O.o
Considering that 1 out of 5 people chose to pay for a game that they were able to get for free, that's not a bad ratio.
Also, pirated copies doesn't necessarily mean a lost sale; some people could have pirated it, liked it, and bought it or they simply weren't planning on buying it to begin with.
Lastly, you're saying that PC gamers are shooting themselves in the foot, yet, you said it yourself, the reason you don't pirate on consoles is b...
... which part of his words suggested that?
You could say that either ways, he's gonna have to face doom.
I wish they'd give players an option.
Have two graphical presets that let you pick between 1080p/30fps or 720p/60fps.
^ He didn't use tech as the reason for calling them 'casuals'.
Rather, they're labeled 'casuals' because they don't know or care about technical details such as framerate.
... and he wasn't calling all console gamers as casuals;
Well, the game's script is certainly unrecognizable from "I feel asleep."

In your house as in... your own internet?
I'm talking about finding wifi hotspots while on the go, that you can gain access too, has decent up/down speeds and that don't have their ports blocked.
From my own experience, those are pretty rare. I carry a laptop around with me and don't encounter a lot of those kind of wifi...
but that might be different based on where you live.
Sounds like an RPG.
