Ooo, good eye on that 1 of 3.
I remember valve saying they'd have 3 big announcements, didn't click to me to apply that here.
... but I had figured that DotA was one of the big announcements. 2 of 3?
x.x
Well... the story is there...
it just requires one to pay closer attention to the levels to find tidbits on the going-ons.
It's been 1.4 multiplier in the past games.
Stopping power was an additional 1.4 multiplier too.
Though sprayers are frowned upon as it is, giving them a random chance to hit the jackpot might not be the best thing to do. =/
As the articles says, the smaller size is probably due to reliance on shaders rather than big fancy textures. So, it probably wouldn't look much better if they used more space (who really notices grass textures at 150mph?)
I don't see why they'd need much space. 20gb for a racing game is quite a hefty size!
What they're saying is, the cost isn't worth the extra 'features'.
A proper analogy is getting ice cream for free or paying $50 for an ice cream with a cherry on top.
It's down to personal tastes. You can disagree with opinions, but it doesn't make them "dumb".
1. I believe that's what "range" is on a weapon. The damage drops over a distance.
.. or atleast, thats how the past CoD games have done it.
2. Iffy, but no. Headshots should do more damage, but not instant kills. Having instakills on headshots is more suited for tactical games. CoD has generally been a toned down arcade shooter, so deadly headshots wouldn't work too well.
... and this is why more games need a "theater"-esque mode.
(Yes, I know other games have it too... and demos... but more games should include it, if it is appropriate)
> Quit trying to substitute a game for everything in life
- Using that argument to defend the unrealistic nature of a driving sim.
Nice.
The HUD thing is still speculation though. Guess we'll only learn what's really in/out when the game is released.
Well, the HUD does kill the realism somewhat.
Granted my eyes will be on the road, but gotta complain about something, right?
Strange thing is, of all the previews I've seen... I never noticed the HUD in the in-car view. I probably haven't been paying much attention. =x
Zombie pirates! Y'harr.
How can you say it'll be boycotted when we don't even know if it has anything new...?(Or you mean... like a new IP as opposed to new features?)
There's only so much that can be done to expand the series. =/
O.o
What they've currently got going for them would be L4D, Portal, Half-Life (where the hell is Episode3?), CounterStrike and HatFortress2... then there's the mods.
@ryuzu
A lot of systems are initially clunky. One of the marvels of the human body is that it can adapt to seemingly inconvenient design.
For example, keyboards on cellphones are clunky as hell (well, keyboard in general don't make sense when you first look at them) yet you've got the masses of young people tapping away on their cells accurately and quickly.
There does seem to be a future for this technology. Especially for artists.
I&...
I can't enjoy watching it when the person playing is driving like a ree-tawrd.
I think he means that it was PCs who made gaming what it is today... i.e. being saturated with FPSes
I miss platformers. =(
What irks me about PC gaming is that the playing field isn't leveled. On a console, atleast the hardware is the same... whereas on PC, if you have good ping and good hardware, you'd be racking heads.
Then again, y'aren't a real PC gamer if y'don't have a fancy smancy rig.
For better or for...
The hacked scene managed to implement dedicated servers for MW2.
Even the crooks are doing a better job than Activsion! (or rather, IW/Trey... who needs specific details?)
I agree. Having an actual player control the NPC riding the car would make this game immensely more enjoyable.
Aye. Many a quarters were sacrificed at its altar.
Graphics were eyeball-popping too.
I'll have to agree with BioShock2.
It felt like an expansion pack but it was an enjoyable one.
However, I think it was targeted towards the fans of BioShock so it didn't really have much appeal to those that either never played the first or didn't find the first game appealing (they deserve to be burned alive for not liking the first game!Y'harr.)
Dead Rising 2? ... ok...
... I guess. =/
That's the beauty of the T-virus, it infects both life and the video game industry.
