No Modnation. =(
... and why is sonic driving a car?
The reason it has been on top so far is because no-one has been competing with it (or well, not since CoD4).
Now that it finally has a real multi-platform competitor with EA getting back in the game, CoD will have to improve. Otherwise, EA will cook up something better and knock it down. BC2 was one step in the right direction, MoH kinda didn't go as well as planned, but Vietnam is good and BF3 is on the horizon.
With the EA/Activision lawsuit, I expect b...
He doesn't hate everything.
Psychonauts and Portal seem to get past him unscathed.
A few other games made it out alive.
Bad Company, and they can deny.
I constantly switch back and forth between MW and BlackOps (among other games too), and I'd say that BO is more balanced.
MW becomes enjoyable and balanced in servers that forbid GL, 3xfrag spams, and marty. Whereas BO remains balanced even at stock rules.
I still enjoy the gunplay in MW more. Maybe it's just that I'm more used to it, but using the guns just feels... better.
My only issue with BO is the player limit. I like the more chaoti...
Err, did Sony (or PD) actually recommend disconnecting from the online service to avoid issues?
That's what the article states but they didn't seem to list a source and I don't recall hearing anything like that.

...You want to become Bobby Kotick? O.o
... because you haven't bought one yet? O.o
... I don't think you'd hack a hacking tool.
Well, an auto-walk or an auto-run feature like Fallout might work.
Just make a step and the character will keep walking in that direction while you're free to look around...
or lean forward, if kinect can even detect that. =/
Or just go back to the old point-n-click adventure games. :D
The tech isn't really at the point to be standalone. Which kind of bothers me why it was marketed as something that does away with the controller entire...
I don't think it belongs in a fast-paced FPS environment. There'd be a bit too much movement involved and I don't think anyone would want to play Halo like that.
It could be used in HeavyRain~esque games... if they existed. =/
Was that a suicide simulator near the end...?
I used to like updates...

Luigi must be boiling with jealousy.
I'm surprised. I would've expected Nintendo's entire cast + a few jrpg characters.
Perhaps like KillingFloor?
The game gets free updates, but there's cosmetic DLC for $2 which contain around 4 character models.
The point is, if you want to support the game, buy the DLC. Otherwise, enjoy it for free.
=)
That was quite a well-written article.
Haven't had a good read like that in a while.
Cheers.

... how many racing sims get released every year? O.o
You could say the same thing for any genre... except maybe platformers. Unless if Mirror's Edge counts as platforming simulator. =/
"In all of entertainment, only Call of Duty and Avatar have ever achieved the billion dollar revenue milestone this quickly."
A fitting remark, Mr.Kotick.
Hmm, so roughly, this would be around 17 million copies? I guess that means the gaming economy is healthy.
Hurray.
^ Silk road... FlyFF... only good games on PC... rest on PS3 with better graphics and content....
Erm. Ok then.
Judging by yer previous post, I must say, you're pretty talented.
Yup. The comments below the article pretty much answer the article's concerns.
Judging by all the hats I see on TF2, there must be a ridiculous number of people who buy games just to get a TF2 hat. (Although only a few games get promoted in that fashion)
